My favorite toxic ship 🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥

Honestly my favorite ship in the whole series though, they are horrible and they are married.

Elephant in the room, do we think Mizu would be racist towards races other than white people?

It can be argued that she’s prejudiced against white people for a reason, every white person they’ve ever heard of is evil. But he seems pretty xenophobic in general. It would be historically accurate, and in my opinion in character, for her to be racist against anyone not Japanese. Maybe they’ll get some character development in season two when she meets more people of other races who aren’t Fowler. What do you guys think?

BES Subreddit for our deviant comedians, aka circlejerk

Go to r/OkBuddyPeaches

You can post all of the NSFW memes, crass humor, off-the-wall ships (although I think Fowler and Shindo could be legit 😂), and any other crazy/creative topics to your heart’s content.

I think there is only one mod, so be gentle.

It’ll keep the main page new-user friendly.

Taigen when he dick fights Mizu but the power of Mizu’s insane strap melts his penis and breaks his hand

u/18fries — 6 hours ago

this scene is just so devastating

thats the only moment she was able to tell him about fowler's plan. she probably forgot about it because her broken sword needed to be fixed immediately and he just went berserk on her

may she find her own true love

A Nice Graphic Of The British Isles, And Terminology

Via Wikipedia - saw this shared on social media, and I thought it would be nice to have as reference for talking about Season Two of Blue Eye Samurai.
This is a modern mapping - the present United Kingdom fits neatly inside "British Isles" and "British Islands". I assume the nesting would have to be a lot different for the state of the British Empire at the time of "Blue Eye Samurai".

Mizu and Alienation

( TW PTSD discussion )

I’m also a Demisexual Transmasculine Wasian who’s out for revenge, hates their father, and is full of traumatic secrets. (lol)

Joking aside, I’ve never felt so seen. The story of Mizu struggling with her identity; the “onryō” feeling of alienation, coincide extremely well for those of us that understand it.

Living with PTSD, for example. It’s like the writers get it. Having to play a “role” for every situation to protect yourself, pushing friends and lovers away, the numbness towards violence (emotional, physical, or social), never feeling you can truly trust someone, wanting to help others but barely being able to help yourself first, the blasé attitude towards sex or food when you’re unsafe because you’ve got bigger problems.

Alienation also arises from other points of his identity. I know a lot of us biracial people can relate to feeling “unfinished” and apart from either half of your race. BES also touches so well on being outside the gender binary and how dysphoria can segregate you: never feeling truly “in” with groups women or men, and before accepting your gender, sort of feeling like a thing next to them.

I also appreciate how the writers show reclaiming labels can be detrimental if done with self-hatred.

Mizu as a character is so complex and flawed, but I never doubted for an instant that she couldn’t be redeemed.

Thank you to the writers for Mizu and this gritty, thrilling, and amazing Eastern-Western. He makes me love myself in a way I haven’t ever felt before. Representation does matter.

Day 144 of making a meme out of every line in Blue Eye Samurai Season 1 - Instead of dodging the bullet, bro is running towards it with open arms 😭

this review makes me feel like a genius

my biggest issue is that he keeps reiterating that “mizu is strong because shes half white and fowler is strong because he’s full white” which is just dumb?? mizu and fowler are main characters obviously theyre gonna be the strongest ones in the series🤦🏾 somehow hes just managed to completely misunderstand everything about the show, but i guess it’s ragebait? like obviously mizu lost her fight with fowler the first time around she literally got shot?? hello??😭

mizu is so amazingly androgynous

like wow omg the designers genuinely transcended the game with her design. like she passes so easily as a guy even with a relatively high voice for male standards, and even as a girl even with her being forced to present as male as a child she’s genuinely a shapeshifter. it reminds me of jinx in arcane and how the animators have slightly different facial models for her sometimes getting sharper or softer depending on the context, except mizus face never actually changes like that’s literally just her face she’s just that good at being whatever the moment calls for. i think her name being water really suits the way she adapts to any situation. even being in madame kaji’s and telling kaji she’s an assassin for hire when that’s just not the case, but she still played that role so well! and the whole being a wife thing when traditional femininity is so foreign to her, she did great at that until the fight scene of course. which lowkey she was kinda od in that fight but i think she was having fun as opposed to genuinely trying to kill mikio.

British Lingo Bingo

The writing was so good in season one. I'd love to chat about what unhinged banter that awaits us in London; Tea, cake, the whole shebang!

i really don’t like mizu x taigen

okay i know it’s a popular ship, but hear me out here okay. taigen spent his childhood terrorizing mizu, then in adulthood abandoned his fiancé to go terrorize mizu AGAIN. during their sparring match in the woods, not only does taigen deliberately strike mizu where she’d already been injured, he also brings up the awful things they used to do to her as kids. and maybe i could get behind taigen bullying mizu as a child if taigen didn’t make it a point to essentially tell mizu he still thinks she isn’t shit😭 i also just don’t like how taigen left akemi to go chase mizu around, like god i get youve got a bald spot now but tie that thing in a top knot and marry your fiancé bro😭 akemi was out of his league socially, financially, and looks wise and she still showed more dedication to him than he did to her. i wouldn’t even dislike him as much if he married akemi before going off to chase mizu around. all that being said, this is just my opinion and i respect anyone who does like the ship, because i think taigen and mizu had some good moments but never ever would i want them to be a couple 😅

Wasn’t sure but was there a discussion about Ringo having his own spinoff series? If so then that means our boy is safe and gets to live, atleast for the entirety of this series.
