Broward Late Shift Connect

Has anyone used this that work late shift (like 3rd shift)? Where up to $30 is covered when bus service is done for the day. I’m trying to see if it’s worth the headache. I tried to call for a ride at night to work and I ended up being late anyways because the cab company says “We are still looking for a driver for you.”

I had to just call for a Lyft and could’ve just ordered the ride earlier if I knew the cab company wasn’t going to send a driver.

Why not just give us Uber or Lyft credits so we can use a more reliable ride company? These cab companies in Broward are unreliable and no help to people needing rides to work or home at night.

Broward Quick Build Traffic Calming Guide

The county recently published their Quick Build Guide as part of the Safety Action Plan, an effort to reduce roadway injuries and fatalities. An interesting part of it is that anyone can lead a demonstration project, as long as the city/county oversees it. So if you wanted to test out a way to slow down cars, and you convince your city, you can! Any low cost materials, like traffic cones can be used. I will say, though, they don't make the process that easy. These are the steps:

  1. Design
  2. Present to public
  3. Submit
  4. Wait for County engineering to review
  5. Revise if necessary
  6. Present final concept to public
  7. Notify public of project installation
  8. Installation

I would imagine this is something that a local neighborhood association could do with some planning and engagement. Cities can do it themselves, but I think it would require a heavy push from residents, as our engineers here in Broward are not taking progressive steps.

Psy Ops are Real. Stay Safe. Stay out the Shadows and Move quick.

I'm back in Florida.

Two reasons: my mental health, and my son. I'm done running from the area where all of this happened to me. It's time to stand still and take care of myself.

So I'm taking a little time off. But understand .. I'm holding back. The real stories, the full truth, the body cam. It's all coming. Tips, tricks, the whole playbook. Soon.

And despite every setback — I'm still standing. Still out here fighting qualified immunity solo dolo with the polo. No lawyer army. No settlements. No NDAs. Just truth and game for the public. The Broward case is live too. Depositions on the record, testimony coming. Truth only. Light only.

Right now I'm going to get back to being the productive person I've always been. To everyone who believed, loved, and supported me through this — thank you. I mean that.

Because here's where I'm headed: public service. Linking up with public officials, working for the community. Being the role model my son deserves. That's who all of this is for.

I might not be the one who changes it all. But like Pac said — I might just be the spark that gets the fire going.

And watch out for Leo Markus Gautam. LMG is five times better than me, with all the sauce I never had. That's the whole point. You build it so the next one starts higher than you did.

This war is far from over. Truth and light win.

Here's another full, uncut video. Make of it what you want. When you sue two police forces and they bury 20 officers in dispatch and discovery — imagine what happens when you start telling it clean and honest.

Back in a week or two. 🛡️

Maybe the worst Deerfield commission in history?

On top of this necessary $140M project, Deerfield is attempting to undertake their own police and fire departments. The purchasing of cop cars alone is an estimated $9M on top of all the other equipment, fire equipment and needing to rebuild 4 fire stations. Do you think this is the worst deerfield beach city commission in history?

Seeking support groups in Broward

Does anyone know of any free online or in-person support groups in the area that focus on mental health and/or chronic illness? I (24F) have Lupus and have been experiencing profound depression and loneliness as a result of being chronically ill and out of work. Thank you!!

(please no religious recommendations or paid therapy services, thank you for understanding)

tired of creepy people

i know weird people exist everywhere; but my experience living here has just gotten worse. i’m in my early 20s, and there just doesn’t seem to be a profound sense of community or social safety.

i’m trying to be more open to different experiences, event groups with people closer to my age. there is just a lot of opportunism, and many uncomfortable experiences, even in potential friendships.

i don’t want to include uncomfortable staring from people outside of my age group, but it does wear on me, especially with the current social messaging that can encourage these pursuits for gain.

i had a better time when i was attending college locally, but it was still difficult to sift through. curious to know if anyone’s had better experiences living elsewhere, or if you’re similar in age and having a better time here.

Getting hired while black for a livable wage in miami/broward county

Are there any black people / Caribbean people getting hired down here without knowing Spanish? It's been 9 months since I was fired from my job because of racist Hispanics. Every interview that I get is because I put on the application that I was white or two or more races. Once they see that I'm black, there is no moving forward, and this is for entry-level jobs. Not even the jobs I have multiple degrees and certifications in, because I noticed that the entire department is Hispanic, so I already know not to waste my time. Also, I am aware that there are Hispanics who are unemployed as well, so don't take this as an insult espically if you are not racist to other races just because you can be.

What Happened Last Night at Hard Rock?

I like many others parked at the casino garage and walked across the street to catch the shuttle buses for the match last night. However upon returning at around 11-11:30, there was massive traffic getting in and out of the casino, to the point we were waiting in the casino till 1ish for it to clear up.

Now admittedly I haven't been to the casino that late in a long time, but is it usually like that? If not, wth happened there? We saw there was some comedy show but I never heard of the guy. Was that it? I know it wasn't the shuttle buses causing traffic because last Sunday's match that wasn't an issue

I built an AI to run Florida’s new gang law (HB 429) against politicians the same way they run FLOCK on us. I call mine F.U.C.K.

https://preview.redd.it/9veccxcmf29h1.jpg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8b6b4a61cb717090169cb3582d48b341523d178

While everyone's focused on FLOCK cameras tracking license plates, I built the inverse.

For the past 18'ish months, I've run an autonomous system that scrapes public photos, events, and social media of Florida politicians and scores these posts against SCOTUS'sLindke two-prong test.

HB 429 just dropped the threshold for a gang-member label from four interactions to two and added social media criteria. The gap: the legislature never defined "in the company of" or "associates with" in any measurable way. So I filed Chapter 119 public records requests with the top 30 sheriff's offices and both legislative counsels asking for the instruction manual:

  • How many pixels of proximity in a photo counts as an "observation"?
  • What's the written definition of "associates with"?
  • Is there a policy exempting elected officials from these same rules?

Two outcomes:

  • They give me the criteria → I hard-code it and run it on their own public appearances.
  • They admit there are no written standards → every public defender in the state gets fresh ammunition that the law is arbitrary.

Full piece here: https://chazstevens.substack.com/p/the-government-has-flock-im-here

Not pro-gang. Pro "apply the same rules to everyone."

What happens when they actually have to answer?

Subaru service suggestions, Northeast Broward

My 2019 Subaru Impreza needs front differential, rear differential, and brake fluid servicing. I have a 1K quote from the dealership, would like a second opinion from a reliable repair shop in Northeast Broward, preferably. Thanks in advance.

Is it worth hiring a lawyer after a car accident?

Insurance is delaying just about everything, has anyone in South Florida gone through this as I’m not very sure getting a lawyer can make it worth it.

Primary Care Doc in Pines/Miramar/Weston/Davie area?

Or a little farther north is fine. As of a few years ago, Memorial Healthcare stopped prescribing all benzodiazepines. I dont sleep that well and can have a chaotic work schedule that throws my sleep off. My PCP use to prescribe Lunesta for me, which I would take occasionally, but he moved 3 years ago and I started seeing a PCP doc in the Memorial Network.

At first I was like whatever, ill live. But some nights I really just struggle to sleep. It's been over 3 years since I have taken any Lunesta.

Any recommendation for a doc that is not in the Memoial network?
