This is happening across the US, and no one in our county either knows about this corruption or is willfully blind to it.
You couldn't possibly understand what it feels like to have your life destroyed (going on 6 years) by a dangerous—a career offender who faced no punishment—cop. The county needs an outside agency to conduct an internal audit to investigate BSO records. There are so many unanswered IMPORTANT questions. They're here to protect us, and I believe they are only abusing us. It is pertinent that BSO is audited from the ground up especially by an agency with ZERO ties—perhaps even one out of state—to prevent false narratives or quid pro quo. There is more going on than a budget dispute. And personally, I think it's more important.
I just wanted to share that I am not making up this abhorrent trend, which has been happening for far too long and is still ongoing.
I know -- willing to bet my dogs -- that this happening within the Broward Sheriff's Office. They need an internal audit of the entire agency - access to any record or data they ask for. Preferably by an out-of-state agency with no care for protecting this agency, because they don't care about them personally.
Thoughts?
I recently got into a car accident, and while I’m not seriously injured or anything, I did end up going to the hospital afterward, and the costs were honestly ridiculous. Insurance has been slow to respond, so I’m thinking I should at least get some advice from a professional. Does anybody have someone they would reco͏mmend or have worked with in the past? I'll be honest, I'm not even sure where to start looking
The Broward County Black Democratic Caucus made headlines earlier this month by telling Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultznot to run for reelection in FL-20.
Brazilians — along with the green and yellow from the country's flag — dominate some stretches of Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beech and Coconut Creek. The soccer-obsessed community celebrated when it was announced Brazil would be playing a FIFA World Cup match at Hard Rock Stadium. But steep prices and ICE threats appear to be muting the excitement.
Hey everyone — just a heads-up that as a dental student in Davie, FL. ’m looking to gain more clinical experience. If you’ve been putting off care because of cost, I may be able to help through my school’s clinic (supervised by licensed dentists, very low fees compared to private practice). Not selling anything — just want to put the info out there. Happy to share details if anyone DMs me. I speak English and Spanish.
I know it's more on Dade's hands to deal with preparation and such, but with the news of the fifa fan store opening in miami beach and that it's south florida we're talking about, has there been any preparation that broward is doing? Or even any word about fan stores opening up here?
From time to time, I do ubereats and doordash on my ebike but there are 2 hazard points for people riding bikes on 441 and commercial.
1 is at the shell gas station on the corner. there are walls at the exit that cars, people walking, and people on bikes that block people view to see if anyone is on the sidewalk or pulling out the gas station and that's a accident waiting to happen if it haven't already.
2nd hazard point is 7/11 entrance/exit to 441. There's a tall hedge that block people view. There's been time people was speeding out the 7/11 and nearly ran me over because their view to see people coming from the south is blocked by a tall bush.
Today I was riding my ebike and I exited the east exit of 7/11 and there was another person on a ebike and a escooter coming but I was going a decent speed like 15 mph and the ground was wet and I didnt see them until I got around the bush. so I had to squeeze my breaks hard and my back tire slipped out from under me and my handle bars ripped my pants and small hole in my thigh.
I could've went slower but still.... Both party can't see each other until they meet up at the intersection.
last night was the worst termite swarm I have ever seen, I got out of the Gym at Dania point, and they were everywhere, all along my drive home in Hollywood. the streets were covered with wings, swirling in the wind as cars drove by. some make way inside homes.
Anyone notice all this?
After raising $1.6 million, Church-by-the-Sea is on track to start the largest privately-funded living seawall project in Florida's history. It will use 3D printed designs to promote marine biodiversity, and is expected to attract enough oyster growth to filter 1 million gallons of water per day.
Hi! I'm going to be launching two separate newsletters for Axios, one covering Fort Lauderdale and another covering Hollywood, and I am curious to know what Broward County stories you feel are missing in local coverage?
Open to hearing what kinds of stories should be included in a newsletter about the local community. I wanted to ensure the newsletters are fun, newsy, and most useful/interesting for residents
Can be anything: development, housing, real estate, restaurants, local government/politics, restaurants, local businesses, etc!
My wife and I have been dealing with house flies recently in our house. We live in South Florida and there is a canal behind us. Last year around this time we had a similar issue that eventually went away but this year we are dealing with even more. We have been killing roughly 7+ house flies a day. They seem to be coming out when we start cooking inside.
We keep a very clean house, we had an exterminator come out and inspect the house. He checked the outside, inside and went up into the attic. He couldn’t find anything wrong and sprayed the attic to be safe. He recommended using a fogger but we wanted to avoid so many strong chemicals going off, we have a dog.
After he couldn’t find an issue I put a trap in the far backyard about 20 ft away. The photo is the trap after 3 days.
We are going crazy still killing all these flies and can’t for the life of us figure out why, the exterminator had no idea either. Wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this issue and had a recommendation for us. Thank you!
Edit: I forgot to mention, we have about 5 of the plug in sticky traps, they catch a good bit but we still are dealing with so many daily.
No immediate threat to local residents, fire department is on scene at the Holly Lake community.
The amount of entitlement that goes on in some people’s mind is beyond me. There’s a relatively secluded park that I go to every morning. Yesterday evening while delivering for Amazon flex to a house near that park, the older guy who lives there recognizes my car and says that he notices that I’m at the park for hours every morning with a passive aggressive tone and body language, and asks what I do there. I tell him I go there to walk and to relax outdoors every morning.
I’m assuming maybe he’s jealous that I have so much time to relax every morning while being young? Or maybe he’s discriminating against me for being poor, since I’m driving an old car and delivering for Amazon flex, clearly I must not have a lot of money and haven‘t ‘earned the privilege‘ to relax at a quiet park near his expensive house for hours every morning.
Well as far as I’m aware, the park is public land, and I’ll continue to relax and walk there every morning for as long as I wish.
