How do I land a job as a business analyst today?

I fear this is a repeated question and maybe theres tons of ppl have already answered but lately I feel like nothing is actually working! I recently graduated with a bachelors in business analytics and ai from a us university and ive been finding it incredibly difficult to land interviews, what can I do? how do I make interviewers look at my profile and think I could be worth it?

For context: I make sure my resume is tuned to the jd by highlighting my experience and I have a bunch of AI related skills/projects in it as well. I have experience of less than a year as a data analyst, did a bunch of certifications that could boost my resume and I also have a gpa of 3.8. I am on F1-OPT visa tho, not sure if any of this even helps, but I hope this helped form an image of me.

Aimlessly applying without a referral is doing nothing for me and I would love to pick yalls brain on how I can become better and at least land an interview soon. Has cold emailing worked for yall? cause I keep getting ghosted? im wondering if I should get a LinkedIn subscription so I can reach out to my school's alumni and recruiters but I also hear folks saying that LinkedIn does not work.

MBA IIT Kharagpur | 3+ YOE | Immediate Joiner | Seeking Business Analyst / Consulting / Product Roles

Hi everyone,

I'm an MBA graduate from VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur with 3+ years of experience across IT Consulting, Business Analysis, Analytics, and BFSI.

I've been actively searching for my next opportunity for some time now, and while I've been applying through LinkedIn, Naukri, referrals, and company portals, the market has been much tougher than I expected. I thought I'd reach out to this community in case someone knows of relevant openings or can point me in the right direction.

A little about my background:
• MBA, IIT Kharagpur (VGSoM batch of 2024)
• 3+ years of experience in consulting, business analysis, stakeholder management, and process improvement
• Skilled in Power BI, SQL, Python, and Advanced Excel
• Experience working with enterprise clients, digital transformation initiatives, analytics, and business process optimization
• Based in Bangalore and available for immediate joining

I'm currently exploring opportunities in Business Analysis, Consulting, Product, Strategy, Operations, and Analytics roles.

If your team is hiring, or if you know of recruiters, hiring managers, or relevant openings that may fit my profile, I would genuinely appreciate any leads or referrals.

Happy to share my resume over DM.

What AI skills are now crucial for business analysts?

Over the past few months I've been trying to integrate AI into my daily work not just use it for random questions now and then.

I recently attended a Be10X workshop and one thing that caught my attention was how much of an analyst's routine can be made more efficient with the right tools.

Some areas I've been experimenting with include:

Using prompt engineering to get more organized and clear results

Speeding up data interpretation and summarization

Creating presentations and reports with AI help

Taking meeting notes and making action-item summaries

Improving research and requirements-gathering processes

I'm interested in knowing what other business analysts are actually using in their day-to-day jobs.

Here are a few questions I have:

Which AI tools have become a regular part of your workflow?

What skills do you think will be most important for business analysts in the coming years?

Are there any specific use cases that have genuinely helped you save time?
