How to start preparing for CASPer? Resources/recommendations?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to take the CASPer for my Canadian OT applications and am aiming to book it for the last week of September.

I’m completely new to CASPer and wondering where I should start. If you’ve taken it recently, what resources did you use and what actually helped?

Also, are any paid subscriptions/memberships worth it, or are the free resources enough? I’d really appreciate recommendations for practice questions, mock tests, YouTube channels, etc.

Thanks! 🙏

Casper is so weird

Tbh i have 0 idea why or how they gave me a 4th quartile. Im obviously grateful that i got a 4th quartile but this goes to show that grading is SO subjective and their grading scale makes no sense. I was mumbling ALL of my words, it took me at least 20 seconds to start talking on the video portion and I don’t think i completed a single question fully. I always left out some key details, I forgot names all i did is say some fancy buzz words and thats about it that i got from a 10 min YouTube video. I just did the practice exam right before my test, and skipped half of the questions while doing so. Im not trying to brag my score but i genuinely started laughing when i saw my score cause it made no sense.

CASPer 7/19 results

I don’t know how but I did it!!! I used chatgpt to give me fake scenerios and give me a guideline to follow when answering all types of questions!
My exam tbh was mostly personal questions? I thought that was weird but I’ll take it

7/19 Q3

Grading for this exam is so subjective and this should have no basis towards admission at all.

Took practice test few hours before and wrote pure slop

How do I know if I am ready to sit the CASPER?

Hello everyone,

This is a general question, and probably doesn't have a right answer, but how do I know if I'm ready?

I've done a bit of practice and seem to write a solid paragraph per question (~105 words per question). The past couple weeks I've been using Claude/Prep Match to do practice questions and timed scenarios. I've also tried some of the free online resources, ror example I consitently achieve 3.5 in casprep. But I feel as though I have somewhat plateaued.

With all this practice, how do I know if I am ready to sit the exam to achieve 4th Quartile or need to do more/something different?

Thank you kindly for any response or advise.

For Casper takers

I keep seeing people who prepped hard still land in 2nd quartile, and others who barely studied get 4th quartile. It’s confusing me and I have the BeMo book but I’m scared that prepping with it will make my answers sound robotic
English is my second language, so I’ve been trying to memorize some phrases/sentence starters to help me respond faster but I don’t know if that’s a good idea or if it’ll hurt me

What’s your advice for me?

July 19 results release date?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I looked online and I could only find a range between August 16 and 19. Is it informally known which day it will release on to view quartile scores?

CORRECT CASPER TEST?

Hi guys, I am in the current vet school application cycle and want to make sure that I took the correct Casper test. On the VMCAS portal, for the 2026-27 LIU-LCVM admissions cycle, it says the Casper test is CSP-10101 – U.S. Professional Health Sciences. However, I genuinely did not find that test name when I clicked the veterinary program. Instead, it shows CSP-20100, while CSP-10101 was for different programs (not vet med). I did see that there was an update to Casper 2; again, I just want clarification.

Did anyone else experience this and also take CSP-20100? I tried to clarify with the admissions office directly. However, their reply did not answer my concern. I also asked the Acuity Insights team through the chat, and the answer was not clear as well. I really want to make sure I took the right test, so if anyone has their own insight, it would be very helpful. Thank you!!

How long should I prep for CASPer?

Hi! I’m planning on taking CASPer soon and was wondering how long people usually prepare for it.

English is my second language, although I’m overall fluent. I’m mainly worried about being able to organize my thoughts and type out good responses quickly under the time limit.

For anyone who was in a similar situation, how long did you prepare and how did you end up doing? Any tips or resources would also be really appreciated!
