Two New Recalls

Our Optiq (2025 Lux2) is at the dealership for the windshield foam issue. From the time we ordered the part (June), Cadillac made it a Customer Satisfaction bulletin, but today they told me it's a full tilt open recall.

Also, there's a brake module open recall now (they they will perform). My tech commented that he hoped it would cure the phantom emergency braking issue that several GM models they service are experiencing. When I remarked "yeah, I turn that off", he remarked "I always turn it off when I drive any of our cars."

Apple Music and Surround Vision

I’m pretty much making my rounds on every cadillac forum and help site i can and no one seems to answer my question. Please if anyone can read my post fully and answer my very easy question it would be much appreciated.

I got the 661.20 update for my MY25 a week ago. The changelog shows the surround vision recorder as one of the features.

It updated successfully i have cabin glance, i have the battery percentage in the gauge, i have the maps on the left side of the split screen, i have AAOS14.

I dont have the recording app. I also dont have Apple Music. I am definitely on aaos 14.

My question is

was the recording app and apple music supposed to appear with this update or does it just show up without an additional OTA eventually?

Apple Music and Dolby Atmos

Hello everyone,

I’ve had my 26 Optiq Sport for about 10 days now, and I am loving my experience especially when I got the Apple Music update.

However, I do have a question. Does the native Apple Music app fully support the use of the Dolby Atmos system if I am playing a Dolby Atmos song? I ask because I have never heard the ceiling speakers (specifically the one above the driver seat). I know some songs are mixed and produced differently and don’t fully utilize the Dolby capabilities. But I have never heard it fire off, so I am just wondering if maybe I am just playing the wrong songs, and if so, could you guys give me a song that I could play that utilizes all 19 speakers for Dolby to test.

Thanks in advance!!

What’s supposed to be a combined efficiency?

New to EV world and I still haven’t fully understood MPG in an EV car!
I see some people complaining 2.4/kWh is bad or 3.5/kWh is below average. So, what is SUPPOSEDLY best MPG/kWh this car should offer for combined driving?

P.S. I hope I hear 24 MPG rather than 12 MPG eqnualivpent lol - please, don’t be pissed if you’re seeing MPG in an EV sub ;)

HOLD NEVER GOT TAKEN OFF

Okay so i made a mistake of making my debit card as a default for charging stations for my EV. Normally when I charge my car it puts a 51$ hold.

My credit builder card after charging the hold will update and so will my actual balance.

HOWEVER

with my debit card its been 2 weeks the hold price updated but the actual balance never did, I’m still charged 51$ even tho the final transaction receipt updated.

This is actually ridiculous how much longer do i need to wait. i went on a 20hr roadtrip and im expecting 300$ back due to the price differential

2025 Optiq — OnStar, nav, music, SOS all dead. Dealer won't give a loaner. Normal?

OnStar's been broken since June — no in-car wifi, SOS button doesn't connect. Dealer finally ordered a part, no ETA on when it arrives. Now they're telling me their policy is no loaner unless the car is "undrivable," and to just use my phone for maps in the meantime.

Car with a dead SOS system doesn't feel like a minor inconvenience to me — that's a safety feature I paid for. Anyone else deal with this? Did GM corporate override the dealer on a loaner, or am I stuck waiting it out?

experience without Apple Carplay

The lease on my Hyundai Ioniq 5 is up in February and I am considering the Optiq. It’s not a dealbreaker but I think I will miss having Apple Carplay. Anyone care to share their experience driving the Optiq after having Carplay in their previous car? Is the Apple Music app enough? How do you handle iMessages?

Questions about Optiq

I am a first time EV buyer and after shopping around considering Optiq. How is the real world range? I was told around 500kM. I live in Canada and if someone has experience with how the range drops in winter.

Finally got my 661.20. Wow- the chimes are LOUD

Yes I know where the setting is, but it doesn’t let you turn it down any further. Any way to quiet the seatbelt/door chimes?

New seat belt alert

After a recent up date, (maybe last update) I noticed that the alert chime when the driver’s seat belt is not fastened, is absolutely obnoxious. I have tried to change the sound settings but have had no luck. Anyone knows how to fix?

Not even 1000 miles, this is a joke gm.

Had a 2025 lemon, and my state lemon law put me in a position where I had to exchange it for a new Cadillac or lose $12,000

So we got a 2027 replacement

Under 1k miles and already having battery faults.

I know this sub hates to hear issues on these optiqs, but modern GM cars (and probably all other brands) are poorly made junk.

-- edit

Lemon law in NC has a fee for usage if you get a refund, no fee for a replacement. They wanted to charge us a $12,000 usage fee if we opted for a refund on your 10month old car.

Battery drain?

Turned off my Level 1 charging last night at 98% through the app and then this morning it shows 96%. What could the battery drain be from?? Also is there no way to start charging again? Obviously there’s a stop button but no start button.

Lane Centering

Owned a CPO '25 Optiq Luxury 2 for almost 2 months. Have noticed the lane centering works fantastic when using Super Cruise, but otherwise ping-pongs between the lines. Is this normal, or is something wrong? THANKS.

Liftgate has grinding noise.

Hello, has anyone had any problems with their lift gate? After having my Optiq for a week, the lift gate started making a grinding sound intermittently when opening and closing. I can see where the edge of the liftgate has rubbed against the body of the car. I assumed that it is misaligned. So far They have changed the strut and it is still grinding. Now it’s back at the dealer and they’ve been “diagnosing”for a week. This is the 3rd time it’s been in the shop for this problem. I’ve had to wait weeks between appointments
because they don’t have many loaners. Any ideas?

2027 Optiq-V Order Slipped FOUR Times - Cadillac Customer Care is a Dead End - Anyone Else?

Fellow Cadillac enthusiasts, I need to vent and I need advice, because Cadillac's "EV Concierge" experience has been an absolute joke.

THE SITUATION:

I ordered a 2027 Optiq-V (Deep Ocean Edition) through my local dealer on an employee discount deal. Since then, my target production date has slipped FOUR times:

7/13/2026 (original)

7/27/2026

8/24/2026

10/19/2026 (current)

Zero explanation. Not one proactive communication from my dealer or from Cadillac. I found out about each slip by checking the order tracker myself.

WHAT I'VE TRIED:

My dealer: unresponsive. No explanation for any of the four slips. I suspect they're a small, low-allocation store and my employee-discount order is at the bottom of their priority list.

Cadillac EV Concierge chat: scripted deflection. "Contact your dealer." That's it. That's the whole playbook. I asked for a constraint code, an advocate, anything - got nothing but copy-paste responses.

Cadillac Customer Care phone line: told me there was "nothing they can do" and - get this - that "allocation doesn't play a factor" in order timing. Anyone who has ever ordered a GM vehicle knows that's nonsense.

So the dealer points to Cadillac, Cadillac points to the dealer, and my car sits in scheduling purgatory while I'm locked in with a nonrefundable deposit.

WHY THIS STINGS:

I'm not some casual buyer. I've been a car guy my whole life. I owned a CTS-V Wagon with a manual transmission - one of the rarest things Cadillac ever bolted together. When it came time for my first EV, I didn't go Tesla, I didn't go Rivian. I chose Cadillac because I believed the V-Series badge still meant something.

I also had a personal milestone riding on this: my 40th high school reunion is in October. The plan was to show up in my new Optiq-V. At this rate the car won't even be built by then.

THE BIGGER PROBLEM:

I strongly suspect some dealers ordered Optiq-Vs as showroom candy - halo cars for the lot - while actual customers with actual deposits wait in line behind them. If GM is letting dealer stock orders compete with sold customer orders for allocation, that's a broken system and Cadillac should be embarrassed by it.

Cadillac wants to charge $70K+ and compete with the luxury EV establishment, but the ordering experience is stuck in 1985. Tesla tells you exactly where your car is at every step. Cadillac tells you to "contact your dealer" while your date slips a quarter down the calendar.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FORUM:

Anyone else's Optiq-V or Lyriq-V order slipping repeatedly like this?

Anyone successfully gotten GM Executive Resolution to intervene on a production slot?

Any insight into what's actually going on at Ramos Arizpe right now - constraint holds, allocation shuffling, anything?

I've already escalated in writing to GM executive leadership. I'll update this thread with whatever response I get - good or bad. If Cadillac makes this right, I'll say so just as loudly.

Please contact me for any GM folks monitoring this board. You know where to find me.

Recommendations for home charging?

I have had my 2026 Optiq for a few weeks and love it. In the midst of a home renovation and want to install the best home charging system as part of that. We’ll be tapping into our solar (2 Tesla batteries) but that shouldn’t limit what I get for charging. Any input welcome - obviously GM is pushing their system but I see other recommendations online. Thanks in advance for any input
