Thinking of moving to Model Y L

I love my Vistiq (Premium Luxury). Few minor issues here and there, but my local dealership has been top-notch and very responsive.

Main reason I’m thinking of moving to Tesla is full self driving (FSD). I do a lot of city driving (I live in a small midwestern city). GM Super Cruise on highways gave me a taste for FSD and now I want more. Also, faster charging and more range.

With the Model Y L announced for North America, I think there’s a stronger case to get it. The Tesla cabin is not at as spacious as the Vistiq and doesn’t feel as much like a real SUV, but there’s also a $30k difference in price (though, if I did a trade in or sell my Vistiq, I’m probably down $10k initially and then will make it up later on with the lower monthly payment). I was looking at the original Model Y but it felt too small. Model X too expensive for what you get, but I like the size.

Other factors - I have three kids so we regularly use the third row.

Am I crazy?

Insanely sick car, but why?

Just got my new Vistiq. Sick car, great tech, gorgeous, big. I hate how all EVs except Rivian are gong with the low to the ground approach for SUVs.

I am super happy but there are two things that are a bit ridiculous and not needed.

  1. Onstar. This service absolutely blows. To even get the car off the lot, you must complete an “onboarding call.” These morons couldn’t get the car out of demo mode and kept me on the phone an hour to fix it. Horrible new car experience.

The sales people also said call them with any question. “The EV concierge is super knowledgeable”. Called them when the 2-3 questions so far. Far from knowledgable. Basically searching a knowledge base.

Just get rid of it. It’s not needed and not valuable.

  1. Google OS. While the Google OS isn’t bad and it’s fairly intuitive. I don’t understand why the car manufacturer wants to force my phone integration experience. Why not just offer CarPlay and android auto for phone related functions? It’s really silly to have to use the Google system and deal with its bugs for my iPhone versus just making it as easy as CarPlay does for me.

I’m sure for the Google people it’s better but in the same regard, I wouldn’t expect a Google person to have to use a non-Google experience. It just seems like a weird choice and I don’t know why GM wants to alienate consumers like that.

And by the way, using Gemini as the Google Assistant makes it so you can’t even text with your phone. At least if you’re gonna give me the option to use Gemini and they’re gonna force me to use Google. You can make your shit work.

Other than that, this is a top-notch car and I’m super excited about it. I’ll deal with these things, but it could be so easy to make this more friendly.

Link driver profile to key fob

Anyone got the secret? I’ve tried to search and so search how to do it in the 2026, none of the directions seems to apply to the OS.

Nothing is in the profile settings, when I delete the profile and recreate it nothing comes up to link a key fob as stated.

Is it really smart enough to know automatically what key fob I have in the car when I create the profile?

Also any tips when creating the second profile. Do I add just google and media accounts, do I need to add the myCadillac account and if so do I make one or my wife or login in with my cred? The google and media accounts should be easy enough.

2026-2027 Cadillac Vistiq Third-Row Power Seat Recall 26V394 / N262555780

This was mentioned in another thread two weeks ago but it seemed fitting to summarize the information. Interestingly, GM decided to look at this after a different manufacturer's recall. Likely Hyundai.

What: The third-row power seatback can fold down with a single button press and will not automatically reverse if it encounters an obstruction, including a person.

Why: A smaller occupant, particularly a child, could become trapped under the folding seatback, increasing the risk of injury.

Cause: Not identified.

Scope: 14,540 total vehicles; 100% estimated with defect; 6 incidents or complaints reported, none resulting in injury. No accidents or injuries reported.

Production Dates:

  • 2026 Cadillac Vistiq (13,629 units): November 12, 2024 - April 9, 2026
  • 2027 Cadillac Vistiq (911 units): January 16, 2026 - June 15, 2026

Fix: For now, dealers will physically disable the third-row power folding feature by disconnecting the seat wiring harness.

The permanent fix will be a replacement seat module with auto-reverse capability, to be completed through a separate customer satisfaction campaign once parts are available. Customers must sign an acknowledgment form when the interim disable is performed.

Owner notification: VINs are searchable as of 6/18/2026 and interim letters expected August 3, 2026. Remedy letter date not yet set.

NHTSA Recall No.: 26V394

Manufacturer Recall No.: N262555780

Visitiq Keeps calling My Phone?

Everytime I use Gemini or make a phone call while in my car , my Vistiq will keep trying to call my phone. It gets stuck in an endless loop and the only way to stop it is turning off my Bluetooth.

I've reset my phone and refreshed the entertainment center and it still does it.

Anyone have a fix for this?

The new Chargepoint app!

So far it's looking much better! Way better than the old version. Google Maps integration. Charging stations are now clearly labeled by port (though this still needs to be updated as some units use A/B rather than 1/2). UI looks much more refined. For some reason, the public charger that I normally use would not detect/accept tap from my Apple Wallet (I did not have my physical RFID card on me as it's broken ☹️). I had to initiate the charge directly from the app today. I'll have to play around with this new route planning *beta* tool to see if it's any good. I imagine the CarPlay app will be much more useful if so, especially on iOS 27 (not that it applies to us Sierra EV/Silverado EV owners...thanks to GM! 😒)

Anyone else try it out? What do you think so far? I like it! This seems like a step in the right direction at first glance. Good job, Chargepoint!

2026 Lease Questions

Looking to move on a 2026 Vistiq. It was a service vehicle with about 2500k miles on it. They are selling it as new. I’m looking to lease I’m open to either 24 or 36 month option. I’m a GM employee so I’ll get my EV discount which I think is 2100. I’m trying to be below or at no higher then $750 with $0 down. Any here have a success? If so how do I approach? I know about the 3rd row recall they have to disable the 3rd row until a fix is available so I was gonna use that as leverage along with the fact they are selling it at almost msrp with 2500 miles on it. Any advice is welcome thank you!

Level 2 Charger Recommendations

Excited to be joining the Vistiq club. The thing is a technical marvel and a work of art.

I'm limping by on level one charging, but I think an upgrade is going to be needed. I would want to stick with a charger that is compatible with my local utility's discounts, so my choice is between:

Charge Point  Home Flex CPH25 or Home Flex CPH50

Wallbox Pulsar Plus

Emporia (any model)

Anyone have suggestions based on experience with Vistiq's or other GM models? I think I'm in a good place regarding panel space and service capacity, but I'll need an electrician to confirm.

Thanks!

What kind of lease deals are you guys seeing on a Vistiq? I live in TX and so far i am seeing 2 yr term, 15k mileage, $8 k down, little less than $700/ month on Luxury models. Doesn't seem great but not terrible either.

I am ecstatic! Everyone share their favorite part of their Vistiq and things about the car pls!!!

Cadillac vistiq lease

Looking to get into a Cadillac vistiq next month! I love the blue interior on the ‘26 premium trim but wondering if that’s even still possible now that the ‘27’s are out?

It’s between that ‘26 premium trim or the platinum in either ‘26 or ‘27. I’m open to thoughts! Im in Michigan if that helps with pricing

Cadillac Vistiq

Hi! I drove to a store 15 minutes from my home. I stayed in the store for maybe 20 minutes. Upon returning to the vehicle, I went directly to the trunk. I waited for it to sense my key fob and automatically open the trunk after three beeps, but it never occurred. I then entered the cabin to pop the trunk manually, but that effort failed as well. I then attempted to start the vehicle, and nothing happened. I made several attempts with no success. The backup battery was jumped, but the truck still would not start. When using the key fob to lock and unlock the Vistiq, an error popped up on the screen stating "service steering system." Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the issue, and how was it resolved?

In Australia we get the Vistiq with Apple CarPlay

In Australia and considering buying a Vistiq. We only get one model, the Platinum.

Out petrol prices have gone through the roof and the Vistiq looks to be a big and fast electric SUV which is what I’m after and is good value in Australia at $120k AUD

Interested to read a lot of posts on this thread from the US that you don’t get Apple CarPlay.

The Australian Platinum model is listed on the local website as coming with Apple CarPlay.

Wondering why we get it in Australia but you don’t in the US?

Beware of service right now

Just took my Vistiq in for its first service and a couple other minor things. Service advisor called and discussed the open recall on the third row. He said that they’ve been instructed by GM to disable the third row mechanism until a permanent fix is in. So basically I had to choose third row locked up or locked down. I wasn’t too upset considering I only utilize the third row occasionally, but what an inconvenience for someone who does! If you were thinking of taking your Vistiq in for any service—this temporary measure might be forced on you as well.

Just joined the Vistiq family!

As the title says…just took delivery of a 2026 sport. I’m coming from a lyriq so im pretty familiar with everything…but I just realized that the vistiq is still on Android 12 (my lyriq was on 14). Do most of you still have Android 12 or 14?
