i eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner and usually a snack and a drink in the afternoon. however my portions are usually relatively small (like i can eat 3/4 of a trader joes microwave meal for reference lol). which meal plan should i get?
Hi everyone, I’m an incoming freshman for Fall 2026 at Cal Poly SLO. I checked my student portal, but my financial aid information still says “no information available.”
I already submitted FAFSA, so I’m starting to get worried. Does anyone know when Cal Poly usually posts or distributes financial aid packages for incoming students?
As an EE major, I really wish that the registration system can fix itself fast enough for me to take classes I have to repeat due to semester conversion.
As a transfer student this year, I took EE306 and its lab for fall 2025, and from that point on, I was unable to take EE307 due to me not being able to take CPE133 (which I was not able to take due to me not having EE111 completed). And now that the semester conversion is coming up, I want to take EE3306, but the system is straight up telling me it’s not possible because I passed EE306.
EE3306 is a class that is equivalent to EE306 and EE307, so I’ve basically only completed half the course and thus am required to take the class again.
I’ve emailed the EE office about this and they only just tell me to wait as I’m seeing seats being taken for the available classes I can fit in my schedule.
This is so frustrating, and it’s making me wish that my past self was smart enough to take CPE133 instead of EE306. At this rate, my graduation date is going to be delayed by a whole year.
Maybe I have been living under a rock, but am I the only one that didn’t know about the registration changes (max of 15 units during round 1, used to be 18, plus getting rid of round 2)? I want to take more than 15 units fall semester, but I can’t add any more than 15 until open enrollment on August 15th, which is 9 days before the semester starts. That seems crazy to me.
Just want to express how happy I am that Cal Poly has been phasing out the automatic soap dispensers and replacing them with the ones that you press. If it ain't broke don't fix it! That is all.
i'm just wondering why students dont attend these meetings. the stuff they talk about has an effect on all residents of slo. what's your reasoning for attending or not attending?
also if you do want to go there's one tonight at 5:30 pm downtown!
Im a transfer student going into my last year here and i have to take csc 3300 programming languages (previously csc 430) for fall 2026. Its taught by staff and ive heard that its just a random cs professor that teaches it from a classmate but is that true? Should i switch to a class that actually has a prof? Any advice would be great ty
Reposting u/akeen's email blast from earlier today since one of these is a class I’m hoping to take, and this might help anyone else who was still deciding.
Also, note for Summer Quarter financial aid: if you are an in-state student and have an SAI of 2000 or lower, you probably qualify for a summer grant to cover full tuition if you enroll in at least half-time (6 units), plus a summer Pell grant based on the number of units you take. If you register for at least 6 units, watch for an email in 1-2 weeks confirming summer financial aid was posted.

Folks,
I understand that the shortened summer due to the transition to semesters has raised a variety of complications, not least of which is the desire to enjoy a break before Fall begins in August.
With that, I must share that the following summer courses are at risk of being canceled due to low enrollment. If you were thinking about taking one of the following but had not yet decided, now is a good time to make that decision.
At risk:
CSC 101
CSC 202
CSC 349
CSC 365
CSC 445
CSC 477
Already cancelled:
CSC 307
CSC 410
Change:
CSC 364 must change to the 5-week session with a new instructor
To be added:
CSC 357
Full:
CSC 453 — though the online version appears to be very popular, there is no additional capacity for this summer. There are, however, multiple sections, CSC 4553 on semesters, in Fall and Spring.
Kind regards,
Aaron
Is anyone else feeling completely burned out this quarter? I feel like this quarter went by so fast and so freaking slow at the same time. I'm doing shit in one class and just passing my other classes, but I'm already so done. I feel so defeated. Maybe it's because I'm a transfer, does anyone else?
How much does Cal Poly care about low AP scores if I'm already admitted? I want to use my free AP score send but I'm pretty sure I did bad on my AP Micro exam and don't want it to send automatically it if it's below a 3. I couldn't find any information on whether or not it would hurt to send in a low score.
Hey, I'm going into my Senior year and I have appointment coming up! I currently have 9 units and needed 3 more units to be full-time. Can anyone pls recommend any easy classes? I perfer Async or easy in person! I really don't want to take 3 KINE classes.
Like is there grade deflation? If I put in the work is it hard to get a 3.9+ GPA?
So, I was going to take the second year of language during the spring semester through community college. Now, due to some circumstances, I was not able to take the second year of language during the spring and plan to do so over the summer. But, my class ends on July 4th when Cal poly requires my college transcript by july 1st. Will I be rescinded for this?
Has anyone seen any waitlist movement? I'm in state and haven't heard of anyone getting off the waitlist so far. If you have, please lmk in the comments along with ur major. Thanks.
Hey all! I recently built a a workout tracking app called Fortis: Workout Log & Tracker and am looking for Cincinnati students to try it out and give me honest feedback. It's kind of like Strava but for the gym. You can log workouts, track progress over time, build custom exercises and templates, and share progress with friends on the app.
Still early but I think it's genuinely useful if you're trying to stay consistent.
Free on iOS and Android. Would love any feedback, good or bad, if you give it a shot.
Hey guys! There is a walkout this Friday at 10:45 am on Dexter Lawn. If you're not comfortable getting out of class early, it's ok to come at 11. This is a protest against admin's blatant refusal to listen to students amid ongoing negotiations. We need any possible support or presence. Every person there will make a difference. Please consider showing up.
We have more updates on interactions with admin that we will share in the coming weeks from our communication with them. Admin is openly giving out false and misleading information while refusing to act on student needs. Admin acknowledges that Flock's technology will make immigrant students and minorities more vulnerable but refuses to make changes. It's tiring for everyone, but a reminder that admin is counting on us to not show up and not speak out and quietly accept their decisions.
Do you know the way to Linnaea’s Cafe? I hope so because I am hosting the night of a lifetime on Friday, June 12th at 5:30pm to 7:30pm, “To Be Cringe Is To Be Free: The Drag Show”! 😬🙈

“Cringe” describes an intense feeling of awkwardness, embarrassment, or second-hand discomfort caused by someone else’s actions, often making the viewer want to hide or look away. In modern slang, it is used as an adjective for something embarrassing, uncool, or awkward (e.g., “Q-Bie’s dancing is soooo cringe”).
-
Think about memes that just don’t land anymore, tired of hearing 6️⃣7️⃣ everywhere you go? Does your professor use “on fleek” unironically? Do you feel physical pain when you see someone dab in the year 2026? Come to the show if you want to laugh at us and cry with uncontrollable uncomfortability!!

I am currently an income freshman for CS and did some research on what classes i’ll most likely be taking granted i get a 4+ on calc bc. to people who are already there and having done these classes, does this seem like a hard/more rigorous schedule? or is this on the lighter end. also any suggestions on a GE/free elective if i want to minor in business?
