Metal detecting on the beaches of Vancouver has yielded me many peculiarly-worn specimens like this 1997 dime. I suppose salt water is the cause but most coins I find which were destroyed by salt water don’t end up like this. Some do, but most don’t.

Every middle schoolers favourite set

I’m an Aussie collector of Canadian coins and have put the 67 set together for an arm and a leg. Got a bargain on the $1, 10c, 5c and 1c, but the bobcat and the wolf are pretty hard to come by here.

The 50c has some beautiful pink and purple toning, the lighting might not show it off as much

I used the ping test on the 10c and 25c. Unfortunately both are 50%, the peaks on a ping test app showed that the 10c was the same as a 1968 10c (50%) whereas the 25c was different from a 1961 25c (80%, don’t have a 1968 25c to test)

And yes I teach middle schoolers in Perth. I put so many 67s into my tests that they’re starting to get tired of 67 now

My Canadian Bill Collection (So Far)

This has taken me a lot longer than I expected.

I got the scenery series quickly ('79), but I actually started with the Devil's Face notes, and they are hard to get without spending crazy cash. and I want the '37 series, but also expensive. Ugh.

The '35s are going to kill me.

Then it will be the pre-35s after I get all of these. See you next year? lmao

1965 UNC sets from my Grandpa's collection

My Grandpa bought for my birth year, 10 sets of 1965 uncirculated including certificates and original envelopes (and the two small packages they were delivered in!). I haven't gone through his stuff for a while - love your feedback, are these a popular among collectors?

Are they realistically worth anything more than a buck each?

Missing plating

Found this 2002 Canada Day Quarter that looks like it has had its nickel plating removed or improbably, came that way from the Mint?

Just got this at the bank. Is it worth more than face value?

Saw some lady depositing this chunk of $5.00 bills I asked the teller if I could buy them and bought all 129 of them. Are they worth anything? Majority of them are crisp no folds.

Approximate value of my friends coins.

Hi! The pics are a bit fuzzy; my friend is helping her mom sort through her late aunts house, and she sent these pics to me. Any idea what they could be worth? The last dime pictured is a 1913. She has no idea where to start with what’s been left to her, and I told her I’d ask all of you what they might be worth. SW Ontario. Thanks in advance!

Are these worth keeping for long term in the collection or not?

I recently found a couple pocket finds as shown in the first picture. However I also have some rolls of silver quarters passed down from my grandfather before he passed. Are these rolls worth holding onto long term or should I sort through for the ones worth more than melt and sell the rest.

Going through a pot of pennies I picked at my dad's

Is this the famous 1965 pointy? Thanks!

Did I find something?

Found this toonie and noticed it felt and looks different. Is this anything special? Or is it just another toonie?
