California accident case: can I sell my damaged car before liability is accepted?

I need advice because my lawyer barely responds to my questions.

I was in a car accident over a month ago in California. I was driving straight through a green light and the other driver turned left into me. I had no dash cam, and the other driver is denying fault, so liability still hasn’t been accepted.

My car was already older/high mileage, and after the accident it has noticeable damage and is making concerning noises. KBB value before the accident was only around $2,250, and I can still probably sell it damaged for around half of that before it completely dies.

I only had liability insurance, and honestly it feels smarter to replace the car now instead of risking it becoming worthless. I also don’t have room to store two cars.

However, my lawyer told me not to get rid of the car, but didn’t explain why.

Is it actually a bad idea to sell or dispose of the car before liability is decided? Could it still be needed as evidence if the other driver keeps denying fault?

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Car accident in Santa Rosa, CA

Car was in our driveway. There was a cement truck blocking a large part of our driveway and had been left there for over 15 minutes. Driver had walked away. We back out and get around the truck but back into the chute that was extended out with no cones or flags or anything. Keep in mind that the chute was extended past the truck for 4 feet or so and elevated from the ground around 3 feet.

Who is at fault?

Do car accident lawyers actually use third-party investigators to prove fault?

I was in a car accident about 1.5 month ago in Los Angeles. The other driver lied at the scene and claimed I ran a red light, but I was driving straight through a green light and they hit me while turning left. I didn’t have a dash cam, so I hired a lawyer mainly because I wanted help proving I wasn’t at fault.

My lawyer keeps telling me they sent a third-party investigator but haven’t gotten a response yet.

I’m curious — do lawyers actually use third-party investigators for cases like this? And can it really take over a month to get camera footage, witnesses, or intersection evidence? (Police incident report has the witness phone number clearly)

I’m getting anxious because I feel like nothing is happening, and I don’t know how long these investigations usually take

Compensation

anyone here done the compensation process, i would like advice.

so 18 months ago i was in a car accident, i was 16 at the time, I am now 18 in a week and its still messing around my life.

I almost died and had sustained bad leg/knee injuries and medical mismanagement has led to 3 further serious knee injuries including unhealed fractures and losing the ability to walk randomly a month ago, I also lost two teeth, sustained a TBI thats still presenting 18mths later and memory loss, had plastic surgery to fix up my face, I refused to drive a car for 18 months, I ended up with Bipolar 1 and hospitalized 3 times in 6 months, and dropped out of high school and couldnt work my part time job anymore so I have lost heaps of money

Thats all I can think of right now, there is so much more, but anyone whos done compensation for an accident, can I have some advice on whether I should be going after it or is my story not bad enough for a payout

Wait to see if they have insurance? Or get an attorney right away?

Hello everyone (: I was in a car accident, and I don’t know if they have insurance or not. My insurance adjuster said she can’t get in contact with the other driver & they may not be insured - I still have to wait for the police report. Should I wait to see if they have insurance or should I get an attorney right away? What’s the best route of action. Thank you for the help . I’m currently having simple headaches turning into severe.

need advice

basically i was driving home on the highway by the pentagon going 50, and another vehicle starts to merge directly next to me from the left, essentially side swiping me. i was okay but slightly swerved back into place. also i had gotten this car in September, and this was december. so i pulled to the shoulder first and he follows behind me. i showed him the scratches he left, he says that he didnt cause them and denying everything basically. i really hesitated on calling insurance or making a report because the scratches really arent that serious but its the fact that he didnt take responsibility for it. i felt like it could have ended so much worse. so im wondering if i should make a proper report now or just forget it ? 🙏🏻
