Where do I find how much funding I got

Hello!! I just received an offer for the Masters program, and I’m so excited about it? Where can I find the details about the funding? I couldn’t find it in offer letter, and don’t honestly know where else should I look for it..

Eng @ Carleton

Hello, I'm currently considering going to Carleton for engineering and I just have a few questions

  1. How hard is it to maintain/achieve the 8.0 CGPA requirement for coop?
  2. Is the coop program actually good at CU, or is it just a gimmick
  3. How hard is it to transfer to other disciplines (mech e rn but considering ee)

Any insight is appreciated :D

advice needed! (eng)

hello, im an 08 with some questions regarding eng @ carleton. I was accepted into Biomedical Electrical Engineering (fall 2026), and my goal is to break into big tech. I was wondering if this program is a good fit. Looking at the courses, it is pretty EE heavy. should I still apply to normal EE or try switching after first year? please help me out

Maintaining grades question

I’m coming to Carleton in September for mechatronics engineering and was wondering how hard is it to maintain a 80% or a 10.0 gpa, to renew my entrance scholarship.

Random Fact Of The Day: Carleton officially split MATH2000 to MATH2001 and MATH2002.

They also introduced a “Scientific Computing” course for the H.B.C.S & M degree students!

Can non-Bio majors usually get into Intro Bio?

I'm interested in taking intro to bio, but I'm doing a BA in psyc. I am curious how likely I am to get in? from what I understand, priority seats go to bio and biochem majors first, then bio minors, and the rest of the seats afterwards are given to others (correct me if im wrong).

Disgusting tuition increase for international students

I’m an international nursing student. Last year, our tuition was 38.8k (Sept–April). The posted tuition for Fall 2026 was originally 41k, which was ok (screenshot evidence in the comment)

But I just received an email saying the tuition will increase to 59.3k for fall 2026. That’s a 52.5% increase!!

However, Carleton has put it clearly on its website that "international tuition fees are subject to an annual increase of 5-8% pending Senate approval".

To incoming international nursing students: don't come to Carleton. UOttawa is way cheaper and offers 70k scholarships while Carleton is doing this to us.

DM me if you'd like to join us/ sign a collective email. The official tuition will be posted by the end of June, so we still have room to speak up about it.

Update: Carleton has changed the tuition back to 43k so I'm happy 😊 wish you all the best

Shoutout the students who nominated their TAs for the TA award.

Today I received an email that a student nominated me for a TA award. Although I didn’t win, I appreciated them nominating me. They wrote some really kind things in their nomination.

It is often a thankless job and we are often blamed for things outside our control (like course and university policies). I can’t speak for all TAs, but I do try my best to support my students and to set them up for success. As we enter into another year of budget cuts, please be kind to your TAs. Our workload keeps increasing (especially in this age of AI-slopification) while still being expected to deliver the same level of quality. We are trying our best!

Office sauna sweats

Carleton is in the process of fully converting my office into a sauna.
It’s great because instead of going doing exercise to fully cover myself in sweat, I just have to sit at my desk and attempt to concentrate.
I hope they install the Kiuas soon so I can benefit from the steam.

Why is there nowhere to eat on campus right now?

I've taken summer school the last few years and there have always been adequate places to eat. It's currently 5:20pm and there is absolutely nowhere to eat right now. Why did the school think this was a good idea??

Why did you choose Carleton?

Especially I’d love to hear from MA ALDS and MA TEAL students: what made you choose Carleton?

I’m considering CU for the next year as an international student, and would like to hear more unique things in here.

Thanks a lot

Finding a roommate for summer is actually painful

My roommates and I have a spot opening up in June in the ByWard Market 🥲 and either the timing is just terrible or everyone who messages needs August instead.

It's an $800 room, right by the O-Train, and the house has a dishwasher and laundry plus our common area has a direct view of the Ottawa sign.

If you guys need a place or know someone who does feel free to dm me ⚰️ Also need to know I'm not the only one struggling with the roommate hunt lol we already posted in who knows how many places, Facebook, the housing portal, roomies, etc… do you guys have any tips on where else to look?

CMail

Hey guys. When I try to log onto my Cmail account on Outlook, it tells me to verify on Authenticator. But when I try to go on Authenticator to get the code, it asks me to verify my email on Authenticator while I am on the app, therefore not letting me see the code. I am locked out of the Carleton email. What should I do?
