what's the weirdest thing ur cat does that you've just accepted as normal?
reddit.comMale calico cat with 4 ears.

Why does my cat sit like this?
She does this little front tail tuck and looks so polite my older cat never sits like that what does this body language mean?
Play‑fighting or just fighting? New study suggests a rethink on how we play with cats
"Have you ever watched online videos of people “playing” with cats and noticed the cat doesn’t actually look like they’re having fun? If so, you’re likely better than the average person at reading cat body language.
Regular interactive play supports cats’ physical health, reduces stress, and strengthens the human–cat bond.
But according to our most recent study, what many people think of as “play” may not be play at all. In fact, these interactions cause cats annoyance or stress.
When playing, both human and cat need to tell apart behaviours that might be threatening in other contexts, such as sudden movements, swatting or chasing.
Research shows people struggle to interpret cat communication and often fail to notice when a cat doesn’t want to play. Even when they do notice, many people choose to continue anyway."
How many cats have you owned?
I was chatting with an older man who shared he's had 8-10 cats in his life. Guessing he's around late 60s, maybe even 70s. That seems like a lot to me but then again I've only owned two. Both my girls were my first pets and I got them about two years apart when I was in my 20s. My first cat, who was my heart and soul, lived to be about 17 years old. My other baby is a grouchy old bitty who just turned 18.
For me, my pets are family so can't imagine [getting] a new cat(s) after they pass. I'm guessing this is what the older man did with his 8-10 cats. Anyway, is this normal cat ownership? Also curious to know how many cats you've had in your lifetime? If you've had more than a few, do you [seek a new cat companion] shortly after they pass or is there a waiting period?
Edit- some people have issues with me using the word replace. I didn't mean in a way you replace an old toothbrush or any other inanimate object. So I changed the wording.
What’s the weirdest sleeping position you’ve ever caught your cat in?
Why do cats like sitting on your lap?
Earlier, it was scared even to be touched. Now it’s so comfortable sitting on my lap. Seeing that change feels so special—honestly, it’s a feeling I can’t even explain.
How are you planning to spend International Cat Day today?
Cat owners: Could you spare 3–4 minutes for my UX research survey? 🐈
Hi everyone!
I'm a cat owner and a UX Design student, and I'm currently working on a case study inspired by my own experience when my cat had an accident. It made me realize how stressful it can be to figure out whether something is serious, especially when vets aren't immediately available.
I'm researching how cat owners make decisions about their cat's health, where they look for information, and what kind of support would actually be helpful.
If you have 3–4 minutes, I'd be so grateful if you could fill out my anonymous survey. Whether you're a first-time cat parent or you've had cats for years, your experience would really help me create a better design.

Thank you so much for helping a fellow cat parent and design student! ❤️
What’s the weirdest habit your cat has that lives in your head rent-free?
My cat has this absolute nonsense routine where he insists on inspecting my shoes EVERY SINGLE TIME I come back home. He doesn't just sniff them—he buries his entire face inside, pauses for 5 seconds like he’s reviewing a fine wine, and then gives me this judgmental look.
It made me realize how every cat has their own bizarre little quirks that make zero sense to us humans.
What’s that one super specific, weird thing your cat does that always makes you stop and ask *"Why are you like this?"*
Drop their quirks (and pics if you have them)! I need a laugh today.
