A better way to add sound to chess game?

I'm using scripting to animate full chess games and it works great. I basically set up the board dynamically and then populate the pieces with keyframes to the move location, all good on that end.

The issue is adding sound. The way I did it was I had the 3 sounds move, capture, check and then just duplicated them and added them to the corresponding frame on the timeline and it works but the above game is 111 moves so thats 111+ sounds and it got so slow.

Is there a way to do add the sounds into an array and then use a duplicator? or like make an array of the frame number the sound is supposed to be on and play the sound on that frame number? Any way to avoid adding a layer for each move?

Thanks

*****EDIT******

Apparently Cavalry does a lot of processing to audio so when 100+ audio clip layers, even very short ones, are added the processing compounds. So i did a few things that actually worked, not sure which one to give credit to but I did the following:

  1. Put Frequency Bands as low as possible, 2 - Put Smoothing Steps and Sub Steps to 0 - and turned off A-Weighting, I have no idea what it is but it sounds like processing so i turned it off

  2. When creating the sounds i chunked them into folders of 20 instead of all in one folder

Now it works great, audio can be added

Layer hierarchy with parent/child layers?

I have a character with a torso and 4 limbs, the legs are behind the torso, visually, and the arms are before the torso.

Now, I want to use the torso layer as a parent to the limb layers, so when I animate the torso, the limbs move with it.

In after effects I would just drag the parent/child controller of every limb to the torso, without having to move the layers, so the visual hierarchy would remain the same, but in Cavalry, it seems the only way to parent/child layers is putting the childs inside the parent layer, this causes the arms to be behind the torso, and I don't want that.

How can I resolve this? Any help is appreciated!

Still no idea how Landor did this! Any thoughts???

So, for the past few weeks I've been trying to do something like this Landor animation for West Loop.

— I tried both BOA and Omnio Snake but both deform typography on the curves, which is not the case in the original animation;

Cavalry Knot behaviour makes typography jump between trim paths so that won't do it;

— I tried The Video Shop tutorial and although is the most similar way to do it, I still think that they didn't made it like that. (99% perfect, works but takes me almost 1h to render a 10 second video);

— I tried vibecoding an app to make this effect but the same problem happens again: Under and/or Over paths just don't work, they get mixed.

Did anyone found how they did this or did anyone found a way to do it? (beside the The Video Shop way)

If you want to join forces, We can speak about it.
If you managed to do it, please hit me up!
