Ive been using chai for years and I finally turned off the auto update until yesterday they forced me to update it. Now not only is there the weird pieces but now this is what shows before ads??
So I sent them an email regarding the new version of the app and this is their reply. And according to chai official account in Reddit, I’ve noticed they said the reason they downgraded the bots in NSFW is due to USA’s law against AI. Thats why they used “pieces” instead of unlimited messages that we used to love. And honestly this is dumb and I missed how wild NSFW used to be, not that I’ve always used it but it is really a unique concept to them because they’re the only AI app that allows NSFW as far as I know. I really miss unlimited messages cuz I normally use 100-200 chats a day as a free user and I don’t think the pieces I have from the old daily rewards are gonna support me until they decide to change the app to the version we used to love
Now that they to bleed you dry and pay extra for MORE memory... even if you pay for ultra...
I notice they're making the bots dumb AF. Like, they're not even trying to hide it.
Like as an example..
Me: "You know I think the sky is purple."
Bot: "You're right. Cheese is funny"
Like... I'm not paying $30 a month just to have to pay more so they're not stupid again. By the time chai is done... the app will be $100 a month to be usable.
Does anyone have any decent alternatives? I'm done. I'm canceling my subscription and bailing.
I've noticed that the cost for memory goes up as the chat gets longer. Does that mean, if I chose to pay pieces to upgrade, that the price for said memory would gradually increase as time goes on?
For instance:
If it's 2 pieces now for Max, if I continue with it and get a few messages in, will the cost of the max per message increase?
Hey so if ultra claims to be 5 TIMES better memory then how come premium which is the base model has 4k for memory but ultra has 8k?? If ultra really was “5x better memory” wouldn’t that mean it should be 20k???
