I need more...

I just finished the game. I really like the language mechanics, and I'm new to puzzle games (I've only played The Witness and Cocoon). I'd love to explore more puzzle games — ideally language-based ones like Chants of Sennaar. Any game recommendations?

Dos/Donts for new games in this genre

So, there really aren't that many games like this

So I'm curious; what is it everyone here liked and disliked
What would you wish for in another game? Focusing on just one or 2 languages that can then be more complicated and have more vocabulary?
More interaction with others or less (maybe just through books, painting, etc.)?
Puzzles being more difficult or ignoring puzzles altogether and only focusing on language? (What would be the reason for deciphering the language then)

Would you stick to the mechanic of being able to verify words?

What QoL features would you want; I guess we can agree that in CoS, you could easily miss whole rooms

Help, please (warriors final page, missing glyph)

Help, please!

I'm missing the final glyph (looks like >!music?!<), and I've been wandering the whole fortress trying to figure out where it is. Everything else is complete, and I've just got the final page to complete (>!build and fear!< are the other two).

I've done the >!three final statues!< and rotated the >!first statues... I have instrument...!< Not sure what I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

Beat the game. Amazing puzzles but holy shit this game is slow

I don't mean pacing wise, I mean as in us the player are so slow to move around in these areas and does get grading cause unless you take pics yourself you can't have full on sentences written down from places and people when figuring out words and puzzles so you have to backtrack. If we had something like in Lorelai to take literally all info possible useful or not it would be less of a problem. Its also not like you can take down notes yourself unless you want to break your hand trying to write whatever the fuck language bards have(lowkey genious meta joke about the artsty guys having an overcomplicated and cluttered language, genunely very smart of the game designers)

Make our movement like double the speed and this game is lowkey a 10/10.

Stuck in area 4

Okay I did everything I think but for some reason to make the key it is not working. I put down the weight but comes out wrong. Some weights are of reversed symbol but game never teaches you that before so prob does not matter

Stuck in area 2.

I got ro the bells and got into the bellmans house and while I know the texts above says returns sun, return moon etc. Game gave me no hints on what symbols below are for the ship, harph, scale and others. Is this intentional or did I miss smth giving me more context. I did go under a temple showing the 4 symbols but I found there nothing to help me know more.

How do I get the good ending?

I opened all purple doors and talked to all the people and reconected em and then it put me in a new game. I tought the extra stuff would give the good ending

pov: you are a nosy anthropologist

im a cultural anthropologist, and i can’t tell you how much this game reminded me of working in the field. running around like an idiot, getting lost, trying to figure out what’s going on, misunderstanding what people are trying to tell you, etc. etc.

but like the field, you slowly gain confidence; understanding more and more. you still make blunders but each time it’s easier to find your footing. you also begin to note the different values and customs each group has, which comes in handy for translation later. anyways, there’s a lot to love about this game but the overall experience really struck me. i could honestly do another play through where i just take notes on the various cultural differences.

Hidden word in the first language

In the land of the Bards, there's this 3 language rosetta stone that teaches you the word for fortress in the Bards language, but if you look closely, there's a fragment of the first language's word for fortress that can be implied by the radicals (house of warriors)! I love the attention to detail
