If you're wondering about the macOS Tahoe warning about TOS won't be working in the next version, don't worry. TOS is already bundled with the ARM version of Java which is native to Apple M series Macs. What they have missed is the launcher app where if you right click on the thinkorswim icon and Get Info it reads "(Application(Intel)". This is only a wrapper to the app underneath so the good news is TOS is not going away.

What you need is replace that icon app with my fix below. This one line code will replace the icon you have and it's no longer Application(Intel) because it's (Universal) meaning native on MacBook M series.

Open a terminal, paste the code below. Make sure you replace your user name in the command line first and then click enter. Now you should have a new desktop icon for thinkorswim. Double click that to run. BOOM!!! It's that easy!!!!

I’m having such a difficult time with Merrill; they just do not communicate back even something basic such as we are working on your request.

Before moving everything to Schwab, I want to make sure that I am getting into a worse situation.

Will they be participating? Will there be specific regulations of their own? With the PDT rule changing in a few weeks I can’t find anything with Schwabs take on it

I'm not even sure where to start with this because it seems quite convoluted to me with all of the entities/factors involved...

• My grandfather passed away and I am the successor trustee for his schwab account.
• He has a Trust.
• He does not have a Will.
• I have access to his Schwab account since he gave me his username/pw. This is not Schwab authorized access. I helped my grandfather with moving funds in/out of his Schwab account and buying some stocks/funds when he asked. He told me he would give me full account access (Schwab authorized) but I never followed up with it.
• HIs Schwab account is still in his name (it was never renamed/funded into the Trust)
• He has 4 account types for his Schwab account (here they are with beneficiary status):
  1. one Individual account that is managed by Fisher Investments--no beneficiary named per the Schwab website
  2. another is a Rollover IRA--the Trust is the Beneficiary
  3. another is a Roth Contributary IRA -- the Trust is the Beneficiary
  4. and another Individual account -- no beneficiary named
• I have not notified Schwab or Fisher investments of his passing.

My goal is to gain access to the funds so I can make a distributions to beneficiaries without probate. I really just want to get this over as soon as I can. I am just beside myself that he passed away and I don't want to focus on this much more.

Here are my main concerns/questions:

A. Could I log into his account and add the Trust as beneficiary to his 2 accounts that don't have beneficiaries? My concern is that Schwab may, at some point, notice that the beneficiary was named after he passed.

B. Could I log into his Schwab account and grant myself account access so I can remove Fisher Investments as advisor and, also, add the Trust as beneficiary to the 2 accounts that don't have beneficiaries named?

C. Could his account that Fisher Investment manages, have a listed beneficiary? He didn't have online access to his Fisher account, he always just talked to a Fisher representative over the phone.

D. What's likely to happen with his two Schwab accounts that don't have listed beneficiaries?

E. Who should I notify first of his passing? Schwab or Fisher? I imagine if I notify Schwab first, the online account will be locked and Fisher won't speak with me about the beneficiary, if any, for his Fisher Investments managed account. If I contact Fisher Investments first, about his passing, they may still not provide me the beneficiary, if any, and they will notify Schwab and they will lock the online account.

Deposited a settlement check from a law firm into my bank account On Tuesday

At first, the bank made only $60 available, which I expected. Then 12hours later around 11:30pm they made about half the check available, so I used part of it to pay bills. Later that morning, 7am the money was still available in my account. I woke up later that day, since I work night shift to discover they reversed the available funds and put the entire check back on hold.

I called them to ask what was going on, and they stated they received information the check “may not be honored.” Whatever that’s is suppose to mean, they would not dive deeper into it. I asked them if they confirmed it with the bank or with the law firm to which they said they don’t know how the other department does things. I was then told by Support to “be careful accepting checks” and that I should really watch out who I accept checks from. After the phone call I attempted to login to my bank account but found out they then suspended my bank account. I called support back and they stated that there is nothing they can do to unlock my account and now my entire bank account is suspended and can not be using giving me no access to my money I had before the check. They are my only bank, and now I was restricted from my money.

The support told me the only way to get it lifted is if I faxed them over proof that the check was real and any information regarding the check, I then faxed everything over and was advised I have to wait until the next business day for them to receive it…..

The next day (Thursday) I called support and they stated they did not receive anything….. and I was advised if I wanted to speed things up to visit a branch

I called the law firm to confirm everything was correct on their end to which they stated yes everything was good and that the check cleared on their end Wednesday and they stated my bank never reached out to them and stated that they would be happy to provide any additional information needed if the bank called them

I went to branch that same day and advised them of the situation, they stated they would add all the documents to their system but stated they can no lift the suspension on my account and stated that there is no way to contact the department investigating the check except through email and stated I have to just wait…… They did say before leaving the funds for the check will be available on 21st of May

So that’s where I am at right now, I have no access to money, I don’t know when this will be lifted.
The worst part of this whole thing is there was zero communication for any of it. I was never advised of anything, they They made part of the funds available, let me use them, and then later removed the availability without warning after I had already made payments. If they believed there was an issue with the check, I don’t understand why any portion was released in the first place.

Now I’m left dealing with possible returned payments and fees while getting very limited information from the bank about what actually happened.

I was also supposed to be paid Thursday and I have bills that were supposed to come out but now they won’t since everything is suspended…..

This is my first time dealing with anything like this, my previous bank was TD Bank and it had its fair share of problems, (too many fees) but I never had issues depositing checks with them

Is there anything else I can do or is my only chance to wait?

I've read there are monetary benefits to using one, can anyone enlighten me with there experience? I haven't signed up yet. To be clear, I'm signing up for the Schwab Bank Investor Checking Account.

Has anyone had a Schwab brokerage account placed under review for trades involving unsettled or unpaid funds/free-riding? Schwab reversed or removed the profits tied to those trades, and the account is still restricted while they review next steps, possibly account closure. I’m not trying to keep trading; I just want my remaining settled cash released or wired out. For anyone who went through something similar, how long did the review take after the profit reversal, and when were your remaining funds released? Not asking for legal advice or SAR details — just trying to understand Schwab’s timeline/process from people with similar experience.
