Question! Thinking about buying a Trax

Thinking about buying a Trax, either new or 2025/26 used. Coming from a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that’s just been a nonstop nightmare over the many years. If it isn’t one things it’s another and I never want to own a Jeep ever again. Tried to lemon law it back in the day but dealer talked us out of it every time.

Anyways back to the Trax, wanted some owners opinion’s, we are worried that it has no vents in the second row like our Jeep does. Does it get too hot or cold back there? We have a baby now and tired of the Jeep breaking down, I’m just worried about it getting too hot back there in a Trax.

Thank you!

Edit: if we do get a Trax, we plan on getting one in white to help with the heat.

The little cubby hole in the trunk

I'm pleased to report it holds a six pack of silo cans quite well.

New (to me) 2025 shifting gears at 5000 rpm on freeway. Normal?

I just got this car yesterday (30,000 miles) and I have been trying to feel it out to see if it is shifting hard, or I am just not used to a turbo engine. I was going 60 on the freeway and pushed it to 80. It changed gears at 5000 rpm. Is that normal, or does that seem high?

CarPlay Infotainment System Issue - Chevy Trax

I bought a brand-new 2025 Chevy Trax 1RS back in 2024, and I’ve had ongoing issues with the infotainment system. It was glitchy, and the backup camera would randomly switch to a fisheye view and even stay on while I was driving.
About a week ago, the dealership replaced the entire infotainment system. Unfortunately, the day after I picked it up, I realized that wireless Apple CarPlay no longer works. It works perfectly if I plug my phone in, but not wirelessly.
I’ve tried just about everything I can think of: restarting my phone, forgetting and reconnecting both my iPhone and MyChevrolet, resetting the infotainment system to factory settings, testing my boyfriends android… no luck.
I do have it booked back into the dealership, but the earliest appointment is three weeks away. Has anyone else run into this after having their infotainment system replaced? Any suggestions or fixes I can try in the meantime?
Sincerely,
A very frustrated Chevy owner. 🚗😅

I just want to vent.

F*** this car. Right in the ass. Once one thing goes wrong, it all starts falling apart. I'm a heavy driver but I learned to drive sensible at one of my old jobs and even still drive 5 mph under speed limit. Yesterday I needed a new valve cover because the PCV had stopped working. Spent$250 for them not to seal it right. On the way home, getting on the highway not doing hard acceleration but getting up to speed It gives me hell and the transmission clanked but then when I got home white smoke came out the tail pipe, but the engine seems fine. Ever since the radiator fan was out 3 weeks ago, I had an impending doom feeling.

Still owe $7k.

Trax noises

Just when I'm about to make a big move, Trax started to sound like this out of the blue.

This is the second noise that I get in regards to throttle push, Turbo was doing some weird noise (kinda like a bearing sound) when let go of throttle. That has been happening for over a year and dealership workshop don't even have an answer for that.

Does anyone here with same or similar issues?

My first big purchase

I am so excited about my Trax Activ-Cacti Green (more of a sage, mint green imo) 🍵. It has a lot of features and room and now I don’t have to crawl out of the car (I had a little 2012 Chevy Volt trade-in). It has CarPlay which I love! The back up cam is so good imo. The turbo engine was rough at first driving it but now, I got the hang of it and the little gear shifter buttons is an added little thing I love. The sound system seems great, 5 seater… idk I think it was an amazing deal and I love the added maintenance insurance I got!

100,000 miles! … coming up

I’m just a normal guy who enjoys driving my car and having fun with it. I really enjoy reading everyone’s posts here and on Reddit, seeing the different modifications, maintenance tips, road trips, and just how much people enjoy their Trax.

My 2024 Chevy Trax 2RS is sitting at 96,000 miles as of today, and if everything goes as planned, it’ll hit 100,000 miles by the end of the month. It’s been a great car and has treated me well since I bought new with 3 miles.

Just for fun, I’m curious, if this were your Trax, what would you do to celebrate the 100,000 mile milestone? A special road trip? A few upgrades or mods? A full detail? Preventive maintenance? Maybe even something completely random?

I’d love to hear your ideas. Thanks in advance!

Considering 2023/24 Trax

Edit: I know now that there is no 2023 Trax :)

I’m considering buying a used Trax, hopefully a 23/24 with around 30,000 miles. There’s some options at local dealerships with prices that are within my budget.

My last car from a dealership was a Kia Niro hybrid (which was totaled in an accident, sadly). With what I’m looking for, hybrids are out of my price range; so considering the Trax. I’m test driving soon, but -

I want to know people’s honest opinions, is it comfy, how does it drive, what’s the mileage like, what are your petty complaints? TIA!

Saying goodbye soon!

My 2025 2RS Crimson metallic was loved, but was a lemon. The first new car I ever bought, go figure. I will be transitioning to my next vehicle, a 2026 Trax 2RS in Apex Red in the coming weeks, courtesy of GM. Shout out to Mauer Chevrolet in Inver Grove Heights. As long as they have their team in place, I will be a customer.

Cross Climates 2s.

Really excited to run these things. The OE tires on the new gen trax are way too noisy, but it is an economy vehicle.

Small QOL mods/upgrades?

Hey friends,

Taking home my new-to-me ‘24 trax Activ later today. I’m wondering what sort of little practical quality of life improving mods or upgrades yall are doing. Thanks in advance!

What should I do?

So I’ve had my car for about 2 years. I loved the way it ran but I’ve had to take it to the dealership so many times. It’s in the dealership right now. What should I do? Do I trade it in?
