Hello,
I got this for free in a coin shop, not specialised in Asian currency (mostly European and North American one).
Do you have idea if it a real or a modern lucky charm?
In any cas: what can it be?
Thank you!
1916 $1 known as the “Flying Dragon”. Just got it back from PCGS… enjoy!
Hello,
I got the chance to visit the Guangxi numismatic museum in Nanning.
Access: DiDi or subway line 2, Nanjing theatre station exit B2, 20mins walk.
1st floor is about old currency, Chinese and Guangxi oriented.
2nd floor is more about trading routes around China, Vietnam under France and USA war.
I got a few Chinese coins in my collection.
I am curious if y'all think they are fake or not. I am really ignorant in this area of my collection and don't like relying on AI for an "authentication" check.
Weighs 28.2g.
Based on my research the translations I got are:
大中元年制 = Made in the First Year of Dazhong
御銀壹兩 = Imperial Silver – One Tael
The first year of Dazhong would date it 847 AD, but I do not believe it to be this old. I believe it is late Qing to early Republican timing, when my family was in Sichuan.
Any help is appreciated.
