Midnight: Mineta Stop!

(Mineta looks at Midnight before rolling his eyes towards Aizawa)

Mineta: Oh look dad, mom's home.

Midnight: Hey, we're your friends. Please. This isn't you. Help us stop Shigaraki and earn your spot back in Class 1A.

(Mineta takes a moment and watches his former classmates fight various members of the paranormal liberation front along with other heroes. He then takes a deep breath before releasing a sigh)

Mineta: No...No I don't think I will. Cuz you know what? Now I'm on the ME-Team. And if you couldn't APPRECIATE ME at my worst, then you don't DESERVE ME at my best!

Mineta's growth spurt goes horrendously wrong

Mineta getting a growth spurt is usually to either make him cool and/or to make him realize that his perversion is wrong, but what would happen if his growth spurt makes everything worse? I tried to make a story and this is what i made.

Due to Mineta being depressed of being unable to be as powerful as his classmates and not being seen as 'cool' leads to him to try some other ways to be what he could truly become. Doing everything he could to be just as strong and cool as his classmates but none bear any fruits, so he's about to give up. That is until he sees an advertisement of an experimental growth treatment. He is not sure about that at first, but his curiosity seals the deal.

After multiple experiments he starts to grow into a regular teenager, his hair looks normal and his face becomes handsome just like how he wishes. Thanks to it, he gains the confidence boost that he desired, although some of his friends starts to be suspicious. It's not too long after Mineta found out the side-effects of the serums that he used in the experiments, he started having weird dreams, his perversion becomes worse and the worst of all, he's developing weird aggression and feral behavior.

Kaminari, Tsuyu and Shoji are the ones to notice Mineta's odd behaviors since they're Mineta's closest friends so they investigate it by themselves to make sure that Mineta can be normal again before Aizawa expels Mineta, but something else has happened to Mineta when they enter his room. His nails turns into claws, teeth are now razor-sharp, his purple eyes are now similar to those of felines and he could barely responds to human words anymore. Shoji immediately grabs and hold Mineta to prevent him attacking anyone and Tsuyu and Kaminari are searching for everything behind all of this and they found one last serum.

It turns out that the serum has obvious side effects, turning people into going feral and yet it seems that Mineta knew and kept this secret all along. As they about to take all of the serums Mineta immediately breaks free from Shoji arms and grabs his serums back from Tsuyu and Kaminari. He makes a wide commotion by running all fours from his room and out of the dorm by breaking out the window. Most of the 1A don't know what's going on with Mineta so the three have to tell them the truth and eventually Aizawa had to come in. Mineta is running fast towards undiscovered forest as what his dreams and mind are telling him and after he safely in the forest he uses his last serum. His eyes wide opened and he roars as the humanity in his heart has finally lost and is now free like wild animal.

Weeks after the incident, the 1A have finally closed the experiments and made sure that the serums are no longer available, though UA had to declare that Mineta is considered dead. In the same undiscovered forest, a feral boy, devoid of humanity, is running around to find water to quench its thirst. It finds a pond but there's also a feral girl drinking the water. It has the same characteristic as the feral boy (maybe it is also a victim to the experimental serum?) and so the feral boy tries its best to remember who it is but to no avail, so they approach each other to greet. The End.

I can make a fanfic out of this, but this needs some tweaking and grammar correction. The feral girl was supposed to be Mineta's old friend from middle school but i didn't have the time to fully write a scene of the two meeting in the experiment and buying the serums together, and also i don't know how to make more angst between Mineta and Kaminari, Tsuyu and Shoji. They tolerate Mineta the most in original MHA. This may or may not be an original prompt so please leave criticism in the comment, thank you.

Incorrect Quote #194

(Inside Mineta's room, he is sleeping soundly)

Mina: (Ghostly voice) Minoru! Minoru! Where are you?! Help me! Help me!

Mineta: Mina are you playing tricks? (shakes fearfully) Hiding in the closet trying to scare me?

Mina: (Ghostly voice) Minoru! The toilet! The toilet!

(Mineta races to the bathroom to find Mina's feet sticking out of the toilet; she is then flushed down the toilet)

Mineta: MINA!

(He watches in horror as Mina spins down the toilet as he rushes over)

Mineta: Noooooo!!!! Mina come back!!!

(He peers down the toilet)

Mineta: Mina I order you to come out of this toilet!

(The shower suddenly comes on; an apparition Mina can be seen through the running water)

Mina: Minoru! Help me! I'm trapped in the sewer beyond!

Mineta: No you're not! I just saw you go down the toilet!

Mina: Listen to me! There's lots of bad fishys and stuff here and they won't let me go! They won't rest until Fishy is on the other side! You've got to flush Fishy, Mineta!

(Mineta struggles to reach for Fishy's body)

Mineta: Can't...reach! It's no use -- my arms, they are too short!

Mina: (Angrily) Come on genius boy! Figure it out!

(Mineta eyes a toilet plunger and grabs it; he reaches it down the toilet and pulls Mina out; Mina's apparition is pulled into the shower and physically comes out of the toilet)

Mineta: Mina! Flush the fish, now!

(Mina grabs Fishy's body and flushes it down the toilet; the two siblings watch with swirling eyes)

Mina: *Phew* I'm sure glad that's over!

Announcement: GRAPESHOT Rewrite

Hey everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that GRAPESHOT is currently going through a big rewrite and overhaul.

After going back and rereading the earlier chapters, I’ve decided to take the time to fix a lot of things I wasn’t happy with. This includes improving pacing, cutting down on repetition, strengthening character moments, and overall making the story flow better. Some chapters will be rewritten, some scenes will be added, and others will be trimmed or removed entirely. The goal is to make the story tighter, more enjoyable, and higher quality from start to finish.

This is going to take some time, but I want to do it properly instead of rushing. I’m putting in the work to make this series the best version of itself that I can.

That said, if any of you have suggestions, feedback, or things you’d like to see improved as I go through this process, feel free to let me know. I’m always open to input and genuinely appreciate when readers share their thoughts. Whether it’s something small or a bigger idea, I’ll take it into consideration.

Thank you all for your patience and support. I’m really excited to rebuild this story properly and hope you’ll enjoy the improved version even more.

I’ll keep you updated as I make progress.

Imagine this ⬇️ is the main trio. How would you write them?

and w/ this I obviously mean things like dynamic, how Mineta would influence the others and viceversa; stuff like that.

Shizuka's Goal

I've been reading the fanfic "It Should Have Been Me." by u/Limp_Potential4955.

Here's the link to it below:

It Should Have Been Me - Inkscorpion - 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia [Archive of Our Own]

My question is about the main villain of the fanfic, Shizuka Gomu.

I understand based on the backstory shown about her so far she is angry and vengeful. She wants to get back at the man that abused her. But what is her end goal? What does she expect to happen after she gets her revenge? Does she know that her abuser is dead? Why does she talk about killing him when he is already dead? If she knows, what does she really want? It doesn't make sense to me.

The main reason that Mineta is hated.

We of this subreddit are all aware of the severity of the hatred towards Mineta.

We've seen that this hatred has even reached the point of Mineta being ranked among the likes of Shou Tucker, Griffith, and the Celestial Dragons.

I believe that one of, if not the, main reasons that Minoru Mineta is hated so severely, is that unlike most of the pervert characters that are of the same Archetype as him, he lacks a positive trait to balance out his perversion.

The YouTube video I've linked talks about the difference between Gregory House (House M.D.) and Velma (Velma), and how House is the Archetype of Lovable Jerk done correctly while Velma isn't.

In this video, Merb talks about what he refers to as the Asshole Equation, which boils down to 3 things to keep the audience invested:

Humor, Value, and Misery.

  1. Humor (The Bribe)

Humor acts as the initial transaction to buy an abrasive character's right to exist. It serves as a dopamine deposit to offset their toxic behavior [00:40].

  1. Value (The License)

Psychologically, audiences reject unearned arrogance. If a character acts like a god, they must perform miracles [06:05]. This value generally comes in two forms:

Social Value (Status): Characters who are functionally useless but socially indispensable. Examples include BoJack Horseman (whose celebrity offers a gateway to relevance), Pierce Hawthorne from Community (whose wealth makes him an un-liquidatable asset), and Mr. Satan from Dragon Ball Z (whose status as world champion is the only thing that can mobilize humanity to save Earth) [06:51].

Functional Value (Skill): Raw, unadulterated competence that makes a character entirely irreplaceable, such as Rick Sanchez, Jaime Lannister, or Eric Cartman [09:03].

  1. Misery (The Tax)

The human brain demands a "blood sacrifice" or cosmic balance to tolerate a jerk, which manifests as either external or internal misery [14:37].

External Misery: Commonly seen in comedies (e.g., King Julien or Zapp Brannigan), where the universe constantly slaps the character down through bad luck and slapstick karma for our amusement [15:12].

Internal Misery: Found in deeper protagonists (e.g., Rick Sanchez or BoJack Horseman) whose toxic behavior is a byproduct of an already rotting soul. Punishing them feels redundant because they do a better job of it themselves [15:44].

Humor Value Misery
House House's Success: House's jokes are sharp, cruel, and highly functional. In cases like a disputed "virgin pregnancy," he says to the girlfriend who tries to lie that she didn't cheat, "I believe him." His wit is weaponized to dismantle lies and reinforce his core philosophy that "everybody lies" [03:35]. Furthermore, House punches up at authority or at the literal stupidity endangering a patient. Because he operates in an "ecosystem of wit" where colleagues can and do fire back, his interactions feel like high-velocity banter rather than plain bullying [04:51]. Conversely, House is an irreplaceable diagnostic genius [12:31]. The writers make him earn his status by letting him make near-fatal mistakes first, showing the grueling, brilliant process required to find the truth and save a life [13:56]. House, however, is chemically dependent on his misery. His physical leg pain is a permanent monument to his own stubborn hubris. His emotional stuntedness causes him to chronically self-sabotage, ultimately driving his car straight through his ex-boss/ex-girlfriend's dining room wall when he cannot cope with vulnerability [17:06].
Velma Her humor relies on "counterfeit currency." In the pilot, she spends a minute breaking the fourth wall to lecture the audience on their media tastes [01:20]. The ultimate breakdown happens when she discovers a classmate's mutilated body and immediately cracks a superficial joke about the girl's weight and intelligence [02:15]. This violates the basic rule of comedy by punching down at a defenseless victim. Velma has zero social status and completely fails at functional value. She routinely jumps to wrong conclusions, and in one episode, completely sidelines an active serial killer investigation to obsess over high school popularity rankings [11:51]. Velma’s internal trauma (her mother's disappearance) is treated like a superficial post-it note excuse rather than a profound wound, making her look like a privileged kid using minor issues to treat people poorly [16:22].

Sorry for the seemingly unrelated tangent.

The point I'm trying to make is that Mineta, unlike Master Roshi and Jiraiya and such characters, lacks the positive qualities that make people like them.

He's not as powerful or competent as Jiraiya or Master Roshi. And while he is very much intelligent (since he ranked himself 9th in the class based on the midterms, I think it was), that intelligence isn't showcased too often.

Mineta could have easily been given these traits, but Horikoshi choose not to.

I’ll be actually honest…. Mineta hate is kinda forced

Sure he’s a perv but so is several other characters, if he was like 5’11 and buff no one would have a problem with it. Thats the worst part, he’s funny! I laugh everytime I rewatch Two Heroes with that “harem… harem… harem…” part.

Sometimes I wonder...

What would happen if Manami Aiba never heard of or became obsessed with Gentle, instead financially & motivationally backing an amateur selfie photos uploading wannabe hero, like Mineta, and (AFTER he becomes legal age OF COURSE) approaching and propositioning him personally with the offer of her love & support? How would he react with near limitless power suddenly offered to him for little to nothing asked in return that he wasn't already willing to offer. How would he react to now having an attractive similar (if not same) height curvy GF to boot he could kiss without a height boost or jumping? Would he still chase after and perv on other women? Would La Brava forbid, tolerate, accept, or join him in the act?

Mineta fics recommendations?

Hello, everyone! I was wondering if there are any good Mineta harem fics out there. I've found a few, but they either turn into "new chapter = sex + new girl" or they've basically stopped updating altogether.

If you know of any that are still being updated or are actually finished, I'd really appreciate the recommendations. Thanks!

I want to make a statement about myself.

Yesterday I posted a list. 10 characters I love and 10 characters I hate. Those who saw Naruto and Izuku on the list of characters I hate asked why. Let me answer. There are many reasons, but let me tell you the most important one: the toxic fanbase. You've known me here for a few months. I'm generally someone who hangs out on Wattpad or fanfiction, looking for stories. I'd say there are too many Naruto and Izuku stories, and more than half of them are clichés. Last year I had a fight with this toxic community. Just because I criticized Naruto and Izuku, everyone tried to lynch me. People insulted me, some called my opinions childish, others called me a 10-year-old kid playing video games with greasy hands. They even went so far as to send me death threats. This is something that happens. What did I do? I deleted my old Wattpad account and opened a new one. What else could I do? You tell me. They made me hate these two characters. I hate them. Okay, I'll defend them when necessary. Even if I hate them, I don't belittle or demean them in my stories. I develop their characters. That's just who I am. I don't hate my characters for the sake of hating them, like other writers do.

Mineta's Final Monologue In No Country For Young Heroes

For those who don't know I started this fic a while back and posted some excerpts here. This is the Mineta section. It does contain a pretty brutal description of a death and general angst so just be forewarned:

“Once you see a person die,” Mineta said, his hands outstretching, “I mean…it’s awful, it’s…it’s terrible. Can I tell you the first person I saw it happen to?”

He rubbed the back of his neck, “They…the…the cartel had this guy they’d gotten a hold of and he was on the ground. Me and Uraraka, we were creeping along a canyon. She was…she was looking ahead and she didn’t see it. They had a shotgun.”

Mineta swallowed, a visible increase in his heart rate clear to anyone who saw him. “The guy was on the ground and the shotgun was pointed right at his head, right at his head. It was like everything was happening in slow motion. I-I see the guy’s hand on the trigger and he’s pointing it at this other guy and…he pulled it. His face…the villagers…i-it opened up like-like a blooming flower. It…it only got worse from there.”

“What about your killing?” Hound Dog asked. Softly so, a clear understanding between the two that Mineta didn’t have to talk about it if he didn’t want to.

Mineta sat back on the cushions of the student chair, “I shot a man. In…In cold blood. He was on the ground, but…but he would’ve gotten up and we couldn’t leave him there because he would’ve talked to the guys searching for us. So, we made a vote. We decided to kill him. I took one of the guns and…and…but there are so many that came after him. It was…the worst one though.”

The boy held up a finger, “The worst part, as time goes on you don’t think…oh I killed someone, you think, “At least it wasn’t me.” I dunno, I feel like something is wrong in my head for that. Or-Or, maybe I’ve had that sort of thought buried deep inside my head.”

Hound Dog tapped his pen against the clipboard he held in his hands, the thing dwarfed compared to his massive frame. “I understand. It is a survival instinct, Mineta. All humans, no matter how good, own the instinct to live. Logic always isn’t involved in such matters.”

“Maybe…” Mineta’s knee was bouncing up and down, “do you think humans are…natural like that? I mean…self-preservation, groupthink, that kinda stuff?”

“What do you think?” Hound Dog asked.

“...I think…” Mineta let out a sigh, “I think there might be some truth to it. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with that but it can become…well you’ve heard what I said about it.”

“How do you think your classmates feel about the matter?”

Mineta looked at him, “I wouldn’t know…I…you can guess why. I can’t talk to anyone about real stuff, not usually. It’s really hard. I have to always be the funny guy.”

“Do…” Hound Dog gave him a perplexing look, “do you feel as if you must be funny?”

“Someone's gotta be. I mean…” Mineta let out a grunt as he tried to formulate the concept in a way his teacher could understand, “look at me. I’m…I just look funny and…so I have to be funny. I’m not like Kirishima, not like Denki-Kun, and I’m not like Sero. I’m…me.”

“Why do you feel this why?”

“I’m short, I acted like a complete creep for a long time, no wonder Uraraka…crap-nevermind.”

Now Hound Dog was on the emotional trail. He eyed Mineta, “Uraraka?”

“I…okay…okay. When we were going through the stuff we did in Mexico, I told her she needed to ask Midoriya out. Everyone knows they’re together I-I mean of course they are. That’s…that’s what’s right.”

“But how do you feel about it?”

“…At the hospital…when…we were talking and I told her to go get him. I was watching her and for a small time, I just…I wanted it to be me who she was going to see. Not because of her body, but because she’s kind, she’s…she’s everything I want in a girl. But do you honestly see her getting with a guy like me? No, of course not. I don’t have anyone to blame but myself for that.”

Hound Dog wrote something on the clipboard, and he didn’t speak for a time. “After everything you’ve been through, do you feel the same as you did all those months ago when you first came here?”

“I think so…I wanna keep pushing forward but…but it’s hard. Really hard. But I’ll…” his hands tightened into fists as he looked down at them, “I’ll keep fighting, keep trying to be better. For my friends, for my family, for…everyone relying on me.”

Hound Dog slowly smiled at the boy, “A noble goal indeed, Mineta. Very much so.”
