Face it, she mogs any woman you know

Mogville personified. Lana ethereal beuaty was like none we've ever seen and probably will ever see again. A perfect doll face from every angle she mezmorises you with her otherworldly good looks.

People (mostly close shippers) will try to downplay this proposal claiming some BS about Clark just wanting to be more "flashy" in his younger years. That some how it didn't have as much meaning as it appeared because he didn't think it through.

I can tell you that's absolutely false because Clark wanted to be with Lana since he was 5 years old. He has the better part of 15 years to think about it and infact the show addressed then when he was discussing it with Chloe where Clark explained he wasn't rushing it when he thought Chloe would object because of their age, and Chloe agreed with him and gave him her blessings because she too knew what he wanted and had always wanted. To be with Lana forever!

This was later reaffirmed and solidified again in both Crimson and Promise.

The longing is real

This is from the season 2 episode “Rush”. Lana is both hurt and angry with Clark when she walks in on seeing Clark and Chloe kissing at the Talon due to Clark being under the red kryptonite influence. Clark later brings Lana a rose and a pizza in an attempt to make up to her.

Lana looks so cute here despite being angry at Clark. She smells the rose before tossing it in the wastebasket. It’s so sad they didn’t go on the date they planned, it definitely would have deepened their relationship.
