Packages: inaccurate class estimate and false advertising

I just did my first month with classpass. I love the concept of choosing what I want and having options. My problem with class pass is that it's extremely expensive and the subscription tiers are sooo incredibly inaccurate with the class estimates for the credits. It actually is offensive how off it is definitely some shady false advertising.

For example, the 58 credit pack quotes 12 - 22 classes. Most classes are 8 - 12 credits in my market. I haven't seen one under 6 credits at all. That's about 9 class at the very most. WTF? How is that even allowed? I workout multiple times a week so this is really not feasible. How are you dealing with this? I feel like there's no way people can go often.

can the studios tell that it is your first time from the classpass?

i used to be on free trial on one acc and went to a particular studio. if i use another acc (same name registered but diff email etc) that isnt on free trial, can the studio tell that it is a different acc or will they just see my first name?

sorry if this is confusing but I dont want the studio to think that i am creating multiple accs to make use of the free trials if they can tell that i am using a brand new acc when I come again

Free trial only allows one class per studio???

I have 48 credits in my 2 week trial which is extremely generous. But the studios near me only allow 1 class—I have to be a member to take multiple classes. Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of a trial period?? I can only use 2 credits because only a few studios are part of classpass now. Anyone else experience this?

Can business see the rating you give your class even if you didn’t post a written review ?

So I just joined classpass for the month of August and bought the 83 credit package. Even though I did my research and calculated how much my classes will be, it’s looking like I’ll need to bump up my credits because of how class pass chooses to raise them by two points after knowing you like a specific class.

I’ve read about this somewhere so I decided to test out the theory. First few classes I gave 3’s and the minute I give a class 5 stars it gets bumped up by 2 credits 💔

People with similar experiences mentioned this happening a year or several months in but I guess mine is different?

Anyways this post was meant to shed light on this specific experience but to also ask if business see your rating ? I see written reviews and the general score a business gets but I’m wonder if the instructor can personally see them too, kinda feeling bad about my experiment cause the classes were really good. I think I should just suck it up and give them my honest review

F45 Credits?

Hello,

I’m considering switching over to classpass for my F45 gym in Potomac, MD. Does anyone know how many credits these classes are? I’m trying to figure out if I want to switch from membership to classpass.

Best Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

Hi! I’ve been going to spin class weekly for a while now and renting shoes from the studio just isn’t cutting it anymore. They only have hard shoes and they are uncomfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and I tore my Achilles years ago which I still get pain from. The hard shoes have been making both of those flare up. Does anyone with either of those conditions have a brand they recommend? I’ve been looking at TIEM, but I’ve heard mixed reviews from people with Plantar Fasciitis. I’m hoping to stay under $200.

Where are all the spin classes?!

A request for suggestions (and also a rant…): where did all the boutique spin classes go?

I know so many businesses died off with the rise of Peloton and during the pandemic, but there were so many good true small biz boutique gyms and now they’re so hard to find.

We basically have cyclebar or soul cycle on ClassPass in NYC, and that’s it. Ready for cycling classes to come back!

ClassPass has a terrible Customer service- they ignored my serious safety incident and tried to bury it

I was injured during a Pilates class booked through ClassPass after the studio gave me incorrect instructions on the reformer machine. I fell, hit my neck and legs, and was trapped underneath the heavy equipment for close to 15 minutes. I was covered in bruises afterward. The studio had no incident report process at all, and instead of documenting what happened, they offered me free classes! which felt like an attempt to buy my silence, and told me to "report it to ClassPass" instead of handling it themselves.

I did report it to ClassPass, with photos of my injuries and my written exchange with the studio as proof. Their response was dismissive, almost like they didn't take it seriously. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless loop: every time I try to follow up, I get routed to an AI chatbot that just repeats "an agent will join shortly" without ever connecting me to anyone. The one time I did reach a human agent, she promised an escalation team manager would contact me "in a few minutes." That was three days ago. Nothing since.

This is a platform that connects users to physical, often risky activities (reformer Pilates, heavy machinery, high-intensity classes) but has zero real safety or incident-response infrastructure, and a customer service system designed to stall and exhaust people rather than resolve real harm. If you get injured at a class booked through ClassPass, don't expect them to help you, expect to be ghosted.

Can I use my trial credits on locked activities if I buy a membership?

Update: I found out from here and asked support again, and yes, the credits disappear if you purchase a membership. That’s insanely stupid, and I’m really disappointed. Thank you so much, everyone, for your answers!

I have 65 credits and my trial plan ends on August 22, but I can’t work out right now, and I’d hate for them to just go to waste. I’d really love to get a massage instead. So I was wondering if I could buy a membership now, unlock the locked activities, and use my trial credits for a massage before my trial ends and the credits expire.
I contacted support about this. The bot first told me no,that I could do this and the locked activities would unlock immediately, but I wouldn’t be able to use my trial credits for them. Then I asked again, and it said that I actually could. Does anyone know the correct answer?

Barry's nyc credit check

I basically just use classpass for Barry's and am trying to figure out if my credits jumped bc I'm going too much or if it was for everyone - for anyone who goes to Barry's in nyc can you tell me if you still have options for 15 credits? Mine have jumped to 17 minimum at all times. And if this has happened to you how long does it generally take to go back down if you take a break from going? Thanks so much, I am trying to navigate my points etc.

New member

So their ad on fb got me and I signed up for the free trial. I didn’t know only fitness is available on the trial. I’m more interested in beauty and self care. So I would have to upgrade. Ok fine. But before I do that I wanted to see an estimate or an approximate of credits needed for each service. Apparently that’s not possible. I chatted with their AI tool and they too said they can’t give me that info because the amount of credits needed can change based on availability, location, ect. Which ok I’m fine with that but I’d still like to know a range for the amount of credits needed. I’m not doing a full blown sign up only to find out you need a ridiculous amount of credits for a service. Then they are gonna say upgrade for even more credits. I’d like to know how many credits I need for a service.

Sculpt’d Philly

I’ve loved going to this studio via ClassPass. Their schedule is not available on the app after Sunday. Does that mean they are no longer participating in ClassPass?

Every class shows as 20 credits

I am so confused. I enrolled in a free trial and did not use any credits. So I enrolled in the 20 credits for $45 a month after my free trial expired, When trying to book any yoga or pilates class, it is showing that it costs 20 credits which is insane because during the free trial it was 4 credits. My friend who has classpass tells me the same class is showing as 4 credits on her end. We have both never been to the class. Customer service chat is useless and tells me that it depends on the location etc. I think it’s an IT issue on their end but am not able to speak to anyone. Has anyone experienced this before? I really want to rejoin but not spend 20 credits on one class

Anybody want to take a 6 credit class today and book me something later this week for 4-5 credits?

Hiii. I’m dealing with a family emergency and in a rural place where I can’t use my credits. I have 6 left over my rollover amount and I’d love them to not go to waste! Let me buy you into class today and you can use my name to check in.

My account will renew tomorrow, and if you’d be able to pay me back by booking something in my home city at 4-5 credits later in the week I can give you the class studio and time to book! And then it’s just scouts honor.

If I can’t find anyone down to trade I’ll just give them away.

I don’t want to pause for a month and they’re being inflexible. I’m normally located in Florida so that would be the best but truly down for whatever idk.

Error when booking a class?

Hi! I am a class pass partner. Whenever I add new classes to my schedule it won’t let the class pass users reserve the class

For example I have a themed workout class tomorrow. Sunday night I added the class to my schedule (I don’t use MINDBODY) and I can see it on the CP schedule but some users go to book it and it gives them an error message.

Has anyone else had this issue ?
