Anyone else finding Skullpanda pieces outside of official drops?

I’ve been collecting Skullpanda for a bit now, mostly sticking to official drops, but lately I’ve also been exploring secondhand options. I’ve seen some interesting listings through trades, resellers, and even a few live auctions on whatnot.

What surprised me is how often older series, opened boxes, or dupes pop up when people are downsizing collections. It feels more relaxed than fighting drop times, and sometimes you get to hear why someone is letting a piece go.

Not trying to buy or sell here, just curious. Are most of you sticking strictly to drops, or are you also picking up Skullpanda through secondhand or live platforms?

What would make a collector site feel worth your time?

Hi r/Collections,

A little while ago I shared Kollectia here for the first time.

Back then, it was still in pre-beta, built from my own love of collecting old video games. The idea was simple: create one place where collectors of retro games, books, movies, and other items could organize, discover, share, trade, and talk about their collections.

A lot has happened since that first post.

Kollectia now has its first official partner: IGDB. That is a huge step for us, especially for video game collectors, because it helps make the game collection experience much richer and more accurate.

We have also added a lot of new features, including:

- Leaderboards and seasons

- Levels and achievements

- Daily and weekly quests

- “Kreds”, Kollectia’s own token-style reward system

- A Kreds shop where users can spend earned Kreds on cosmetics

- Multi-currency support, so users can view and manage prices in their own currency

- More collection tools, marketplace improvements, and community features

The idea behind Kreds is that users earn them by being active on the platform, completing quests, building their collections, and participating in the community. They can then use Kreds to buy cosmetic items and personalize their profile.

The platform is still early, but it has grown a lot since the first launch. I’m trying to build Kollectia into something that feels useful, fun, and community-driven for collectors, not just another database.

I would love to hear what collectors here think.

What features would you want in a platform like this?

And if you collect video games, books, movies, figures, cards, or something else, what would make collection tracking genuinely useful for you?

Thanks again to everyone who gave feedback on the first post. It really helped.

Figurines and collectibles feel more social now than ever before, agree?

I’ve been collecting anime figurines and other stuff ever since I was little. Now my dad is one crazy collector too but he tells me that we’re not alike. His is more of like a pretty solitary hobby and mine feels way more social.. Their generation collected stuff to form a personal collection and they rarely showed it off for the world to see. In fact, the only time I ever saw my dad's huge die-cast collection was when I stayed at my Nana's, it just lived quietly in that room.

Now I do the complete opposite and put my collections out there. I truly enjoy the community aspect of collecting now. I have so much fun sharing shelf setups, talking about favorite characters, seeing other people’s collections, and connecting with people who are into the same stuff.   I think the online community aspect is the main draw for me being a social animal unlike my introvert dad. And honestly, getting rewarded for creating content around a hobby I already spend so much time on anyway is a pretty sweet perk. It makes all the effort I already put into collecting, organizing, and sharing my hobby feel even more worthwhile.

Curious about other collectors here… Are you more solitary like my dad or are you a creative like me? And if you do post about your stuff, what is your motivation to do so?

My collection for the past 5 months

Finally got all my daily drivers together for a family photo. Thought I'd drop some quick thoughts for anyone building a versatile batch on a budget. No gatekeeping, just vibes:

The Lineup

Bvlgari Man In Black – This is my “dress up or date night” bottle. Boozy rum, leather, warm spices. Projects like crazy for the first hour then sits close. 8/10, but only in fall/winter. Spraying this in July should be illegal.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau Le Parfum – Coconut, tonka, and amber. Sweet but not cloying, and it lasts all day on me. Gets the most compliments by far. 9/10. JPG tax is real but worth it IMO.

Ralph club - Safe, inoffensive, versatile. Pear, suede, ambroxan. My job interview + office scent. Performance is mid at 4-5h. 7/10 for value.

Azzaro Wanted By Night – Cinnamon, tobacco, red cedar. Loud, sexy, goes into beast mode. Too heavy for daytime. Spray once or you’ll choke the room. 8/10 for nights out.

CK One – classic. You all know it. Citrus, green tea, clean musk. Not long lasting but it’s the ultimate “fresh out the shower” smell. Nostalgia in a bottle. 7/10 for what it is. Layer this with anything.

Prada Luna Rossa Carbon – If you want office safe but not boring, this is it. Metallic lavender + ambroxan. Clean, soapy, modern. 8.5/10. Best compliment getter for daily wear.

Nautica voyage heritage – Old school, soapy + a little floral. Like barbershop meets dad’s cologne. $15 and it smells way more expensive. 7/10 summer beater.

Nautica Voyage – Blue juice. The GOAT budget freshie. Apple, lotus, aquatic notes. Everyone’s first “compliment scent.” Lasts 3h tops but for the price I don’t care. 9/10 for value. Chug it.

Classic Space

At 44, I finally fulfilled a childhood dream: collecting, piece by piece and month after month, the entire Classic Space catalog I used to admire as a kid.

And today, I’m chasing a second dream: turning this creation into an official LEGO set.

Linen-Backing and Poster Restoration

Hey everyone,

After about ten years of apprenticing and doing professional poster restoration, I finally opened my own independent studio called Undead Cinematic Linen-Backing and Poster Restoration. If you have a rare print, an original movie poster, or an old family heirloom that is falling apart, I am here to help fix it.

What is linen-backing?

Linen-backing is essentially a conservation method where I mount fragile, aging paper onto archival linen and acid-free paper. It flattens out heavy fold lines, reinforces the structure, and makes the poster safe for framing. I also handle general restoration, which includes fixing rips, tears, water stains, and removing old tape using completely reversible archival techniques.

Experience

Over the last decade, I have worked on everything from rare foreign Star Wars prints and autographed horror originals to classic Frankenstein, King Kong, and Warhol pieces. If it is printed on paper, there is a very good chance it can be saved.

Get in touch

If you have a piece that needs work or you are just curious if a specific type of damage can be repaired, feel free to drop a comment or reach out. I love looking at obscure prints and talking shop.

My enamel pins and badges collection

Started collecting these about two years ago, it's pretty hard to find good ones in physical stores near me so I mostly order them when I have the money.

I'm also thinking about sharing my South Park collection. :)

This brand new mix of balls has some of the coolest color combos and designs. (They smell amazing as well lol). A great addition and eye piece to my already massive collection.

My Small Antique Halloween Postcard Collection

Sharing my new little collection of Halloween postcards, all but one are pre-1920 early 1900's. The most unique out of the bunch is on the right and its a RSVP to a Halloween sweet sixteen party on a Halloween designed invitation, most likely from a set, 1920's-30's.

CC Debt sent to Hunt and Henriques

My husband has 9 month old debt charged off from Chase Bank to Hunt and Henriques. We found out it was only sent to them last week from Chase. The debt has not officially entered H&H's system as when we called to confirm, the rep could only see it was in transition to them. They could not give us a hard date of when it would officially arrive in their system, giving a vague timeline of days to weeks.

My question is, we would most likely want to settle to get rid of it and start fresh without ongoing payments. The debt is not that old, is $10,200, and we are willing to settle immediately for around 40-50% of the total.

Once we receive the official letter from them saykng they are the debt collectors, should I let H&H give me their settlement offers first or immediately give them our offer? I'm trying to avoid any and all court or litigation. My husband was unemployed for almost two years and could not make payments, but he's recently got a job and can start paying into it again.

Advice needed: Shelving for collectibles – Ikea vs. Custom-made + "glass front" dile

Hi everyone,

we are planning to upgrade our "collection corner." As you can see in the photo, our current shelves are completely full, and honestly, they are holding on by a thread! :/

We used AI to generate some design ideas for how it should look (second picture). However, we have a dilemma: we want to avoid heavy glass doors. We were thinking about some kind of lightweight alternative – perhaps a clear film or a thin acrylic sheet that could be attached using magnets. Does anyone have experience with this? We’re looking for something to keep the dust off without adding too much weight to the wall.

We are also debating the construction:
1 IKEA solution (including LED lighting): approx. €650
2 **Custom-made by a carpenter: (inc LED)**approx. €1000

Do you think it’s worth paying the extra €350 for a carpenter, or is the IKEA quality sufficient for this purpose? I’d be grateful for any advice or personal experience!
Thanks!
