Caldor at Tri-City Plaza in Vernon in spring 1999

This location at Tri-City Plaza opened in October 1976 which replaced W.T. Grant department store. This store closed when Caldor went out of business in 1999. This location was eventually occupied first by Ames (also went out of business three years later), Price Chopper supermarket and then (currently) ShopRite supermarket.

This Erin Stewart disaster and CT republicans

I can't believe this fool racked up over 200k in purchases on a city credit card and then ran for governor. Meanwhile this state continues to degrade into some kind of taxation and surveilance theme park.

How is it possible that this is the best the republicans can come up with? This beautiful state just gets worse and worse and the approach was to find a fraudster and then have her run as a Trump style MAGA republican? in CT!?!?! It would be funny if another flock camera hadn't gone up in the time it took me to type this out.

What a joke.

TLDR- they want to make it so you’re forced to hand over your ID, face scan and or financial documents to talk to ANY AI bot. Doesn’t matter if it’s Claude, ChatGPT, your internet company’s AI bot that helps with your bill, DoorDash support, hand over your ID.

Everyone needs to contact their lawmakers and tell them to vote NO on this draconian shit.

Costco Liquor Store

According to CT law, Costco ( and BJ's etc) has to sell liquor to the general public, not members only. They always scan my Costco membership card, but maybe that's just to track who is buying what. Their prices on Kirkland branded products are insane, like 50% less than similar name brands, sometime even more than that. I don't remember ever seeing a non-member buying liquor. Is everyone unaware they can shop there? I'm surprised it's not more popular.
