Why do you think Wybie doesn't exist in the book but does in the movie?

Coraline wasn't scary as a child... until you see her again as an adult 🪡👁️”

I rewatched Coraline and realized that it was never just a "kids' movie".

Scared shitless. I've been having nightmares about the Other Mother for 13 years.

I've watched extreme horror, read it, splatterpunk, played 30+ horror games, creepypastas- nothing has come close to the absolute spine chilling impact the character design of the Other Mother has had on me. The story too, this scary fucking creature being deceptive by posing as a Mother and hiding behind a door in your own house.

It's so fucking scary. And brilliantly done. I'm a 20yr old guy who still has nightmares about the Beldam

Only thing that comes remotely close is God and Scarlet from Silent Hill (pictured). Could be the combination of exposed anatomy and a skeletal frame, contrasted with femininity which is meant to be "soft"

So I'm asking..

What other creatures/beings/stories/art pieces tap into the same horror?

I'm a thrill seeker, and I've been disappointed that nothing has scared me as much as a fucking kids film I watched when I was 8

Help me choose a nail design, I can't decide which one to use. Which Coraline design do you like?

Forcible and Spink know more than they let on.

In one of my crazy theories, I think that they not only gave Coraline the stone with which she can see into the souls of the other children, but that the candy jars have what could be the date on which each of them was lost.

Monster high Coraline Stop motion

I want to share a stop motion animation I made, taking advantage of the fact that they released the Coraline Monster High, inspired by the movie.
