I saw this on a how to Youtube video

I saw this cheap way out of buying something to place between my monitor speakers and my freshly made speaker stands. I saw this on Youtube How-to videos. I bought 2 cupcake baking tins, and placed them on top of my Mon. stands. I then went to my doggie treats storage closet and robbed 10 tennis balls, and placed them in the cupcake tins. I then placed each monitor on top of the tennis balls, and I proceeded with very non-technical test of turning the the volume of my 6" KALI monitors, and to my surprise there was only a little if any vibration from the monitors transferring to my monitor stands. I will be exchanging Rinnie's (my German Shepherd) tennis balls for Racket Balls in the near future. Meanwhile I be painting my monitor stands and the cupcake tins, and placing the 4 rubber anti- vibration screw on pad/feet on the bottom of the Stands, and I'm going to place the same pad/feet on the four corners of the two cupcake tins and then I paint the stands, and the tins well, I guess black. Any thoughts please share them.

Rebuilding 80s Technics 160W RMS 3 way speakers with 15" Bass speakers. Trying car speakers for mid range just because they were at hand.

TLDNR: An incredible improvement. Still need to cut bigger holes and mount properly. What can go wrong?

My amp is a beefy 100 Watt Onkyo A-RV401.

The Speakers are Technics SB-K400. 160W, 8 Ohm, Crossover: 2000 Hz, 6000 Hz.

Replacing the Bass Speaker.

I just replaced the original 8 Ohm 15 inch bass speaker with an 8 Ohm GRS replacement. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00454W3BG

The GRS is twice the weight and twice the inductance as the original. No other listed speakers came close to those numbers if they are even relevant. The magnets and voice coil is massive compared to the original.

It still seemed like a random choice. The new bass speaker sounds great and seems to carry more of the mid range than the original. The overall mid range of this speaker in the original configuration is still very weak.

 Replacing the Mid Range.

The original mid range speaker is marked 0.8 Watt, 4 Ohms. Not even a whole Watt.

I was hoping to find a simple drop in replacement upgrade. I had no idea where to start. I have 4 Sony XS-R1645 car speakers. 50W RMS, Peak 270W, 4 Ohm. I decided to try them out. I am leaving the original 20W 8 Ohm tweeter in place.

Just hanging it in place with a wood screw to try it out, it sounds amazing. Tomorrow I enlarge the midrange hole and mount everything up proper?

Is there anything that can go wrong with using the car speaker for a mid range?

Will the crossover unit hold up?

The beginning of "project beast" made from 1.25" solid oak. It will stand at 22×24×44.5" giving me aprox 11.8 cubic feet of airspace inside. I still need to cut the front and back from the oak table on the left. After that...Im not sure what to do. More in the comments.

Hi-Fi deck got some actual bass now

got these Visaton BF37 11,42€ on Amazon with these 3D printed enclosures 8,90€ on Modelltechnik Schönemann used for soundmoduls in RC cars + some Acoustic damping material to get the most out of these tiny enclosures. the speakers are driven from the internal amp that normally drives the stock steam deck speakers with the software DSP disabled so the speakers get the full frequency range

Been gone for a while' had to perfect my crack formula

2x6" drivers

DSP 2.1 amp running everything, i.e., bookshelf speakers. also custom-built. and the ridiculous sub/kick bin

Used the "skema"funktion one f218bph plans for inspo' this is my second time building this exact box with these drivers so I had a decent starting point.

Once I add it to the stack it'll be crossed over like a kick bin above my main huge 2x15" sub horn. Anyway, it's blown me away with the efficency as is idk what I did. But I obviously did something right lol.

Thx for reading .

"Crack-tops"

I wanted to fit a full sound system into a tiny space so I introduce to you Cracktops-

2way design

3.5" .Hf. 4th order sealed rear 'straight horn front.

(800-18khz 6db )

6.5". Lf. 6th order flared port front 'ported rear.

(30-800Hz LPF 6db )

I'm pretty happy with the balance ' although I'm 100percent going to make a v2 of this box with a 3-way design' since it's lacking on the tweets a lot

And there are a few parts I wish I had done differently regarding the hf horn other than that it's a pretty cool box that could power a decent house party

(Aint got the exact measurement of that clip but i reackon 95db+)

Thx for reading
