U ever seen someone test there sub in a toilet.....

Max gain on max gain lol. My toilet is arnd 2500l .b4 displacement: so pretty similar to cabin gain in a car. +corner loading+a fairly efficient bass reflex with 2x 8" pioneer mids ( listen with your most bass boosted headphones for that satisfying festival rumble 🤣. Yellow bleech not shit stains...

Got bored wanted to see what I could build in a day.....

4x 6" mid drivers in theee most cracked out design in the world...possibly... basically a 46hz tuned port and rear chamber firing into a deceivinly large horn / flare and ohhh boy it slaps... especially for random mids that aren't rlly supposed to go that low lol I'll upload a test of this bad boy in action. Literally built from a large set of cabinets and a tiny bit I had to chip in with 18mm mdf I had scrap;.

And yep Literally throw it together in a few hours;

Any questions feel free to ask thx for reading.

My Mini mtm bookshelf speakers

Soooo......decided I wanted to build a set of nice bookshelf speakers'

didn't have that much money so I turnt to my classics...I repurposed drivers from a set of Sony satellite speakers' (Sony SS-TS500)

The front LR pair also came with a super-tweeter (which I thought was a nice touch).

Anyway been doing a lot of testing with these drivers and my new Dayton Audio Imm6 to find the best sounding version of "my mtms"... anyway I've tested sealed'passive radiator' and my clear favourite ported.

3 litres after displacement.

1.45" round port 21mm port length for a rough calculated tuning around 120hz.

2x3" mids 1x0.5" super tweeter per cabinet.

5.5 kHz 12 dB crossover- 200 Hz 6 dB hpf ( so technically 18db crossover if u wanna get nerdy but the hpf goes across both the tweeter and mid;

Max SPL 103 dB with the stereo pair

(including

room gain) on my 100w max rated amp.

I can't figure out how to measure distortion on my Dayton Imm6 so if anyone knows if it would be helpful pls and thankyouuss

And my nans offered to build me a set of fabric grills because according to her mine are "terrible" lol so yh that's why ones missing I gave it to her to copy the size;

Any questions feel free to ask thanks for reading'

The crackcross

Absolutely scuffed design ' think by Abt halfway through I forgot what I was even building from the hot glue fumes....... I think it was a crossover.....

1x stereo pair input

3x stereo pair subwoofer output

1x stereo pair kick output

2x stereo pair mid/ fullrange output output .

Sub crossed 200Hz 12 db ' or by flipping the top-most switch roughly 350Hz 6 dB

Kick crossed (250hz -800hz 12db 'or by flipping the switch roughly 250hz -1.1khz 6db.

The mid outputs are fullrange passthroughs to be optionally crossed over in there own cabinets for best case around 800Hz/1.1khz.

SubCracktivaties....

I built some more subs... same design as my previous f218 bph design' just in singles-

For more placement options. And of course extra efficiency 🥲. Still might make 2 more single driver cabs so there's 8x drivers across 7 boxes. For the best coupling. since u can only rlly use 2 or 4 drivers at a time 6 gets weird due to wiring. 8 would be the sweetspot between Impedance and coupling. The dual box is likely going to be my centre sub with the singles flanking the sides.

( i dont wanna hear shyt abt the bracing being uneven sybau.)

Cracktop soundest

theres a sub hooked up aswell crossed 200Hz 12db to the left see coments for a photo of that. Pretty happy with how it sounds i think my amps are overheating a little in this uk heatwave so don't mind the clipping lol. (And that dome tweeter up top is not connected btw)

Cracktops v2

Been busy designing and building some new sound system mid Tops. ( I've already tried building a v1 and just wasn't too pleased with how it sounded tbh )

2-way.

6" midrange and 1" peizo.

Really compact cabinet at 12"×12"×10".

4.5khz 12db crossover (200-20khz).

Really happy with both how it sounds and how it looks' minus a few imperfections that I really couldn't get around to easily with hand tools.

Thx for reading as always.

(Ps do u think I'm ready for the big leauges r/diyaudio??😭😭)

(Double ps soundest on my ac)

"Crack-tops"

I wanted to fit a full sound system into a tiny space so I introduce to you Cracktops-

2way design

3.5" .Hf. 4th order sealed rear 'straight horn front.

(800-18khz 6db )

6.5". Lf. 6th order flared port front 'ported rear.

(30-800Hz LPF 6db )

I'm pretty happy with the balance ' although I'm 100percent going to make a v2 of this box with a 3-way design' since it's lacking on the tweets a lot

And there are a few parts I wish I had done differently regarding the hf horn other than that it's a pretty cool box that could power a decent house party

(Aint got the exact measurement of that clip but i reackon 95db+)

Thx for reading

Been gone for a while' had to perfect my crack formula

2x6" drivers

DSP 2.1 amp running everything, i.e., bookshelf speakers. also custom-built. and the ridiculous sub/kick bin

Used the "skema"funktion one f218bph plans for inspo' this is my second time building this exact box with these drivers so I had a decent starting point.

Once I add it to the stack it'll be crossed over like a kick bin above my main huge 2x15" sub horn. Anyway, it's blown me away with the efficency as is idk what I did. But I obviously did something right lol.
