Craft + Claude = Custom quick capture app

In just under an hour, using a $20/mo Claude Pro account, with only one screenshot as a reference point, I was able to build a native, quick capture app that integrates directly with my Craft account. It's stable and working flawlessly on my Mac Mini so far. I'm blown away.

It’s a simple app, just 1.4 MB in size and it fills a nice, niche use case for me. I type feverish notes while on calls that I can't record for privacy reasons. I don't want the full Craft app open constantly on my Mac. Hence, this micro-app.

It launches at login. I type a hotkey, the window pops up, I type my note and/or drop in an image, I select the Craft document to append it to (or search from all of my Craft documents), and click save. It's instantly there. And it sits in my menu bar if I want to activate it from there instead.

It was so easy to create I'm sort of stunned by the positive experience. I have no coding expertise other than editing HTML or CSS (but I can't even code anything from scratch with those languages either).

This will make it that much easier and faster to drop short content into Craft. I’m very excited. Next step: a voice-to-Craft enhancement. I’m not going to try to sell this app, but if you’re curious, ask me any questions and I’ll explain further.

Made a free iOS app to open and read raw Markdown (.md) files on iPhone/iPad — handy for peeking at Logseq pages outside the app

Logseq stores everything as plain .md files, but if you ever open one of those files directly on iOS (from Files, iCloud, Dropbox, a backup, etc.) you just get raw text. I built a small viewer to read them rendered on a phone.

Md Preview:

• Renders GitHub-Flavored Markdown — headings, tables, task lists, footnotes

• Code blocks with syntax highlighting, plus LaTeX math and Mermaid diagrams

• Opens .md / .markdown / .mdx / .rmd / .qmd from Files or the Share Sheet

• 100% on-device — no account, no uploads, no ads, no subscriptions

Free on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6760341080

Details: https://markdown.cybergame.ai/

Not a Logseq replacement at all — just a quick way to read loose .md files when you're away from the desktop app. Curious how you all read your graph on the go.

Upload Images via Claude

I just signed up yesterday and am using Plus. Beautiful product!

One thing I ran into that I'd like to be able to do is to upload an image to a doc via Claude or another AI. Here's what I got when I tried:

I created the doc in Craft, but I ran into a limitation: the Craft tool I have only lets me add text/markdown blocks — there's no way for me to upload an actual image file into it directly.

Keyboard Shortcuts to use different highlight colours

Could we perhaps add the feature to quickly highlight text in different colours just using keyboard shortcuts instead of selecting it manually from the drop-down menu?

I would love to quickly be able to highlight text using customisable keyboard shortcuts such as using cmd+opt+1 for red and cmd+opt+2 for blue.

Convert an existing document into a card inside another document

Hey everyone,

I am trying to find a way to simply convert an existing document into a card inside another document, because I realized I just don't need this document as a unique document but rather as a card inside a document. Ofc I already asked Ai and googled around, but so far I can't find a way to do it. And just copy pasting is not an option because the document that should be a card already contains cards it self. And hyperlinking it into the new document, would do the same, but its still not a card and I want it to look like a card and be big you know. And don't want to see it as an own document, just want to see it as card in an document. I think you all know what I mean. Anyone knows how to do that?

Lag and sluggish performance on macOS Tahoe

At first, I thought it might be due to my attachments and files. To check this, I downloaded the markdown offline, cleaned it up, did a big spring clean. I even reinstalled the app, but nothing seems to be working.

The performance issues seem to be related to rendering? Correct me if I’m wrong. This is what I notice often:
Resizing is slow
Increasing text size is sluggish
Opening documents is sluggish
Animations are sluggish
Content sometimes takes a while to load

Interestingly, the app runs perfectly fine on iOS and iPadOS.

Let's gather more data so the team at Craft can take a better look at this and figure it out.

Spotlight Integration?

I've been using Craft off and on. It gets so many things right and so many others just don't fit with the way I work. I bounce off and come back. However, one thing that's a deal breaker for me is a lack of spotlight integration. It seems Craft is not integrated with spotlight?

Using Craft with agents

I'm trying to use Craft with my Hermes Agent. It seems that I can't read, rename, delete, or move documents. Once the agent creates a doc, it can't update it — only append more blocks.

Is this normal, or have I misconfigured something?

EDIT: I found this. And I told Hermes to learn it. Seems to solve a lot of my problems!

Which platform do you prefer?

I’m curious what the seasoned users of Craft are using for their platform of choice? MacBook, Windows, Web browser, iOS devices? I started using Craft a few months ago but now I’m really getting into it. I’d like to get the most I can out of this.

I realize there are many creatives that are using Craft and you’re probably using the Apple platform for everything. However, some of us are tied into Windows for business or corporate jobs. I have both. I’d like to stick to using one for music, writing, journaling, and technology biz in a productivity environment. I use both an iPhone and iPad Air so these help when not in front of a computer. I want to make sure my next upgrade will be based on sound results for using the productivity tool I’m finding Craft to be.

What are the pros and cons to each platform?

Universal Task Quick-Add?

Original Craft user who's been gone awhile. Is there a universal task quick-add function for when you're working in other apps? Didn't see one as I browsed the site and Help.

We looked into why so many people with ADHD love Craft. What's your recipe to stay focused?

Just dropped a new video on something we kept noticing: a lot of people with ADHD seem to genuinely love Craft, so we dug through hundreds of user reviews to figure out why, and some clear patterns came up around how it fits the way scattered, easily-distracted brains work.

But beyond the video, we're curious about you:

  • What actually helps you stay focused or organized day to day?
  • And what's the advice everyone gives that just never worked for you?

Insert multiple files?

I’m working on a project where I compile a lot of images in a Craft note. All the image files are located on iCloud for easy access. The problem is I can only insert one file at a time. I’ve had the same problem with PDF files, when collecting a handful of files in a note. I use iOS. Is there a workaround for this? If not, it would be a nice addition to speed up work with multi-file documents.
