Sneak peek - Craft + Siri on OS 27

As many of you asked about it - we are already working on a deeper Siri integration for OS 27. You will be able to interact with your docs and tasks through Siri.

Betas can change every week, but we are excited how Siri feels already much more powerful than ever. From direction-wise it's also very important for us that Craft will utilise as much native capabilities as possible (we are also working on better Shortcut support too!)

Can we make Craft Tasks better?

This feature request might be quite different from Craft's current roadmap, but I'd love to get community feedback on my thought.

Craft tasks seems to be just a little bit away from being good enough. The best part of using craft for tasks is the tasks live within notes, which organically is the best place for them to be when creating them. We ideate the next set of tasks when we research an idea, flesh out a concept, discuss a problem with someone else. Thats where notes reside and tasks or action items should be just beside that.

The problem starts when we are planning when to work on these tasks. We want to plan our week, look at all tasks for 4-5 different projects and plan out our professional work week. We want to look at our chores and fit in our chores on specific days when we have bandwidth. While technically craft provides a "all tasks" view, I think the UI is nowhere close to the quality of user experience Craft otherwise boasts of (thats kind of the USP for using Craft anyway). Trying to be objective I find the following things must have for a fully featured task management:

- Tasks markable to In Progress (not just todo or done)
- Instead of All tasks, have custom views having selection of tasks using filters (tag filter, document filter, etc). Let us build our own views instead of having everything in one place.
- Keep task views separate from documents preferably - I personally feel that creates a separation of concern which helps productivity.

I have vibecoded a crude solution, thanks to the fact that Craft exposes everything over APIs, which has currently helped me move away from all other task apps fully into craft. I successfully combined all my needed features, but it definitely a different app working on the same data, and hardly having the polish we can get from a paid application like Craft. Looking forward to some of the same features on the craft app itself.

Anyone else feels this as a priority for their work?

Waiting tasks in Craft

Im thinking I may be able to move my task management into Craft. Its very well done. One thing I cant seem to get around is statusing a task as waiting. Sometimes I have a task that I am waiting for something on. Doesnt seem to be a way to use tags in tasks? Neither inline nor even in the body.

Those using tasks, has anyway found a workflow for this?

Lots of new features…that’s great but when are you going to make Android app usable?

Honestly, the single most needed feature on android besides the fact that it works terribly in landscape view on a tablet is the ability to share into the app using the android share menu. Having a Notes app that doesn’t allow you to share into the app is only slightly better than pointless. While great to have available on Android, adding any content is super hard because you can’t share into the app. Please please fix this. I’m barely able to take advantage of my paid subscription because of this huge missing feature. I saw that you had an android app which was fantastic. Only to Later learn that it’s just a web wrapper and you can’t actually share into it.

Please add a TRUE dark mode 🖤

Jo developer team, please add a true dark mode like pitch black. I really hate this greyish dark mode; it looks ugly. 😭

Give us that OLED-level black. 🖤

Craft sometimes imports Markdown tables as empty

It seems that Craft has trouble importing certain table data correctly from Markdown files.

I've noticed this issue for quite some time, and it occurs intermittently. Some tables are imported correctly from a .md file, while others appear empty after the import. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to identify what causes this difference.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a possible explanation or workaround?

Create new Lines

I love craft but: There NEEDS to be an easier and better way to create empty and new lines in texts and between objects, its currently such a pain.

For example, if you have multiple website cards and want to space them out? Right, you copy text or an empty line, paste it onto (?) the top website card so a new line gets created and then delete the content so its empty, seriously?

Integrations

I’m pretty much all in on Craft no interest in moving to notion but I am interested in the idea of how many apps come out and seem to have automatically built-in integration to notion why doesn’t Craft have the same. Is it to do with Craft architecture or a philosophical difference?

Craft & iOS / iPadOS / macOS 27 App Intents

To anyone at the Craft Docs team...

Are there any plans to include Craft Docs with the new App Intents with the upcoming software update, so the new Siri AI can index & reference what is in Craft Docs?

I'm using the developer beta and it's fantastic but all my Readwise highlights / facts etc live in Craft Docs and would be incredibly handy to use the new Siri AI to reference what I have already saved - thanks!

Linked collections planned?

Hey everyone,

I have a question about Collections from a total Craft newbie. I have been using Notion for most of my task/project management/life organization... For a few reasons, I am looking to move away (the mobile experience SUCKS), but there is one thing that I really holding me back. I like Craft's UI, workflow, and structure better, but the reason I went to Notion over something like a spreadsheet was having a single source of truth that I can then pull into different pages. For example, if I had separate info pages for three teams with event dates, schedule, other info, etc. I could make each page and have a linked db view of games filtered for the specific team. So my central DB or Collection is the single source of truth that gets pulled into different docs/pages.

Are there any work arounds for Craft to be able to do this or any plans for future functionality in this way?

Import updates - Notion, Evernote, Google Docs and Apple Notes (new)

Hey everyone,

Over the past couple of months, we worked on to improve import capabilities for Notion, Evernote and Google Docs. Also, yesterday we launched the Apple Notes import as well.

+1 - If you have a Quip account, please let me know as we are working on a simple Quip import as well.

New @documents created in starting document folder?

Hello there, amazing people who have created this gorgeous pleasant text crafter, would it be possible to add in the roadmap a toggle so newly created documents are located in the starting document folder? That would make it easy to manage connected notes.

Do not get me wrong. I do love the inline new-page-creation. I totally love that for craft-only documents. But for documents which are meant to eventually be exported, the cleaning process is a hassle. After finishing a document, if I am able to go outside to the folder and have there all of the connected-documents, organizing the entire project becomes a breeze.

Cheers.

Performance with large block counts /nested pages — anyone hit a wall?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of migrating my knowledge base from Notion to Craft. My structure will be mostly nested pages rather than heavy use of Collections — think a deep hierarchy of docs rather than lots of databases.

My documents will be actually rather short in content, but many of them.

Before I commit fully, I wanted to check with people who've been using Craft for a while with large spaces:

  • Have you noticed any lag or slowdown as your total block/page count grows (either scrolling within a document, or just navigating the sidebar)?
  • Does this show up more on iOS, or on the Mac/Windows/web apps?
  • Roughly how large is your space (block count, page count, or just "years of daily notes") when you started noticing it, if at all?
  • Does heavy nesting (many levels deep) behave differently than a flatter structure with more top-level pages?
  • If you've also migrated from Notion, did you notice a meaningful difference in how the two apps handle scale?

One of my main worries moving off Notion is hitting a similar performance ceiling once a knowledge base gets big, so any real-world experience — good or bad — would be really helpful before I move everything over.

Thanks!

Using a Year or 4-Digit Number for a Tag

Am I missing something? Looking to move over from Evernote where I tag almost every note with the year I created it. Craft throws off the following error if I try to create a numeric tag longer than 2 digits...

Invalid tag: tags.hexcolor.titlekey

...which means I cannot enter a 4 digit numerical tag such as #2026.

Is there a way to do this? If not, why not?

Thanks!

Craft need to streamline the format links added to

This is three different way same youtube link has been added to the same document and all three came as different format.

First one came as Document within document saved from Craft Chrome extension(Added in the top of the document)

Second Came as text link saved from new quick add menu (Added in the bottom of the document)

Third added by copy pasting the link in craft.

I think Craft should have one standard format and second format user can default to their document. So whatever link come to that particular document should be in that desired format.

Craft MCP connector to ChatGPT suddenly stopped working

Has anyone else experienced issues with the Craft MCP connector in ChatGPT?
It was working fine before, and I was able to ask ChatGPT to update content in my Craft documents directly. However, it suddenly stopped working, and ChatGPT can no longer connect to or update my Craft workspace.
The connector still appears to be authorized on my side, so I’m not sure whether this is a Craft MCP issue or something that changed on ChatGPT’s side.
Has anyone experienced the same issue recently? If so, did you find a way to fix it?

Typed letters disappearing

I’m updating my syllabus for anew semester and just now—on all my Apple devices—text that I add disappears or rearranges itself.

This has never happened before and without a way to confidently enter text I’m sunk.

Please help if you can!
