Craftsman box saved from the trash

I scored this box years ago on my trash route, had one messed up drawer. Now it’s used for my bolts and hardware saved over the years. The drawers are organized by thread pitch as well as the little organizers are all fine thread and brake caliper pins. It’s a good feeling having bolts for damn near everything. One man’s trash is my treasure!

Size for ac plug for12” v20 fan

Anyone know what the exact size of this is? Silly that they didn’t include it if it was going to be proprietary instead of 99% of other cordless fans 🤦‍♂️. My 18” dewalt drum fan came with one. Even my flex which uses the standard plug came with a 5foot one. This fan is great and knew buying it that it didn’t come with one but thought the laptop one would work. TIA

Which socket set it worth getting it

Hey guys I want get a craftsman socket set and I understand the versastack offers more tools but I feel like the verastack it bit overkill. I don’t mind paying a little extra all I want is the socket set and wrenches.

Does anyone have a good use for this two zipper pocket?

I’ve been using this versistack bag since December and I still can’t think of a good use for this zipper? Obviously it’s a side pouch and you can reach in from either side to store zip ties or stuff like that, but has anyone found a really good use for it?

Does this new "Advanced" battery actually have less capacity then the previous version? Both 6.0h

The old battery (right) has 120Wh, the new one (left) has 108Wh?

Any idea how old these tools are?

My uncle gave me this box over the weekend. He told me that he aquired in the early 1970s and hadn't opened it since 1983 when he bought a new set. But there's a tube of gasket sealer with a date of 1960 on it. There's also some Proto/P&C, KOKen and Benz-O-Matic in the box if anyone cares.

I also have (what I believe to be) the original receipt for this box that I included in the pictures for shits and giggles. And, as another surprise. The local B-25 bomber flew over while I was outside cleaning it. So I included that too.

Just as a side note, the ratchet is absolutely fantastic. I think it's only a 20 tooth, but it feels rock solid. It works better than any of the other ratchets I have. I definitely see it becoming my go-to 1/2'. I don't know what kind of grease craftsman was using when they built that ratchet, but I could not get it off my hands. It took me probably 20 minutes to get it off. But after cleaning it out and putting some new grease in, it's super, super smooth (and quiet!)

I did wire wheel the inside of the box, and used a very fine wheel on some of the sockets that were rusted (I live in Michigan so I wanted to take care of it before it rotted through, although none of it seems actually rotted. The box still feels very strong) but other than that everything is going to remain as is. I'm not going to try and restore it or anything.

Craftsman T210 issue

I was mowing last week. After about an hour it started to sputter then shut off. If I tried to start it right away it struggled. Let it sit for 5 minutes and it would fire right up. What would cause this?

Craftsman saw 12 any good?

Who has experience with it? My friend got it for me for 60 bucks. I could check it out personally, but for this price, it looked like it was in pretty decent shape. No fence, unfortunately.
So, what can anyone say, good or bad, about this saw? How does it behave against hardwood, and are there any upgrades that can be done?

"What's your Crafts, Man?" - The weekly "what are you working on this weekend" post

Simply put, what are you working on this weekend? In particular, what Craftsman tools if any are you gonna use to get it done? This post (that drops every Friday) is your time to shine.

Did you accomplish something, and you didn't tell us in time? No worries--hop in during the weekend (or whenever) and tell us how it turned out and what you did, just the same. Pictures, descriptions...whatever it takes to share your glory!

Multimeter still functions years later.

Best part is that is uses a 9 volt battery instead of AAA batteries that are more prone to leakage.

Craftsman push mower repair

ISO parts for repairing my craftsman push mower. I’ve been to all the hardware stores and even tried to call around to repair shops but no one seems to be able to help me fix this lawn mower. It was working just fine until the beginning of spring when I pulled the mower out of my shed for the first time this season. I pulled the start cord and a plastic part came flying out from the cover of the mower.

My really mini Craftsman tool box works great for holding spare plastic pop pins for my 4Runner 😆. This thing has been hanging around for years….

But in reality the lock on my lower tool chest finally popped out when I was trying to unlock it - after 23 plus years of use, bummer.

I was able to pop a couple drawers open using this long metal stick, but when I fix it - the lock is getting a nut to tighten the lock in place instead of relying on just the clip!

Craftsman weed eater

Hi I’m considering buying the craftsman weed eater model CMCST930P1. I’m just curious on the feed option I notice that this is not a bump feed and only has one eyelet for the line. I’m considering buying this to get on one battery ecosystem and wonder if the one eyelet has any issues on just normal weeds and trimming/edging small yard.
