BRIGHT-side: Endometriosis

This is another page in the dictionary of BRIGHT-side. Showing the feeling of helplessness to a foreign parasite that is still your own body. Not even full removal of the uterus and fallopian tubes could be considered a cure because the tissue can exist outside and still cling multiple organs together.

This was a request, as I cannot even have this, and was made with their input throughout the process.

Putrefactio, acrylic on canvas, by me (Louis Braquet)

In alchemy, putrefactio is the crucial stage of decomposition and rotting where old forms break down completely. Represented by the blackening or nigredo, this process reduces materials to a uniform black mass. It is the essential death of the old before spiritual or physical rebirth.

"Evil Eye" by Micah Allen Losh.

The evil eye is an ancient, supernatural belief that a malevolent or envious glare—often born from jealousy—can inflict harm, bad luck, or misfortune upon the person being looked at.

Rooted in history as far back as 3,000 B.C., the concept spans thousands of cultures across the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia. The superstition warns that when someone gazes at your success, wealth, or good fortune with envy, they unintentionally or intentionally project negative energy your way. In many traditions, children, pregnant women, and the highly successful are considered the most vulnerable.

Happy Clown, Sad Clown; Forrest Hines, 2026

These have been my ‘in between’ illustrations to kill time between bigger projects. They’ve been at this stage for a whole, not sure what to do with them. So, I thought I’d share them.

When parents weren't made to be so.

That's my perspective on the left. The text is mother talking.

Edit: This isn't political. I meant I am the baby on the left of the page.

The Dover Demon.

On the 21st of April in 1977, William "Bill" Bartlett, who was 17 at the time, made the claim that while he was driving, he saw a large-eyed creature "with tendril-like fingers" and glowing eyes on top of a broken stone wall on Farm Street in Dover, Massachusetts.
John Baxter, who was 15 years old, also reported seeing a similar creature on Miller Hill Road that same evening. Abby Brabham, also 15 years old, claimed to have seen the creature on Springdale Avenue, the following night.
The teenagers all drew sketches of the alleged creature. Bartlett wrote on his sketch, "I, Bill Bartlett, swear on a stack of Bibles that I saw this creature." According to the Boston Globe Newspaper, "the locations of the sightings, plotted on a map, lay in a straight line over 2 miles".
It has been suggested that the creature could have been a moose calf or perhaps even a horse foal. Local police told the associated press that the creatures reported by the teenagers "were probably nothing more than a school vacation hoax."
Loren Coleman who interviewed all witnesses at the time, coined the name 'The Dover Demon' and to this day, quite rightly maintains that this 'creature' is still considered to be, an 'unknown'.
