My grand my marquis has 112k on the dash. Noticed it started loosing coolant weeks ago but it never overheated. I believe it’s the intake manifold. Then not too long ago the car start jerking around 40-50mph. 3-5 jerks then it stops. Or comes back if I’m not flooring it up a hill. If I try cruising up a mill. Misfire. I know it’s a misfire cause I took it to o’reilys.

Bad news: I’m broke with $30 to my name

Good news: I start a new job this week after being unemployed for awhile. Highest I’ve ever been paid

Best part is…. I’ll be traveling state to state on plane so the car can stay parked for now. Such perfect timing .

But I don’t want to give up my car when I return home…..

Is my engine cooked given I’ve been driving it a misfire ?

I have decided in my 18 years of life on this earth that I love old american cars. Grew up with honda and thats all well and good, but my current and first ever car is a 2000 marquis. Love it to death. In all of my time learning about my car, I have decided that my dream car is a 2004 + lincoln town car (or any panther but the ltcs are fancy for similar prices so why not) with the suspension swapped out for the highly durable P71 suspension from whatever year is compatible with said hypothetical dream car. What else would you guys do to this vehicle to increase its reliability and overall quality to make it even better? Just a fun little idea to toy with in my head while I go through college and maybe one day get the job that allows me to make my dreams come true

So we have a 2004 crown Victoria LX. For the last couple weeks she’s been running really hot and I’ve had to stick on the heaters to keep her at normal temp. Just replaced the thermostat ,and I replaced the Electric fan a couple months ago. Not loosing coolant. The top hose of my radiator gets up to temp. Any ideas?

Edit: weird thing is, at night it worked fine ,even before I replaced the thermostat. It’s just like it’s too hot or smth idk.

Whats the best additive to use in these engines since their now putting ethanol in the gas. I read that it eventually destroys things in the engine over time. It's not good for cars older then 2000, does anybody know of a good fuel stabilizer I can add to my car. Anybody hear about the effects of this stuff, I've read nothing but bad news, and there is no regular gas around me. And I don't know if regular ethanol free gas is coming back.

I just wanted to know if it would be possible at all to get a steering wheel with volume controls and put it in my p71 without volume buttons on the steering wheel? Im assuming it wouldnt just be as simple as swapping it but how hard would it be to do that?
