I knew about cuphead for a while but I like just recently found a character I like 🥹
I think she’s so cool because I love pretty much anything military and aviation related and also because she absolutely SERVES!
I also experimented with shadows.

My non-gamer girlfriend and I are on the finale of Cuphead now. I suggested we play this game because of the art style but I thought she’d hate it because of the difficulty. I was very wrong. She ADORES it, I’m pretty sure it’s her favorite game of all time out of the few she’s played.
I’m wondering what else is out there that even comes close to it. I’m planning on getting her to try Shovel Knight, as that’s the closest thing I can think of, but is there anything else out there that matches the charm of Cuphead? I know it plays like old school games such as Contra / Metal Slug / etc., but I doubt she would be into those because it’s big buff army dude shooting bad guys and not cute old school cartoon characters on a wacky Looney Tunes adventure.
Doesn’t have to be a run n gun side scroller, she’s so new to gaming that she’s open to any genre. Just not sure what else out there will scratch the itch that Cuphead did, and I honestly don’t even know how to be more specific than that lol.

First of all wanted to mention that the bosses are NOT organized within the tiers. Sally could have taken me longer than Ribby and Croaks although she’s lower on the tier.
I gotta say I’m not surprised I first tried those 5 bosses. Easy as hell.
I was SUPER proud of myself I beat king dice after only 1 stupid death. I used heart ring and I was like hm this isn’t working so I switched to divine relic and it was easy. Not surprised at the rest of the tier.
Third tier is CRAZY I did NOT expect Beppy to be as hard as he was and The Devil and Dr Kahl took me way less attempts than i anticipated (I S ranked Dr. Kahl without even trying to get the S rank). I also expected Esther to take a bit longer. Rest of the tier makes sense.
2nd tier is also mental. I expected Chef Saltbaker to take WAY longer and Howling Aces to take like 3 attempts max. Howling aces became one of my favorite bosses because of expert mode. Wally and Grim make sense. Grim was really fun but fuck Wally warbles.
Now the biggest surprise to me, CALA MARIA TOOK 21 ATTEMPTS DUDE. I was not expecting that at ALL. I always thought the boss is stupid because it literally takes away your ability to move, while 439 eels shoot 73 projectiles at you (each) (numbers not exaggerated) I thought she would be the boss that would end my run but out of nowhere I just got to the final phase with 5 hp and won. (Fun fact my friend suggested listening to stupid ass music to calm down and relax so I can lock in better, so I put thick of it by KSI and beat it the first try after that 💔)
I was having my doubts recently but it’s solidified for me now, Cuphead is the greatest game of all time!
I mean like would after enough generations pass by on both sides would the next gen devil want revenge just because his father has beef with cuphead or would it be possible for the next gen devil and kids of cuphead and mugman to get along despite their father’s beef because they think it’s not related to them in any way? Also who do you think is more likely would fall in love with the devil’s son if it wasn’t a generational beef

The full context is that cuphead’s son and devil’s son love to break rules when they are doing mischief to each other (because they have no boundaries) and in that context would in character if game devil gains respect for cuphead’s son cause he enjoys breaking the rules with his own son and maybe offer the position of being the devil?

I havent beat it yet but like its an easy pattern,
Phase 1: go up take the antenna with bombs rush down as a mini version hug the bottom left corner, take the hatch and then dodge and shoot the middle, nuke the heart,
Phase 2: shoot all the black electro bombs when the head is rushing towards the left side and use your bombs to shoot the head when he is rushing towards the right side, once you did that then,
Phase 3: lock in only look at your character as your eye will be surrounded with the particles he shoots, dodge them and beware of the walls, while simultaneously moving up and down to shoot dr kahl with your darts until you beat him. I hope my guide helped✌️
The bad ending in the cuphead game could qualify for being the worst case scenario for elder kettle however the good ending could still contain a worse case scenario, feels like cuphead and mugman are getting rewarded for their bad decisions so they could end up not learning their lesson due to this (they end up being considered heros in the good ending just cause they made a bad decision)
Cuphead is natively limited to 2 players, and you can play with up to 4 players now !
I built Cuphead4PFixes to completely repair the broken AI, fix map/DLC progression, and add dynamic damage scaling so a full 4-player run can actually be finished from start to finish.
What I mean despite the fact that cuphead and mugman burned down their contracts that still doesn’t change the fact that they had to fight cuphead and mugman without knowing what they will do with the contract but not sure if this is confirmed for not but if cuphead and mugman would have destroyed the contracts from the start there was no reason to hide it even if a fight happens regardless of whether they knew the reason or not
