r/CurveCard

Curve blocked my card for 4 months, unblocked it, then reblocked it 24 hours later — claiming I never responded to verification

Long time Curve customer. Sharing this in case others have had similar experiences.

In March 2026 my account was blocked without notice while I was travelling abroad. No explanation given. This is a card I use specifically for zero FX fees when travelling, so the timing couldn't have been worse.

Here's what happened over the next 4 months:

  • Weeks of "high volumes" stalling emails with zero resolution
  • Filed a formal complaint in April — Curve failed to respond within the FCA's mandatory 8-week window
  • They eventually asked security questions — I answered promptly, they ignored my reply for weeks
  • Sent me a KYC request with a 7-day deadline while my own emails sat unanswered
  • I submitted full KYC documentation in May — they later claimed never to have received it
  • Charged me monthly subscription fees the entire time my card was blocked
  • 30 June: Curve finally confirmed restriction removed, card "fully active and ready for use"
  • 2 July (yesterday): Account suspended again — Curve claiming I never responded to verification

I have every email documented including Curve's own acknowledgement of my KYC submission and their 30 June confirmation.

Currently escalating to FOS, FCA, and pursuing a chargeback for fees during the blocked period.

Has anyone else dealt with anything like this? Any advice welcome.

Every online curve transaction now blocked - "The transaction cannot be made against this terminal..."

Every online transaction I am currently doing is throwing this error. The underlying card is working fine. Gbit seems to be working OK. In person transactions look to be OK. However everything online is failing, including items I have purchased before (example Netflix).

Investigating it looks like this error relates to a bank refusing a transaction as its being billed as debit but actually credit - i.e. trying to block cash transactions on credit cards... however I am not doing cash transactions.

Have Curve have changed something specifically recently, if so I would expect everyone is getting this error?

So far 24 hours with nothing (meaningful) back from support :(

Card blocked, horrendous support

Hey all

A common theme here, my card was blocked with no explanation. I was told to contact support, which I did and a week later I am still unable to use it.

I'm a pro+ subscriber, I feel strongly that I should be refunded for this month's subscription, I'm paying for something I cannot use. I've raised a complaint and they closed the case before it was resolved. Surely they legally can't do this?

I'm seeking to close my account, I've got quite a bit of money in my wallet, so my question is; what are their obligations and what happens to my cash if I do close my account? Also, what is the typical time period that blocks are resolved by?

To finish, they used to be a great disruptor with great support. What the hell happened to them?

Failed KYC check, AI responses just say "unable to share further details regarding this decision." What now?

I think I either failed my KYC check because I was using a personal domain and not a gmail account or similar, or my camera wasn't light enough when doing my face scan images.

I just bought a smart watch and Curve is the only option in the UK. Am I stuck?

Update: I have managed to get an email from a human and their decision stands.

Currently using a GDPR request to get them to delete the unusable account and as much of my data as possible. I'm aware they can keep some things for fraud prevention, but they are going to have to explain what they are keeping and the legal basis. This is quite annoying as it rules out a lot of brands of wearable tech like payment bracelets, rings etc which also use Curve.

The only option I can find is Tapster which I can connect directly to a Revolut Visa.

Manual ID review

I got a Huawei watch the 24th of may and I've been waiting since then to get my ID manually reviewed. Is this normal? The app says the process “may take up to a day”. The app provides no way to contact Curve or get support, it only shows the manual review screen.
