Hi all! I am having a friend come to DC for thanksgiving and we'd like to go out for a nice thanksgiving lunch in a nice atmosphere (i.e. not a ton of kids running around) with traditional thanksgiving food. No budget, and we're open to suggestions in DC (not Maryland or VA as we won't have a car).

Fine with a nice buffet or a sit down meal. I looked through prior posts on this subject, but they were pretty out of date. Thanks in advance!

Hi friends! I'm looking for a good (early bird) dinner spot for a group of 10 including two toddlers and the majority of the folks are vegetarian.

Half the group will be coming in from Bethesda and the other from Capital Hill so I'm looking for a midpoint spot.

OpenTable options for a group of 10 aren't turning up many kid-friendly looking locations though I could be picking up the vibes wrong. I'm thinking if we do a 5 o'clock hour meal with the possibility of breaking into two tables, maybe a no reservation spot would work.

Would love some suggestions!

I’ll be heading to DC from LA next week for a quick two-day stint—meeting a new client, finalizing a contract, and soaking in the vibrant city. The client, based in Philadelphia, calls DC her hometown and has requested a meet-up there. She also suggested we find a “lively but work-appropriate spot” for happy hour with great cocktails, whether it’s sushi, tapas, or small plates.

Since I’m brand new to DC’s food scene, I’d love to crowdsource some top-notch recommendations from you all to help make this trip a success. I’ll be planning our meetups around 3:30 PM each day, regardless of the neighborhood, as she mentioned location doesn’t matter much. (Please advise if this isn’t true)

Can’t wait for this. Love Astoria and Copycat and can’t get enough of a good tiki bar. Also RIP Little Serrow, one of DC’s best restaurants.

I want to make my own walking pizza tour where I hit 3 places in one evening all on foot. I imagine places that sell slices would make sense since we can’t eat 3 whole pizzas with 2 people. Or at least the first 2 should be slices and then the last could be a sit down spot to share a pie. What three places would make this an interesting night of walking around a neighborhood while also maximizing the best quality of pizza. Bonus for adding in a cool bar, dessert, or other neighborhood highlight along the route. I don’t want any chains but places that have a few locations is fine and I would like it to be downtown. Mileage should be capped at 1.5 total and obviously they need to have overlapping hours.

New to DC (Woodley Park), this will be our first Thanksgiving in DC. We’d rather not cook for just two. Are there restaurants / places in NW DC that do Thanksgiving meals? Doesn’t need to be fancy or formal, necessarily. Your recommendations and suggestions are much appreciated!
