Orange County, CA - 2 night stay

Hi all! Planning a 2-night stopover in the Orange County area before continuing our trip. Flying into SNA late at night, so mainly want a place to relax by the pool for a day or two before heading out again for the rest of our trip. Traveling with 2 kids (12 and 8 ) and I'm Bonvoy Gold Elite so lounge access isn't a factor for us.

Narrowing it down to these options, ranked by value:

  1. Avenue of the Arts, Tribute Portolio/ Marriott Costa Mesa – best deals, breakfast + parking included for less than the others. Only hesitation is some reviews mentioning room cleanliness issues at both.

2.Renaissance Newport Beach/ Marriott Newport Bay View– next best value.

3.Irvine Marriott (not the Spectrum location, that one is way pricier for our dates)

  1. Westin South Coast Plaza / Courtyard Irvine Spectrum – for what these cost, I could get room + breakfast + parking at either Costa Mesa property instead.

Would love any recent experiences, especially on cleanliness at Avenue of the Arts or Costa Mesa. Those are the clear winners on value if the reviews are outdated. Thanks!

Recommendation - with kids

Heading to Montreal and looking for two kinds of recommendations:

• Best Neapolitan or wood fired pizza spots.
• Separately, best Italian restaurants for pasta, atmosphere, and overall vibe.

We’ll have our kids with us (ages 12 and 8) but they’re very comfortable in trendy or upscale restaurants, so no need to limit suggestions to “family friendly” places. We care as much about the atmosphere and energy as the food itself.

Looking for places that feel current, stylish, lively, and genuinely excellent. Casual, trendy, or higher end all work.

What would be your top picks?
