If I deal 100 damage and have my current critical attack chance (26%) and critical arrack magnitude (106%), than after doing 100 hits, my avarge damage should be 74*100+26*206 =12756 right?

Transformation Card changes my critical attack chance to 46%, critical attack damage to 136%, but it also decreases my normal attack by 21% on level one, so I would deal 79 damage on each hit.

So after doing 100 hits again, do I deal 54*79+46*186,44 = 12842 or 54*79+46*236 = 15122?
Like, is my critical damage calculated from the decreased base attack value (79) or from the previous base attack (100), because crits stay the same? It's a difference between doing 186 or 236 damage on crit in this case.

It would also mean that on max level of this artifact I would deal either 54*85+46*206,6 = 14094 or 54*85+46*236 = 15446. So in one case the artifact only becomes really worth it after upgrading it a lot and in the other case artifact becomes almost as good on level 80 as it is on level 200.

Maybe it's calculated in some completly different way, but right now I don't feel like this artifact is THAT good.

Theracles Kleftis - The Man Who Stole Olympus:

Sing, Muse, of Theracles Kleftis, the road-knowing son of Hermes, the mortal-born thief whose hands reached farther than the hands of kings; who entered the houses of the deathless gods, carried away the treasures of Olympus, and by wit, courage, patience, and a heart unbowed rose higher than any demigod before him.

Sing of the man whom no oracle announced.

No eagle circled above his cradle. No priestess shook beneath the breath of prophecy. No star changed its course when first he opened his eyes beneath the mortal sun.

A woman of earth bore him.

Hermes fathered him.

And this was enough.

For Hermes, guide of travelers, friend of merchants, companion of liars, guardian of crossroads and bright-minded patron of thieves, did not teach his son as warriors teach their sons.

He did not first place a spear in the boy's hand.

He showed him a road.

Then another.

Then the road behind the road.

Hermes taught Theracles every shortcut under the sun and many beneath it. He showed him shepherd paths forgotten by kings, smugglers' tunnels beneath guarded walls, goat trails across mountains where armies could not pass, hidden doors behind temples, and ancient roads between the world of breathing men and those places where mortals entered only through death.

He showed him ways into cities whose gates had never fallen.

He showed him ways out of prisons whose builders had forgotten the exits.

He taught him where spirits crossed rivers at night and where shadows touched places separated by a thousand leagues.

And Hermes led the boy even into the great Labyrinth, the twisting house of the Minotaur, where countless men had entered and found only death.

There he did not give his son a thread.

He gave him understanding.

“Listen to the stone,” said Hermes. “A wall tells you what lies behind it. Watch the dust, for feet remember what men forget. Feel the air. Smell the earth. A maze is only a road whose maker wishes you to believe there is no road.”

Thus Theracles learned every turn, every hidden passage, every false corridor, every opening that Daedalus had concealed within his masterpiece.

When father and son emerged again beneath the open sky, Hermes spoke to him the law by which Theracles would live:

“A locked door, my son, is only a confession that something valuable lies behind it.”

And Theracles remembered.

He grew tall and strong among mortal men, broad of shoulder and quick of hand, but greater still was the swiftness of his thought.

Kings awoke and found their horses missing, only for the beasts to return painted in the colors of rival kingdoms.

Temples lost treasure though no lock had been broken.

Once Theracles clasped hands with a magistrate and departed carrying the seal that had rested in that very hand.

By twenty years no mortal treasury could keep him out.

By thirty there remained no mortal treasure worth stealing.

So Theracles lifted his eyes toward the cloud-hidden peaks.

And looked upon Olympus.

There he discovered a truth that would shape his fate.

The treasures of the gods could not be taken merely by stealth.

Each was guarded by the nature of the god who possessed it.

To take a relic from a deathless one, Theracles would have to surpass that god, if only for a heartbeat, in the very quality the god called his own.

Thus came Athena.

Grey-eyed Athena, mistress of wisdom, keeper of strategy, whose thoughts moved armies before soldiers knew war had begun, kept her sacred helm within a chamber that possessed no door.

When Theracles learned this, he laughed.

For there is no invitation more pleasing to a thief than the words, “There is no entrance.”

He climbed where mortals could not climb. He crossed a bridge visible only to eyes looking elsewhere. At last he entered Athena's chamber through the shadow of the goddess' own image.

Thereupon a pedestal rested the Helm of Wisdom, gleaming beneath light that came from no lamp.

Theracles approached it.

“Poorly hidden,” he said.

And laid his hand upon it.

At once Athena knew.

The chamber folded around him.

Walls became doors and doors became walls. Passages opened only to close. The goddess had already considered every path Theracles chose.

Athena stood not before him but ahead of him in thought.

Then Theracles understood.

He could not defeat Wisdom by thinking faster.

So he caused Wisdom to think for him.

He left signs.

Not false signs, for Athena would have pierced falsehood immediately.

True signs.

Each one pointed toward a conclusion perfectly reasonable and perfectly wrong.

Athena followed his purpose precisely because she understood every clue.

She made no mistake.

Theracles merely chose which truth she would discover.

When at last the goddess found him beyond her chamber, the helm sat upon his head.

Grey-eyed Athena regarded him in silence.

“You did not outrun me.”

“No.”

“You did not overpower me.”

“No.”

Then Athena understood, and something almost resembling amusement entered her immortal gaze.

“You made me choose your road.”

Theracles smiled.

“You chose wisely.”

Athena might have slain him there.

Instead she said, “Wear the helm.”

Theracles obeyed.

Then wisdom struck him harder than any spear.

He saw roads not yet walked, battles not yet fought, consequences born from choices still unborn. He saw kingdoms rise and crumble. He saw gods raging beneath blackened heavens.

And amid the storm he saw himself standing within the court of Olympus.

Not kneeling.

Standing.

Athena watched him.

“You have seen something.”

“I have.”

“Will you turn away from it?”

Theracles removed the helm.

“No.”

“Why?”

“Because now I know the road exists.”

Then Athena, daughter of Zeus, stepped aside.

“Keep what you have taken.”

Theracles looked at her.

The goddess corrected herself.

“No. Not taken.”

Her eyes hardened with respect.

“Won.”

So Theracles departed bearing Wisdom.

Then came bronze-hearted Ares.

The Sword of War was not hidden in a shrine or locked within a treasury.

Ares wore it.

Theracles took it anyway.

During a feast of warriors, while Ares drank and boasted of cities broken beneath his hand, Theracles passed behind him, removed the sword from the god's own belt, and walked calmly toward the door.

He had nearly reached the courtyard when Ares noticed.

The roar of the God of War shook cups from tables.

Theracles ran.

For three days Ares pursued him.

Across mountains they raced. Through forests they thundered. Two mortal armies fled without battle, believing from the noise that the gods themselves had descended to destroy them.

But Theracles knew that strength could not defeat Ares.

War desired battle.

So Theracles denied him one.

He chose narrow passes where mighty arms could not swing. He crossed bridges unable to bear the weight of an angry god. He climbed cliffs no sensible warrior would attempt and doubled back through smoke while Ares charged toward places Theracles had already abandoned.

Ares grew stronger with anger.

Theracles grew cleverer.

At last the God of War trapped him upon a cliff above the wine-dark sea.

There was nowhere left to flee.

Theracles drew the stolen blade.

Ares laughed.

“Do you know what you hold, little thief?”

Theracles examined the sword.

“I assumed it belonged to you.”

Then Ares came upon him.

The clash shattered stone.

Theracles could not match the god's strength, but three days of pursuit had taught him Ares' movements. He knew which shoulder turned before a killing stroke. He knew how anger shortened the god's patience. He knew which insult would draw which blow.

Theracles could not overpower War.

But he could stand where War would not strike.

And move where War expected him to remain.

When at last the struggle ended, much of the cliff had fallen into the sea.

Ares stood bloodied.

Theracles lay upon the stones.

Then the God of War laughed.

A great booming laugh.

“Keep the sword.”

Theracles coughed and answered:

“I had intended to.”

Thus Theracles departed bearing War.

Then he turned his cunning toward earth-shaking Poseidon.

The trident was harder to take than either helm or sword, for the Lord of the Sea rarely let go of it.

So Theracles did what impatient men never understand.

He waited.

Seven years.

He learned the language of currents and the paths beneath waves. He listened to whales and watched storms assemble themselves beyond the horizon. He learned where the sea touched caverns beneath the earth and where the deepest trenches opened into darkness older than the gods.

Then Poseidon descended into such a trench to battle a creature whose name had been forgotten before mankind first kindled fire.

Theracles followed.

He tied stones to his body and sank.

He breathed through an enchanted shell.

He concealed himself within the ribs of a dead leviathan.

When Poseidon drove his trident into the ancient creature and seized it with both hands, Theracles came from hiding.

He took the trident.

And left.

Only later did Poseidon reach for his weapon.

His hand closed upon emptiness.

The sea shook with his fury.

He searched the trench, the coastlines, the temples, the islands.

But Theracles had vanished.

Poseidon did not even know the name of his thief.

Thus Theracles departed bearing the Sea.

Then he turned toward the kingdom of Hades.

Men said none could steal from the Lord of the Dead, for every road entering his realm belonged to him.

But Hermes knew roads Hades did not speak of.

Through these Theracles passed.

He crossed places where the living world pressed thin against the dead. He went behind the watch of Cerberus rather than before his jaws. He traveled corridors abandoned before mortal kings learned to build tombs.

At last he entered the palace of Hades.

Upon the arm of the dark throne rested the Cloak of Invisibility.

Theracles studied it.

Then studied the empty throne.

“A little obvious,” he said.

He took it and disappeared.

No horn sounded.

No spirit cried warning.

No gate slammed shut.

Theracles simply walked out of death by a road his father had taught him.

Later Hades returned to his throne.

He reached for the cloak.

His hand touched stone.

Far beneath the waves, Poseidon was still searching for his trident.

Soon both gods reached the same conclusion.

Someone upon Olympus must know what had happened.

Poseidon stormed into the court of Zeus.

“My trident is gone!”

Before Zeus could answer, dark Hades entered behind him.

“My cloak has been stolen.”

Poseidon turned.

“Your cloak?”

Hades stared at him.

“Your trident?”

Then began such complaining as even Olympus had seldom heard.

Poseidon demanded that every harbor be searched.

Hades insisted that some impossible path had been opened between worlds.

Zeus commanded silence.

Neither brother obeyed.

Athena watched.

Ares grinned.

Hermes found the architecture above him suddenly fascinating.

For while the Lords of Sea and Death complained before the King of Heaven that they had been robbed, the robber himself was already walking through Olympus.

Theracles had visited before.

He knew its balconies and courtyards, servants' passages and forgotten galleries.

He knew the divine armory.

From there he had already taken the golden breastplate of Ares.

And deeper still he had found a relic once carried by mighty Heracles.

The hide of the Nemean Lion.

No mortal blade had pierced that beast. Heracles had slain it with his own strength and worn its skin as proof that impossible things could be overcome.

Theracles stood before the ancient hide.

For once, the son of Hermes had nothing clever to say.

He placed it upon his shoulders.

Still the relics remained separate.

Helm.

Sword.

Trident.

Cloak.

Wings.

Breastplate.

Lion hide.

Great treasures, each bearing a fragment of divine authority, yet still only things Theracles carried.

One remained.

While Hades and Poseidon argued before Zeus, Theracles slipped behind the throne of the King of Gods.

There lay the thunderbolt.

Not common lightning.

Not merely a weapon.

This was the force by which Zeus had broken Titans.

The sign of his kingship.

The authority of Olympus made fire.

Theracles reached toward it.

Athena saw him.

Their eyes met.

The Goddess of Wisdom remained silent.

Ares saw him next.

The God of War smiled.

Hermes did not turn his head.

Perhaps he had known from the beginning.

Theracles closed his fingers around the lightning.

Then the world became white.

The thunderbolt did not strike him.

It entered him.

All the relics awakened together.

Athena's helm blazed upon his brow. The sword of Ares roared within its sheath. Poseidon's trident answered him across distance. Hades' cloak moved without wind. The wings of Hermes spread in burning light. The breastplate of War tightened around him as though forged for his body. The Nemean Lion hide shone like the mane of the sun.

Then Theracles understood.

The thunderbolt was not merely another treasure.

It was a key.

Within Zeus' lightning lived the binding authority of Olympus, the power by which divine will became divine law.

That power passed through Theracles and touched every relic he had gathered.

And the relics knew him.

Athena's helm knew the mind that had outstrategized Athena.

Ares' sword knew the warrior who had outmaneuvered Ares.

Poseidon's trident knew the patience of the man who had waited seven years for a single perfect moment.

Hades' cloak knew the courage of one who walked freely through the kingdom of death.

Hermes' wings knew the cunning of his son.

The Nemean hide knew a heart that refused to surrender before the impossible.

The relics did not obey because Theracles had stolen them.

They obeyed because they approved of the man who had been clever enough to take them.

Divine power rushed through mortal blood.

The gods expected Theracles to burn.

He did not.

He changed.

The treasures of Olympus ceased to be things he carried.

They became part of him.

Theracles opened his eyes.

They burned white.

The court had fallen silent.

Poseidon no longer complained.

Hades stared.

Zeus slowly turned.

Theracles stood behind the throne holding the lightning.

“Found it,” said the son of Hermes.

And vanished in thunder.

Only then did fear enter Olympus.

For the gods realized that the stolen relics no longer wished to return.

Zeus sealed the gates.

He placed guards upon the roads.

He commanded every secret entrance closed.

But Hermes had taught his son too well.

And Theracles no longer needed a secret entrance.

When he returned, he came openly.

Above Olympus, the clouds broke.

Theracles descended from the heavens wearing the power of the pantheon.

Athena's helm crowned him.

Ares' breastplate guarded him.

The Nemean Lion hide rolled behind his shoulders.

Hermes' wings burned at his ankles.

Sea, death, war, wisdom, and heaven answered his will.

Yet at his waist remained one simple dagger.

His own.

The only weapon he carried that had belonged to Theracles before the gods knew his name.

Then he fell upon Olympus.

He struck the court like a thunderbolt cast by Zeus himself.

Marble burst beneath his feet.

Columns cracked.

Golden fire swept across the hall.

And every god rose from his throne.

Poseidon saw his power answer another master.

Ares saw his armor upon the thief and felt anger mingle with pride.

Athena looked upon the face beneath her helm and knew that the vision had arrived.

Hades watched without speaking.

Hermes smiled.

Then Zeus descended from his throne.

The King of the Gods stood before the son of Hermes.

“You come into my court clothed in what you stole from us?”

Theracles looked upon the gathered immortals.

Then upon Zeus.

“I did not steal Olympus.”

Thunder shook the hall.

Theracles smiled.

“I proved it could be taken.”

Zeus' eyes flashed.

“You are still a demigod.”

Then Theracles looked around him.

Every god in Olympus was standing.

“No,” he answered.

The hall became silent.

“You just stood up.”

Thus did the gods understand what had happened.

Theracles had not gained his power merely by stealing sacred things. Each relic had required him to prove himself against the god who possessed it. He had outstrategized Wisdom, outmaneuvered War, outwaited the Sea, escaped Death, and taken Heaven's lightning from behind the throne of its king.

No prophecy had chosen him.

No army had carried him there.

No god had granted him a crown.

He had found the hidden road to kingship in the same manner Hermes had taught him to find every other road.

Kronos had taken the heavens from Uranus.

Zeus had taken them from Kronos.

Now Zeus looked upon Theracles Kleftis and understood that another age had come.

They ceased calling him demigod.

They called him King.

And Theracles, road-knowing son of Hermes, master of hidden ways, bearer of the treasures of the gods, looked into the storm-bright eyes of Zeus.

Then, before all Olympus,

the bandit scourge of the divine stole the throne.
