Annoying Requests, how do you deal with them?

You know when you're playing a Techno set and someone suddenly asks for Reggaeton? Or you're playing Hip Hop and someone requests Trance?

That's just part of being a DJ, and everyone handles it differently.

Open Format DJs have more freedom to switch between genres, but even they need to wait for the right moment. Otherwise, the whole set can lose its flow and stop making sense.

How do you deal with requests that just don't fit the vibe of your set?

I'm currently developing a game called DJ Life Simulator, and this week I added a minigame inspired by this exact situation.

If you reject the request, you lose some crowd points. If you accept it, you have 60 seconds to play the requested track or genre. If you don't, the request pops up again, this time even bigger and more annoying on the screen. 😅

Do you think that captures the experience pretty well? Haha.
