3rd year started. Am I cooked?

I want advice on how to get an internship by the end of my 3rd year. So far, I haven't done much. In my 1st year, I only learned frontend development, and that's about it.

Best Resource to Master Graph and DP

I'm stuck on Graphs and Dynamic Programming. I understand the basics, but I struggle to solve medium and hard problems on my own.

Can you recommend the best resources, playlists, or problem lists that helped you master these topics? Any structured roadmap would be appreciated.

20M Seeking a Female DSA Accountability Partner for Daily Coding

Hi! I'm a 20M B.Tech CSE student looking for a DSA accountability partner.

I'm currently following Striver's A2Z DSA Sheet and solving problems on LeetCode. My goal is to stay consistent and prepare for internships.

I'm looking for a female study partner (18+) who is also serious about DSA. We can:

Set daily coding goals

Share progress and motivate each other

Discuss doubts and approaches

Have a quick 10–15 minute check-in daily

No pressure or competition—just helping each other stay consistent.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM with your current DSA level and goals.

where to learn backtracking from?

I want to learn backtracking in Python, but I'm finding it really hard to understand the thought process behind it.

I tried watching Aditya Verma's backtracking playlist, but it's in C++, and I keep getting distracted trying to translate the code into Python instead of understanding the actual algorithm.

Can anyone recommend good Python-specific resources (YouTube channels, playlists, articles, or courses) that explain backtracking from the basics? Also, if there's a particular approach or pattern that helped to solve backtracking problems

Need advice on starting DSA

Hey Everyone,

I'm in my 3rd year of CSE and I've finally decided to focus seriously on DSA because placements are getting closer.

The problem is, there are many resources that I'm confused about where to start. Some people suggest Striver, others say Abdul Bari, Love Babbar, Apna College, or paid courses.

I also can't decide which language to stick with. I know the basics of C, C++, and java but I don't want to waste time switching between languages.

So I wanted to ask:

Which YouTube channel or course helped you the most?

Which language would you recommend for placements?

If you were starting DSA from scratch in your 3rd year, what roadmap would you follow?

Would really appreciate advice from people who have already gone through placements or internships.

Thanks!

Struggling with Trees

Ive realized my biggest issue with trees isn't understanding the concepts it's translating them into code I know what DfS does and I usually understand whether the information should flow upward or downward, but when I start coding, I freeze.

The base case is usually fine. After that I struggle to decide:

  • what recursivee calls to make,
  • what each function should return,
  • when to use && or ||.
  • what conditions belong before recursion and which belong after,
  • whether I should return a value or update a global variable.

I often understand the solution after seeing it, but I have trouble deriving it on my own. It feels like I'm missing the recursive thought process rather than the tree concepts themselves.

I have been doing dsa for a while now, i couldn't maintain consistency so I started again, but even now, when I do questions, 2 days later I am not at all able to recall the optimal approach or anything related to the question except a shit ass two loops approach. what do I do? been following the striver's dsa sheet btw.
