My friend was preparing to join as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) after clearing **Anglo-Eastern's** interview on his second attempt. He went for his pre-sea medical exam at **IHPL Global LLP**, Andheri, on June 22nd.
During the exam, the company doctor found something abnormal in his heart and asked him to see a cardiologist for a 2D Echo. The doctor told him clearly: if the cardiologist's report comes back normal, he'll be cleared to proceed with the company.
My friend went for the cardiology consultation at his own expense with **Dr. Robin Pinto** (MD, DM, Consultant Cardiologist). The 2D Echo report was completely normal. No VSD, ASD, or valve problems. The cardiologist confirmed in writing that the murmur was "functional," not a heart problem, and that my friend was fit for his job at sea.
Despite this normal report, exactly what the company doctor said would clear him, he still received an email from Anglo-Eastern stating he was medically unfit. No medical reason was given that matched the cardiologist's findings.
We asked for a letter explaining exactly why he was declared unfit despite a normal specialist report. We never got one. Every follow-up just pointed back to "the systolic murmur," without explaining why a confirmed normal echo didn't matter.
Our questions:
If a specialist's report says normal, can a medical center still override it without giving a reason?
Is there a DG Shipping appeal process for cases like this?
What legal recourse do we have, since this is directly affecting someone's career and livelihood?
This is also a heads-up for future candidates: even if you're told "get a specialist report, and if it's normal you're clear," that may not actually be the final word. Document everything, and ask for written reasons at every stage.

I'm stubborn ik, people often jump from other languages like c or python, java to rust but I wasted a lot of time and decided to go the hardest way.. till now I didn't feel like that.. but still if I say why i choose it? idk I see the future with this language probably.. if i learn python or other languages now the market is already filled with all roles.. rust has less jobs in my country but I'd at least try outside right so.
I'm learning basics from scratch the system works and how to code.. and all from gpt.. I've made my mentor and given specific instructions not to break rhythm not to provide code unless i do stuff myself and all yeah it's silly but that's how I learn slow but properly.
ai will eat up everyday then why learn? cause I want to learn that's the answer.. could've gone with any but yeah choose rust. ai will give me code I'm sure if it but I want to know stuff right.
now my question to you all.. ofc about jobs.. as I've seen mostly prefer someone with experience atleast with other langs but here I am.. is there any hope for me? ya ik still choose to learn and the reasons are above.
what projects should I keep doing.. is leetcode neet code imp? cause when I tried learning java back then , I was really really bad at data structures and gave up cause I got a support role but now it isn't for me and I want to learn but yeah practicality matters.
same as the title.
i see this in keychains, as a pendent and most use as emojis for nazar.. and what the heck?
can someone debunk this like or give some factual insights.
any bengali ppl please explain the situation.
I recently got a call for DevOps role interview, and I’m honestly both excited and nervous.
My background is mostly in operations and support roles. I do have some foundational knowledge, I’m comfortable with Linux, SQL, basic Python, and general troubleshooting but I haven’t worked in a core DevOps role before.
I’ve been unemployed for a while and haven’t been getting many interview calls, so I really don’t want to mess this up.
For those already in DevOps:
- What kind of questions should I expect for an entry-level / transition role?
- What topics should I focus on revising quickly?
- How deep do they usually go into tools like Docker, CI/CD, cloud, etc. for someone like me?
Any last-minute tips or things I should definitely not miss would really help.
had a package which needed to be sent to Bengaluru asap. so any recommendations?
Thinking of roaming around tomorrow, so I thought Agumbe could be my first stop. After that, I don't really have a plan and might just keep travelling wherever the day takes me.
Planning to leave Mangalore as early as possible. What's the first bus that goes towards Agumbe? If not Agumbe, any early morning bus heading towards the Ghats on the Udupi, Sringeri, Kalasa, Chikkamagaluru side works too.
Not looking at Charmadi, Sakleshpur or Madikeri side.. since I might return through that side later in the day.
Just want to spend a day wandering around after being at home for quite a while. Would be really grateful for any suggestions.
Also, do these buses usually leave from State Bank or KSRTC Lalbagh?
This scene is labeled as Hyderabad, but most of the shop signboards visible in the frame appear to be in Tamil, not Telugu. To me, it looks more like old Madras/Chennai footage than Hyderabad.
Am I missing something, or is this actually a mistake?
