My memories tend to be colored by emotion, but in my hazy recollection the Gulutzan hire was based on three things...

1. The need for a more physical Stars - not just in the playoffs, but from Day One. This lasted about 2 weeks last season...?

2. The need for a better power play - which sorta happened last season, despite it not feeling that way at the moment.

3. DeBoer wasn't getting us over that final hump from Conference Finals to Finals Finals - which we solved by losing in the first round.

I know, I know - it's not that black and white and there are other factors, but that's why I'm here - remind me why I'm taking the wrong approach to this, please :-)

1. The “We’ll be back” slide with that music on repeat. that’s gonna get super annoying super quick.

2. Inconsistent audio volume. It felt like if Josh or Razor turned and kept talking it’s like they turned away from the mike. I don’t know if that’s what happened but it would go normal to almost whisper back to normal periodically.

Probably the least of our concerns right now but does anyone else think the new scorebug on the screen on Prime is just ugly looking? I prefer a clean smaller box in the corner. Don’t know if I’m alone on this but I’m not a fan.

Some things that stood out:

• Robo starting the season with 2 straight games in the "Off Night" quadrant. Tied for the second lowest player score, with only Blackwell scoring lower
• Blackwell comes in to replace Kiviranta, and ends up being the lowest rated forward just like Kiviranta was in Game 1
• Strong Corsi start continues for Steel, as he led the forwards there (tied with Faksa)
• Seguin in a tie for most SOG amongst forwards for the 2nd straight game, but not great two-way play once again
• Miro leading in SOG, with 2 more than any forward
• Bish and Myers with the 2 worst Corsi percentages of the D-men
• Nils with 4 giveaways, 2 more than anyone else
• Hintz with 4 hits
