Problem 1: sound buttons should be used sparingly, not after every other word.
Problem 2: the wrong button is prompted multiple times, where another one would fit better or even when none of them fit.
But the worst offense: THE OCTOPUS BUTTON IS NEVER USED. EVEN WHEN THE WORD OCTOPUS IS MENTIONED OR THERE’S OCTOPI DIRECTLY ON THE PAGE, THEY ALWAYS USE THE “MILES GETTING SPLASHED” BUTTON INSTEAD! JUSTICE FOR OCTOPUS BUTTON!

Where the F are Big Bird’s parents…

And why is it Maria’s job to constantly deal with him? I mean this woman had to take him to an OBGYN appointment with her, I can’t imagine being pregnant and having to deal with him at the same time.

We know he has parents, two grandparents, and a little brother. So why does he live alone? Is he a ward of the state????? He’s not an adult….

The new batch of Bluey Minisodes are diabolical

I was hyping my kids up (and myself honestly) for some new Bluey content....only for it mostly to be ANNOYING COUNTING SONGS FROM AUSTRALIA??? Best case scenario my children start annoying me as much as Bluey and Bingo are annoying Chili??

Let's discuss.

A very random question regarding picture book rhymes

I'm curious to know whether you notice and/or are bothered to see a slant rhyme like this where a plural word is rhymed with a non-plural word: far / cars. To me these words rhyme but apparently it bothers some people!

Amelia Bedelia taught me something

I have been reading Amelia Bedelia (the newer books where she is a kid) to my child, and it made me come to a realization that made me embarrassed, but was interesting because I don't think I as a grown-ass adult had taken anything useful away from the kids books up to now.

In these new books, she says "whenever she didn't know what to say, she asked a question".

I literally never did that as a child, nor as an adult. I would ask a question if I had one, but I never searched for questions as a way to continue a conversation, which feels like such a basic skill now that I hear it out loud but I have been totally clueless. I always had a hard time figuring out how to be a human around other humans, and had no friends for most of my childhood. I fake human interaction well enough as an adult that I have managed to make friends, but I have been catching myself actually saying this advice to myself in my head when I want to talk to someone. It is great and embarrassingly obvious advice now that I hear it, and I hope my daughter ends up more socially well-adjusted than I was. It is the thing I hope for her the most.

Maybe this isn't a conspiracy but this is the only subreddit I know about where adults talk about the shit being pedaled to kids, so here's my two cents.

So are Gen 3 and 4 Rainbow Dash related in any way?

Rewatching The Princess Promenade after a long time (it was one of my favorite movies when I was younger) and I can't stop thinking about old Rainbow Dash. Like there's no way this is the same one from gen 4, especially considering the fact she doesn't have wings, so how exactly are they related? Is she her aunt that she was named after? Do they just happen to have the same name and a very similar appearance? What is going on here?

Is anyone bothered by pinkalicious ?

My girlfriend is autistic she loves cartoons mainly ones from her childhood mostly PBS shows right now she's obsessed with Pinkalicious she watches reruns on the PBS app and on YouTube. Honestly I don't see what's so amazing about a girl who cries and bitches about everything pink this is not normal behavior for a 7-8 year old girls I know girls are meant to love pink yet this is beyond obsessed she's just a female version of Caillou. Every time there's a family event going on she cries because nothing is pink she cried on her birthday wish cuz her party was * ruined * cuz everything wasn't pink she cried and bitched on her family vacation to BeigeVille all cuz she can't remember the last time she saw anything pink uh hello dumbass your dress is pink your car is pink even your gay little brother is wearing a pink shirt honestly I never heard of a 5 year old boy loving pink as much as his sister I can see if they were twins but this is not normal. She even embarrassed herself in front of her new friends on their vacation also ran off crying due to the fact there was nothing pink also made her friends feel extra bad that's not how friends are supposed to act especially to someone they just met also this is not normal for an 8 year old girl normally kids are out of that bossy whiny stage when they're at least in kindergarten or 1st grade one thing I did love about that episode when Peter asked if Beige even a color honestly I was wondering the same thing. Plus she brought her imagery unicorn to school the teacher specifically said no imagery friends allowed WTF it's invisible it won't hurt anyone not like it'll blow the school up also again your in 3rd grade your getting too old for imaginary friends especially unicorns even Arthur didn't go that low that show is still better than Pinkalicious anything is better than her Caillou and Dora put together. Also why do creators a lot of kid shows make the main characters who are bossy and whiny older than the normal audience no 8 year old would act like that they should make them stick with preschool age like Caillou and Daniel Tiger cuz that's a bad role model that's just gonna teach 8 year old girls and older that that's okay how to act especially during their teen years that's no good either using characters older than the audience is just a bad example my girlfriend was obsessed with Franklin when she was a kid it came out when she was 5 the main character Franklin was 7-8 now she's 33 because of her autism she thinks it's okay to grouch and act mad at everything cuz she grew up watching that thinking it's okay she do it all the time just a littlest things they seriously shouldn't do that especially not for autistic kids and adults in the audience who don't know better it seems to be a bad example to me. Her anger and attitude has gotten better she's matured over the years though she said when she was a kid and a teen it was really bad Is anyone else bothered by Pinkalicious or find her annoying AF ?

Question about Sentient Objects in Blues Clues

Watching Blues Clues and You with our toddler this morning, and I was wondering, how come some objects are sentient and talking and moving while others are not? Why can side table jiggle around but not any other table? My husband said that maybe all of them are alive and just some are ordered to be silent, or perhaps deceased.

Does anyone else have theories? Also yes we’re currently growing molars so we’re all sleep deprived.

What in the nightmare fuel is up with Buster’s Uncle Baxter?

Watching Arthur with the kiddo and this creepy ass guy comes on. I get it’s an R. L. Stine cameo, but yikes!

Are the Wiggles....ok?

I swear every time I see them, at least two look like they're being held against their will and forced to perform like circus monkeys. Do they need to be rescued? Should someone call the authorities?

The American overdub of Fireman Sam is an abomination

I first watched Fireman Sam with my nephew when it was on Sprout. I loved it! It helped teach him a lot of safety stuff and opened the door for further discussion about fires, staying away from cliffs, reading the safety signs, etc.

Today I was searching through my Amazon Prime to find something new for my daughter to watch (cause honestly I can’t watch another episode of Sarah and Duck today…they only have one season available and we’ve gone through it 4 times). I found Fireman Sam on there! Heck yes!

But then they *talked*. Why, why, WHY did they feel the need to overdub it with American accents? They were already speaking in English for heaven’s sake! It was so bad I hopped on YouTube to see if I could find it with the original voice acting. Thankfully I did and now my toddler is watching Fireman Sam put out a fire Norman started (because of course he did!)

Is this Welsh erasure? Do they think kids can’t understand what people are saying if it’s not in American English? It’s not like it changed words for things from what I saw. It’s just…odd. And unsettling.

I swear these people are the worst friends.

They follow Little Bear around just to get his mother's cooking. Vultures.
