GORI CEC

My friend told me all his orders come as "GORI CEC" if this is the common method vendors are using, wouldn't USPS know to just look for packages named/marked as that??

"GORI CEC" on your USPS Informed Delivery app refers to the 3rd-party shipping logistics and logistics processor that created the shipping label for your package.
It breaks down as:
GORI (Gori Company / Gori.AI / ShipBae): A shipping technology vendor and logistics platform that e-commerce retailers use to purchase discounted postage and generate USPS labels.
CEC (Corporate Express Couriers): An international/domestic express courier or fulfillment center partner that handles package processing and consolidation before tendering it to the USPS for final-mile delivery.
Why does "GORI CEC" show up instead of the store's name?
When online merchants—especially international sellers, small businesses, or shops on platforms like Shopify, TikTok Shop, eBay, or Amazon—ship an order, they often use a third-party logistics company (3PL) or freight aggregator.
Because the 3PL's commercial account created the shipping manifest with USPS, Informed Delivery displays the account holder's name (GORI CEC) rather than the retail brand you ordered from.
What to check if you don't recognize the order:
1. Recent Purchases: Look at recent order confirmations (emails or app orders) from the last week or two. Common items shipped via Gori/CEC include merchandise, fashion/clothing, small electronics, or items shipped from overseas warehouses.
2. Promotional Items / Free Samples: Check if you signed up for any trial items, replacement parts, or promotional gifts.
3. Tracking Number: Tap on the package entry in Informed Delivery to see the USPS tracking number. You can paste that number directly into the store's customer service lookup or search your email inbox for that specific tracking number to find the matching receipt.
