Dating someone with HSV-2 advice

Im a 36F and I recently met a guy on a dating app who I instantly connected with. We’ve been talking for a while. I really like him and especially admire how he was upfront about his diagnosis. I am dating to marry and I feel this is someone I can see a future with. I must admit I’m super scared. Not to date but to potentially contract. I know its extremely common and many people have HSV2 without knowing cause they don’t even test for this. I say that to say, I’m not judging the disease nor anyone who has it but I am terrified of getting it. He recently contracted it (that he knows of) and has only had one outbreak. Takes meds everyday. He said he’s had unprotected sex (partner knowing) and has never spread it…well, that he knows of lol! I do know that’s possible as well though.

Any advice for me? Advice for intimacy? Advice for planning for children? Can we ever be intimate without condoms? Should I also go on an antiviral to be safe?

Worried

I was touching my buttcheck and I felt this line like bump, now I’m freaking out, when I feel it it feels like a little line and when I put flash on it it looks red and raised. Is this herpes or folliculitis or what could it be? I didn’t feel any other symptoms but now that I’m reading about it idk if it’s that I’m feeling stuff or I’m just scared. Please help

Disclosure in the black community

I know how Reddit can be about race so apologies in advance or whatever lol but please do not sully this and respect I want a cultural, personal, and racially informed/experienced perspective on this and be okay with that. It’s not minimizing whatever culture or race you are.

Black people with this, it is an incredibly stigmatized thing in our community.

Please tell me how disclosure went for you or if you did or just have abstained? I’m curious of age, sexual orientation, gender, and what ya said/how you did it?

I hope our day comes I pray a cure comes💛 trying to get through the ideations daily.

Help please

was diagnosed with genital herpes 2 months ago. I had bumps all around and inside my vagina, and they burned very badly. I had a fever and felt really unwell. Now it has been 2 months, and the sores have been gone for a while. But I still feel sick. I keep sweating, having chills, swollen lymph nodes in my neck, and feeling cold. I also feel warm, especially in my hands. I have joint pain, extreme fatigue, frequent headaches, and shaking throughout my body.
I also have continuous, very watery vaginal discharge, almost like water constantly leaking. And now, suddenly, I also have itching around my anus.
I feel very weak, and my whole body feels different and like it no longer functions normally. I also urinate very little, and my bladder feels swollen.
My question is: Is it possible to remain chronically ill from genital herpes even after the sores have been gone for a long time? Can your body stay like this permanently, for life?

Now what do I do? (SA,TX)

38M. I got genital herpes a couple years back and now I'm single again and struggling with how to tell potential dates. I take my meds and haven't had an outbreak in over a year. There really aren't any good dating sites, and the ones that I've seen really don't reflect the amount of people living with herpes. I really think most people are just lying about their status. I'm 38 and have no kids and I'm really starting to think it's over for me. Dating is already ridiculous for the average guy and now this shit. What should i do? How do I find another person with this? Do I just be upfront and hope they don't run?

Decided to say fuck it and try this. I am a pre-op transgender woman in case you care about that. I’m pansexual and only date 21+. I’m built real nice, love to do a lot of outdoorsy stuff, can talk about a lot of interests for hours.
