I'm fairly new to AoS and am having some trouble figuring out Krethusa's Omens of Doom. As I understand it, when you make a chanting roll you either cast the prayer if you roll high enough, or you bank the roll as ritual points if you don't roll high enough. But there is no choice. I can't roll 5 and decide "nah, I'll bank that instead" because a 5 is enough to cast Omens of Doom (4).

So how do you get to the 10+ possibility? With 10+ you can choose two effects, but you can never get there because in order to do so you need to roll 4+ ok the first attempt, which is enough to cast the prayer normally. And as far as I can tell Krethusa has nothing to add to her chanting rolls so I can't roll a 3 first chant and a 7 next chant, or something similar.

Am I misunderstanding something?

Edit: Figured it out. I was reading the prayer rules wrong. Don't know why it wasn't clicking for me.

I’m about to go to my first-ever Warhammer event on the 31st, and I think I know what I’m bringing but I’m still looking to try and optimize “my” list with what little I have available to me. I’ve noticed that witch aelves have basically disappeared from the tournament lists I’ve been seeing, and I want to understand why that is.

With the release of the new cockfort, I was wondering perhaps anyone had any ideas of even better, examples of how to properly kitbash it in DoK style? 👌

I kind of have an idea, the problem it would cost around 500 European money and would require 4 couldron of blood kits 😅

Hey there! Noobie here. I recently made the move to purchase Daughters of Khaine for my first proper 2k army.

I currently have the new Spearhead (with the cauldron), and the new Battleforce (with Morathi)

Would like to ask for some tips on the various build options:

- Sisters of Slaughter vs Witch Aelves

- Blood Sisters vs Blood Stalkers

- Khinerai Lifetakers vs Khinerai Heartrenders

- Cauldron of Blood vs Bloodwrack Shrine (or magnetise?)

I'm most conflicted about SOS vs WA.

I like the WA aesthetic, and I like the idea of buffing a unit of WA with +attacks to charge in and delete something (but I'm not sure if that is still a meta / viable strategy in the latest book).

I also understand that I will need at least one screen unit and SOS appears to be better suited for that.

Lastly, what would you recommend I get to round out my list to 2k? I am considering a box of blood hags, or more SOS/WA

Hello all! As the name implies I'm having some issues planning my first 2k list, I seem to always be 10pts over or like 80 points short. I'm coming from SBGL where utility units are very important to make up for slow movement so I'm wondering if I'm over thinking it. Trying to get a firm plan for 2k as my local GW shop has it's anniversary soon and I plan to pick up any missing models.

On hand I have

To start, I don't like giant god units so I'm not looking for morathi. I play largly casual with regular tournaments. My collection will eventually expand a great deal, but hoping to have a decent list for my first DoK 2k. I also love the snake ladies, so want to include them. Double cart seems cool, but the hag on caldron seems very circumstantial, and is largely there to buff slaughter on caldron and make the hand of khaine unbanishable sometimes. Plus then I have 2 priest rolls, where with Cronseer and Slaughter on Cauldron I have 3.
