Going to host a teaching game against Ogor Mawtribes this weekend. Never played against Ogor before. Advice to not get stomped?

Basically what says on the title. I offered to host a teaching game on Tabletop Simulator for a veteran of other systems coming onto AOS for the first time, and he'll be playing Ogor Mawtribes. I never played against these guys before, but their army rules seem really scary. Does anyone have any advice on how to at least put a good showing?

Does anyone have tips for facing Seraphon?

I haven't played the game for very long, but they're the army I struggled the most against so far. I run mostly Aelves with a couple of snake heroes, and even with stacking buffs I just can't find a way to trade effectively on Saurus, or deal with Slanns unbinding my spells.

Any help, please?

I think the Blood Hags ability got changed?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember the Blood Hags' once per turn ability being worded similarly to the blood rite for the anointed unit destroying an enemy unit,"1 or more points of damage were allocated by attacks made by this unit", or something along these lines. Now the wording seems to require the BH to be the unit that lands the killing blow.

Can anyone confirm whether that's a change or I'm just misremembering?

Something I feel I'm having a bit of trouble is sticking a balance between Heroes and troops. I know DoK rely on stacking buffs on units to get them extra killy, but I kinda feel like I'm not left with too many units to put those buffs on.

Wanted to double check some advice I received yesterday

I had my first game of AoS yesterday on TTS, my Daughter's of Khaine vs his Fyreslayers. At the beginning he said he was really familiar with Daughters of Khaine and I didn't need to explain my list to him besides the Heroic Traits and similar stuff, so at the end I asked him for advice on list building and I find what he said odd.

To summarize he said that if I wanted to win with DoK I should bring "one or two Khinerai for early Blood Rites, some units to buff Blood Sisters, and then as many Blood Sisters as I could make fit in the army", because "they're the only unit in the roster worth running."

Is that true? I'm excitant of taking his advice because 90% of the army he brought was different heroes in Magmadroths, and when I asked if he had any advice for a Seraphon army I've been thinking about, he talked about spamming Spawn of Chotecs, so he seemed like his preferred play style was to spam the strongest unit in the roster. No hate on that, but that's not really what I'm looking for in the game.

So with all that rambling done: how correct is he? Do you need to spam one or two super units to win in AoS, or can I still manage it with more variety on my lists?

I want to make it clear that I only play on TTS and aren't collecting models at this time, so I'm approaching this only from the perspective of having fun playing with randos online.

Thanks in advance for any insight anyone has to offer.

Newby to both the game and army will be looking for first game on TTS tomorrow, advice wanted.

I really like the theme of the faction, but this will be my first foray into both the game and this army, so I imagine there are some issues with my list I wouldn't think of.

I tried to build something that seemed like it could complete the battle tactics and stack buffs like I've heard DoK want to do, but that's about as far as I went in terms of plans, the rest was just picking units with abilities or stat lines that seemed good. The two Sisters of Slaughter were a last minute addition because I felt I needed more bodies to stand on objectives.

Any advice is appreciated, though I would prefer not using named characters.

Thanks to anyone who gives this attention!

Tried the army again after a while playing Emperor's Children, and MY GOD! (Pure rant)

I had to change my witch cult list due to the new point costs, and felt that was as good a reason as any to take it for a spin again.

I played a Space Wolves army in a PtF mirror match, and. Just. GOD!

Literally the only thing of his I killed in the two turns we played was his Callidus assassin, and I had to shoot and charge it!

Threw a unit of Wyches+Succubus with Lethals and AP from a strat+ 1S from drugs at six Wolfguard Headtakers: I kill maybe 2+ the Wolfpriest leading them, and that was almost all the Succubus.

Charge 5 Hellions+Pain token into the *same* Headtakers: they kill one more.

I surround Bjorn with 2 Scourges: he kills 3 from one unit with Overwatch and rapid ingresses a brick of terminators to block the los of the other.

I won't claim I lost despite playing perfectly, I didn't. But even when I feel I did something right, he just had the saves to make that not matter.

It really feels like picking a space marines army means playing this game on easy mode.

Is what I'm planning a d*CK move/list?

So I built this list to play on TTS:

The Power of Nerd Mummys (2000 points)

Necrons

Strike Force (2000 Point)

Canoptek Court (3 Detachment Points)

Force Dispositions: Take and Hold

ATTACHED UNITS

Attached Unit 1

Geomancer (75 points)

• 1x Tremorglaive

Canoptek Macrocytes (70 points)

• 5x Canoptek Macrocyte

• 5x Claws

• 1x Atomiser Beam and Nanoscarab Projector

• 4x Gauss Scalpel

Attached Unit 2

Plasmancer (55 points)

• 1x Plasmic lance

• 20x Necron Warriors

• 20x Close Combat Weapon

• 20x Gauss Reaper

Attached Unit 3

Plasmancer (55 points)

• 1x Plasmic lance

Immortals (140 points)

• 10x Immortals

• 10x Gauss Blaster

• 10x Close Combat Weapon

Attached Unit 4

Geomancer (90 points)

• 1x Tremorglaive

• Enhancement: Hyperphasic Fulcrum

Canoptek Macrocytes (70 points)

• 5x Canoptek Macrocyte

• 5x Claws

• 1x Atomiser Beam and Nanoscarab Projector

• 4x Gauss Scalpel

Attached Unit 5

Chronomancer (70 points)

• 1x Aeonstave

Overlord With Translocation Shroud (90 points)

• 1x Overlord’s blade

• 1x Resurrection orb

Canoptek Tomb Crawlers (50 points)

• 2x Canoptek Tomb Crawler

• 2x Claws

• 1x Twin Gauss Reaper

• 1x Transdimensional Isolator

Immortals (140 points)

• 10x Immortals

• 10x Close Combat Weapon

• 10x Tesla Carbine

Attached Unit 6

Imotekh The Stormlord (100 points)

• Warlord

• 1x Gauntlet of fire

• 1x Staff of the destroyer

Technomancer (100 points)

• 1x Staff of light

• Enhancement: Dimensional Sanctum

Canoptek Tomb Crawlers (50 points)

• 2x Canoptek Tomb Crawler

• 2x Claws

• 1x Twin Gauss Reaper

• 1x Transdimensional Isolator

Necron Warriors (190 points)

• 20x Necron Warriors

• 20x Close Combat Weapon

• 20x Gauss Reaper

Attached Unit 7

Plasmancer (55 points)

• 1x Plasmic lance

Necron Warriors (190 points)

• 20x Necron Warriors

• 20x Close Combat Weapon

• 20x Gauss Reaper

OTHER DATASHEETS

Canoptek Reanimator (75 points)

• 2x Atomiser beams

• 1x Reanimator’s claws

Canoptek Scarab Swarms (40 points)

• 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarms

• 3x Feeder Mandibles

Canoptek Scarab Swarms (40 points)

• 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarms

• 3x Feeder Mandibles

Canoptek Spyders (65 points)

• 2x Particle beamers

• 1x Automaton claws

• 1x Fabricator claw array

• 1x Gloom prism

What has me worried is attached unit 6. I was planning on using the infiltrators ability it gained from the Dimensional Sanctum to park that brick on a central objective then use the Macrocytes' scout moves to hopefully grab the other central objective and/or the opponent's expansion.

But then I thought how **I** would feel being on the receiving end of having a giant brick of Necron Warriors with a 5+ FNP parked right on my face, and that felt really not fun to go against.

What do you guys think? Would you play again against something that pulled this, or is this an ashole move?

I'm less concerned about how hard this list is to actually fight than as how it makes me look to the other player, if that makes sense.

Edit: Because there seems to be a lot of people misunderstanding me:

Attached unit 6 is composed of 20 Necron Warriors+ a Tecnomancer+ Imotekh+ Canopteck Tomb Crawlers.

The Tecnomancer gives the unit FNP 5+ and has an enhancement that gives all models in the unit Infiltrators.

There are also 2 units of Canopteck Macrocytes+Geomancer, both separate from Imotekh's unit, so there's no Infiltrate+Scout happening here.

The Geomancer's datasheet explicitly says that if he's attached to Canopteck Macrocytes he gains Scouts 8" just like them, so those two units can do the scout move if they start inside the deployment zone.

A few specific questions I'm having in this list I would appreciate help with:

- Would dropping something to make room for an Homunculus to try getting an extra pain token per turn be worth it, or is that too unreliable?

- Similar to the above, but regarding Lady Malys for her redeploy?

- If I get a Succubus with the Pharmacophex enhancement, am I *required* to roll her extra combat drug, or can I chose not to? I saw a FAQ that getting a drug via roll also makes it unavailable for manual selection as if you had selected it without rolling dice, so I've been avoiding that enhancement to keep some control over what drugs I can choose. Does that make sense, or should I just yolo that every turn to get as many buffs as I can?

- The idea behind those Wracks is to be a slightly spongy battleline for the primaries that involve holding objectives, and to try using their ability to fish for battle-shocks for more tokens. They also have guns with the Precision keyword which I really appreciate. Is them not benefiting from the detachments too big of a problem? And if yes, what should I replace them with?

- How do I use Wytches? Their shooting is abysmal, and I also haven't had much luck with them in meele. I tried following the general advice I've seen here of splitting them with Venoms(6 with pistols on foot/gladiator weapons+Succubus+Hekatrix on Venom), but those split units never seen to have enough attacks to make a dent into anything like a space marine or anything of any significant Toughness. Are they just meant to deal with chaff? What am I supposed to charge them into? Edit: and what do I use to deal with though infantry like Space Marines or Custodes?

- How good are Scourges with Shardcarbines? As I said I'm coming from Eldar, and their War Walker has a similar effect of giving +AP against an enemy unit, and is considered a must pick. Are these Scourges similarly well regarded or are there better uses for 75 points?

- Am I going too crazy with 10/10/5 Hellions? I've heard they're one of the best units for the detachment, but back with Eldar I was advised to run even very good units at minimum size so they are easier to hide. Does the same hold true here, and if yes what should I put those freed 90/180 points (I would still like to keep at least one 10 man unit as a "just in case" if possible)towards? Or should I go the opposite way and Max them all out?

- Is it worth it going for 3 reavers and/or maxing them out?

These are just the question I'm having myself, but if you see anything else wrong with my list please feel free to speak up.

I play on TTS, so getting models isn't a problem, but Legend models aren't really used in the server I frequent, so avoiding them would be preferable.

I'm looking for advice on list building, but I would also appreciate any tips or insights on how to play SoS and Drukhari in general. Stuff like tactics, strategy, common pitfalls for new players, which unit is good at what; technical stuff like that. I still know very little about how to run this faction, so no such thing as something too simple or obvious to be worth mentioning!

How good are Kroots in Take and Hold/Kroots Hunting Pack in general?

While exploring 11th edition I've found I quite like the Take and Hold gameplay, and since KHP is the only Detachment with that Disposition I wanted to try it.

My main concern is that looking at the profiles of the various Kroots infantries (mostly Carnivores and Farstalkers currently), they seemed a bit flimsy? Even with the Invul Save given by the detachment, T3 SV 6 1W doesn't seem very suited to the Hold part of Take and Hold. Am I underestimating the benefits of the Stealth keyword, or missing something else? How much does a Flesh Shaper's FNP help them?

My current plan was to infiltrate 2 units Farstalkers lead by Trail Shapers,2 Stealth Suits and possibly 2 Lone-spears to capture objectives early, then send in 2 units of Strike Teams with a Cadre and an Ethereal (mostly here to round out points, but the 5+ FNP is nice) respectively + a unit of Starcytes lead by a Coldstar to soften up the opposition so hopefully the Kroots Carnivores (coming either on a second wave on the same turn or from reserves, haven't decided yet) gain +1 to hit and rerolls from the beginning.

Here's my current list, any feedback is welcome.

Any way to customize models?

I have just been wandering if there's any way to do some light customization in the models from ForceOrg. Stuff like painting the armor, changing heads, small stuff like that with little to no real gameplay impact.

Would also appreciate some options for ForceOrg alternatives/additions, especially for Age of Sigmar or Warhammer Fantasy models.

Thanks

Did I lose because my army sucks or I just don't know how to play?

Played against Ultramarines for the first time today, Recon(me) Vs Priority Assets. Lost a Wave Serpent and a Fire Prism to his first shooting phase, and ended up forfeiting by the second round because I felt that everything else I had was going to be shot down before I got it in range to do anything. Wanted to know if I built a bad list or I just don't know how to deploy.

Is this legal? Because it doesn't feel legal

While messing around with an Eldar list I accidentally stumbled my way into this... conga line of attachments.

To be clear, this is a warlock, attached to a unit of Storm Guardians, that itself is attached to a unit of warlock conclave, which are themselves attached to Eldrad.

The app not throwing out a list error for this has to be a bug, right? There's no way this is legal RAW, right?

Right?

"Informant Network" Enhancement interaction with Venom's unit splitting?

Hi everyone, newbie to both the game and the army here.

I have a Kabalite Cartel list I've made some changes to recently, and I've just realized that I don't know how the enhancement that gives some units "Infiltrators" interacts with the Venom's rule to split units.

Since they both say the go off at the start of the Declare Battle Formation step I don't know if I'm supposed to split a unit of Warriors and then pick my 3 infiltrators from the resulting units of five, or first apply the enhancement and then split.

Is there a rule or ruling for situations like this? Like "character abilities always go before other units" or something like that?

Semi-related question just so I don't make two posts: can the Archon with the enhancement pick a unit he himself is attached to as an infiltrator?

CYOAS where you can be the patron?

I'm looking for cyoas where you can be/become the patron in a warlock/patron style relationship. Basically be the sponsor of someone else's powers.

The cyoa doesn't need to be specifically about it, just options for it, or even just an in universe system for it.

Some sort of multiverse access would also be really appreciated

Thanks in advance!
