Anyone else not really feeling DZ2 because of the low mag sizes?

I always picked 200% in the first game but only having the 25% mag size increase is laughable. I need to reload so much they should rename this to Deadzone Reload 2.

The increased amount of items DZ2 has means 60% is shit you never want which makes putting a build together even harder. They should allow us to turn off certain items like Megabonk so we can cull all the bad items they added and the game doesn't become a reroll simulator. Also why are the secondaries still so strong?

DEADZONE ROGUE 2.......Demo

Initially, YAY!!!! Couldn't wait to try this on Xbox. Feels fantastic. As expected. Loving a lot of it.

A couple requests though. Well, one really, with my very limited time of a few hours.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.......Give us a cursor to move around on upgrade screens. It feels quite clunky to navigate just trying to follow a highlighted box. A cursor would completely fix this.

I have thoughts on the new elements but I need to spend more time. But Initially they seem very underwhelming to me by comparison to almost every element in the original game. It may just be they lack an equally impactful audio cue or something but the few times I've actually SEEN magnetism deployed on impact, it's impact in practice wasn't noticeable.

Primary weapons are still underpowered

Just like in the first game, the primaries are far worse than the secondaries. Can the developers shed some light on their balancing philosophy? The primary weapons need some serious buffs to be on par. Or maybe I’m crazy and the balance is great. What say you Reddit?

DZR2 Augments Critique

I am only on my second run, but so far I am not a fan of the visual effects for snapshot or the active reload. They feel very jarring and distracting. Feels weird in such a fast paced gamed to try to gun down a room full of enemies while staring at a reload bar or have a giant circle pop up every time I ADS. I still have a lot more to play and was a huge fan of the first game, so thank you devs for hearing the community out!

Demo Feedback after ~430 Hours On DZR1 And A Thank You To The Devs (Pic is my face while playing)

Started playing DZR1 in the playtest and put over 400 hours in, now playing through the demo and having an absolute blast, but do have some more specific feedback other than "having fun".

First of all, you can make pixel art with the hallway panel! How fun!

But in reality, the demo so far has shown me that the devs understand perfectly what we all loved about DZR1 and set out to make a game based on what we loved. Combat still feels very smooth, movement feels intentional(although Ill admit its been so long since not being max level in DZR1 that I felt like a slug for a bit), and enemies are unique with clear counters and strengths.

Thank you for building melee into a more fleshed out system. The weapon variety feels meaningful, we have another melee perk to run, and the existing melee perk is no longer a stealth cheese, which I am so thankful for. I would love at some point a "Main-hand melee" option so that we are running around with melee in hand, but I also recognize that might not be what the devs want, so Ill chalk that up to wishful and hopeful wanting.

Thank you for not shortcutting the non-gameplay aspects that made DZR1 great! The voice acting is stellar, the music is fantastic(cant wait to be able to buy the album), and the aesthetics really feel like a natural extension of the first game. The bar/club room is such a great slice of what makes the DZR games feel unique: Great layout design, amazing music, interactable environment, and funny interactions and dialogue

A few things I would like to see or have notes on:

Some of the outside levels need their brightness toned down a bit. The nature ones are great, but the exterior ship ones are so bright and have the same colors as the enemies that sometimes its hard to distinguish where anything is.

The audio seems a but sharper(?) than in DZR1, a bit more tinny and the loud sounds really punch through the rest of the audio causing very loud moments compared to the rest of gameplay (though, maybe this is just me).

Already mentioned that Id love a main-hand melee, just bringing that up again because please :)

Accurate stat display to keep track of total kills, accuracy, runs, deaths etc that DZR1 had for a little bit but wasnt accurate on. To me, its another way to reward replaying the game because I think we all love watching numbers go up

Hopefully after release we get the option to further support with ship decoration packs as we did in the first game. It was just cosmetic, but it really did add a fun vibe to the starting area as well as allowing us to support as we can.

Please let us just restart a run rather than having to abandon and go back through the entire selection process again

Overall, the demo feels exactly how I would have wanted it to feel: a natural extension of the first game that feels like the first game with some unique and fun identity changes. I cannot wait to sink hundreds more hours into DZR2 and thank you devs for keeping the spirit of the game true <3

Dz2 demo so far

To start, I love Deadzone & it’s the only game I’ve ever 100% completed. I will do the same with the second

Issues to far: enemies phasing through walls and appearing right next to me. Enemies still standing and showing even after being killed. Sometimes when you dash, even into another co op player, you get sent flying backwards like you’re rubber banding.

I love that they added a feature where if you get kicked you can rejoin, the only problem is you only keep your primary gun, armor, and whatever the superior items are called in this game. So you lose all your perks, attributes gained and other weapons/abilities. Which makes it more difficult if you disconnect at a later round

All in all, amazing game, can’t wait for early access- definitely a day 1 pick up. Thanks to the devs for all their effort

DZR 2 - Demo - Xbox Impression

Played through about 15 rooms last night..

Overall

Very impressed and this is honestly now my most anticipated title even over GTA6.

Controls

The defaults were WAY too fast and "twitchy" but after playing with them a bit, found the combo that was perfect. Aim acceleration off. Sensitivity lower to like, 75/55 (IIRC?). The aim assistance or whatever could be just a liiiitle bit less "sticky"; it works well, but there are times where it sticks so hard you can be moving directly off and away from an enemy and it will still pull your camera to be centered on them. (i.e. a bit too magnetic) (p.s. did not adjust any of the auto aim / assist settings).

Dodge

I find that mapping dodge to A : which is far more useful given how important and often dodging is during combat. I map jump to clicking the Lstick which is also mapped to a button on the back of the controller. I tried mapping jump to B.. but given the muscle memory of B very often being crouch I end up fumbling with it.

Everything else is responsive and crisp!

Visuals

Just love the look of the game.. bright, crisp, sharp, cool enemy designs, good weapons and effects. Love some of the new room "environments" and ESPECIALLY love the look of things like the lounge or areas with the lit signs (more on that later).

It would be cool if things had some more "destruction" to them.. the TV/screens shatter, for example, but in the bar/lounge the bottles don't break. If things like seats and signs or other parts of the environment looked like it was damaged from weapons fire that would be cherry on top.

Sound

You've done a great job with the audio.. weapons sound punchy and mean, there's satisfying sounds from enemies when they get hit / die, there's some good ambient sounds: well done. I found I didn't like the music as much as I did from the first game.. but honestly, after a while I ended up turning that off anyhow to focus on the sounds of the "environment" and do that with many games.

Other

I like that you can sell / buy / upgrade some of those items and perks in that vending machine. Nice touch.

Like the redesigned fabricator, although some sizing tweaks would help where now and then things get obscured because a popup blocks the thing that's under or next to it. Minor.

Planty

I love Planty. Thank you for keeping Planty in the game.

That's all for now.. but hey, splendid work by the team on this. I can't WAIT for the full game. The first was one of the best coop shooter experiences I've had in a long time and was absolutely something that just didn't quite check the boxes in other titles.

PS

... if there was a more contemporary / cover shooter sort of title with this same engine.. have you ever played the Division 2? There's this thing called the Summit.. a skyscraper with 100 (random) floors that you battle through. I'd lamented many times why they didn't expand on that, or why another company hadn't just taken that sort of idea and expanded it. Guns, attachments, and then just random / procedural floors to just enjoy some action. Take some of the ideas from roguelites and combine them with something like Terrorist Hunt from Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. I don't need (or want) PVP. I don't need to have to go on a forum to find out what the meta and super unlockable grindable parts farming crafting thing is. Just wanna blast some bad guys with a friend or two (or alone) with a whiskey at the end of a work day and not be mired in six hours of buying and selling stuff at a vendor. Choose a direction, grab some guns, and blow away some bad guys that isn't in the same 5 maps.

Anyway... EXCELLENT job even on the demo! Cheers to the whole team on this, it's an absolute day 1 purchase on this end.

What's the best build combinations you've found for DZR2 so far?

Got to the boss at stage 30 last night, think it was my 3rd or 4th run. But was nowhere near strong enough to beat him. Probably need to keep grinding to power up more at the end of each run but was wondering if anyone has found a good build so far?

Haven’t played the demo yet. Please tell me the mid-run save feature makes a return.

It’s one of the most underrated parts about the game and a big reason why the first game is my favorite FPS Roguelite. Being able to save in the middle of a run is awesome and it baffles me more games within the genre don’t have this feature.

[Deadzone Rogue]

Anyone down to help with zone 4 Ultra Nightmare? Didn't realize zone 4 was part of the trophy because it was added later. Been hard stuck for days and on the verge of thinking I might give up, been very discouraging

Deadzone Rogue 2 Quick Thoughts

Consoles need a Fov slider.

Unless I'm being an idiot and not seeing it, where are my 'Max All' buttons in the fabricator? Unsure why they were removed as they were good for the no brainer runs.

Speaking of the fabricator, the equipped weapons take up too much space on the screen so awkward to navigate.

Additionally, when trying to pick up loot from the floor, the box for the weapon or armour sticks above your screen so you have to angle your camera to see it properly. It's usually the title that gets lost.

Otherwise loving it and have no hesitation to buy the full release.

P. S. Eff them robot dogs and the war of the world aliens 😂

DZR2: How are you supposed to kill the loot bug without dying?

If I don't have any elements to slow, it's often running away into the middle of all the enemies. Since it's also on a timer, I'm finding myself just tunnel visioning with a high chance of dying before I pickup the loot. Does anyone have any advice that works for them?

DZR2; Happy the devs didn't fix this yet...

Can still get OOB and interact with the stat viewer/sig mail/customize appearance computers from DZR1. Devs pls don't fix I love this. (This was how I accessed the databank menu before heh)
