I am going to build theoretical 1000 pt-ish armies off just the best discounts I can find for Guard, Admech, GSC. I tried to avoid combo boxes in the calculation and no multiples of the same unit (1 exception...). Are these armies good or even legal? Probably not, but if your looking to add points to your army at lower than MSRP this may be of interest. If your a new player be warned these units range from good to terrible in-game!

I have been receiving a few emails/messages lately about deals not being available when they click. This is because these deals are often one-off Ebay deals (seller is selling 1 copy ) they can can sell fast. Or these deals are Amazon/Online Retail prices which can change as their algorithms match supply with demand changing prices quickly. I don't have any control over this, but on the backend I update each kit in the database every 4 hours with the most updated prices which may be more expensive or be delayed.

So i bought this cus i wanted the mission deck and could not find it anywhere both online and in my country and i also wanted to have a physicam copy of the rules. Did i get a good deal?

Warlord Games (famous for Bolt Action & Konflikt '47) has started a recycling program in the UK, starting at their HQ store in Nottingham and at events they attend.

This program will reward those who recycle 10 used sprues with 1 new sprue, which will be random which come from old stock, recent releases, pre-releases, etc. This is a super cool program! It incentivizes recycling plastics that often sit in landfills and from what I understand, are not widely accepted as recyclable items.

Please be aware that they only accept Warlord sprues, so you can't bring in GW or other companies' sprues.

I personally use my sprues for sprue glue, but I throw out a bunch out every year. I often have too many empty sprues to store for later use.

After looking at Warlord Games' news, I looked into GW's sprue recycling options. Apparently, GW partners with TerraCycle and has stores across the U.S. that participate. If you are interested in this program, here is a map of all the stores across the U.S. that participate: Terra Cycle GW Recycling Progam.

I thought this was a cool story and a great idea by Warlord Games. Incentivizing recycling, even on a minor scale makes a ton of sense.

Typically, for these posts I focus on % discount vs GW MSRP rather than raw $ savings. Today, I wanted to switch things up and give you the best savings right on a $ basis rather than a % basis.

Indie Game Recommendations

1. Quasimorph - $16.74 (33% off)

Quasimorph is a turn-based extraction roguelike that almost feels like you are a Rogue Trader in Warhammer 40K. It features grimdark elements (essentially it's dystopian corporate feudalism with monstrosities everywhere looking to kill you). It features some 40K hallmarks like demons, quashing rebellions, an oppressive world, etc. It feels very Warhammer inspired while mixing in Cyberpunk elements.

I will warn you this game is freaking difficult and unforgiving. This is the type of game you will need to fail over and over again to get better at or look at the wiki or YouTube. Overall, I really enjoy it for its universe and vibes and the gameplay is growing on me as I understand the underlying mechanics. I have only a handful of hours in the game after recently buying it following its 1.0 launch, but I can confirm this is NOT a chill game.

2. Void War - $14.99 (25% off)

Void War is a space combat and starship management roguelike game. This is essentially a grimdark modern version of FTL which was a clear inspiration for this game.

In Void War you manage your starship maintaining its systems and fighting other ships you come across on your journey. Very similar to FTL, if you like FTL you will like Void War. If you want something really on the nose Void War is it. The setting is a clear rip-off of 40K, featuring a God-Emperor, Xenos races, psychic powers, and more direct 40K features. If you want to play a really fun FTL clone with a Warhammer 40K skin, this game is great!

Honorable Mention: Moonbreaker

This one I have not played, nor do I recommend buying it (the game is sadly dead), but I have a friend who loved this game, so I wanted to include it in case anyone wants to wishlist it and grab it for a cheaper price in the future.

Essentially, this is a digital tabletop skirmish game. It has a painting mode where you can paint digital miniatures in great detail (super cool idea) and offers actual digital miniature vs miniature gameplay that feels like a real-life tabletop game with your painted dudes vs your opponents painted diudes. You can still play against AI but PvP seems dead, which sucks because the game was positively reviewed and liked... too bad. Worth checking out if it's 70%-90% off.

I saw an old Reddit post talking about rare Warhammer books, which led me down a rabbit hole learning about rare and expensive Warhammer books. What started as reading a 2-minute Reddit post turned into multiple hours of research on the topic. I never realized how many collectible and rare Warhammer books exist... so many that I had to cut off my research after just 4 books.

I wanted to share them with everyone because it's super interesting and if anyone owns these books (or similar ones), please know you're sitting on a small goldmine! I did not choose the four most expensive books, but rather the four that interested me the most because of the story behind them or how they looked. I pieced together a lot of this information from Reddit, eBay, forums, etc., so this is a mix of facts, opinions, and stories.

1. Dark Hunters: Umbra Sumus

Price: Only one publicly available at $70,000 USD! Rumors that some copies have been sold privately for a few thousand dollars (the $70K price is not the true price)

Why is it so pricey?

• Long story short, Games Workshop had a copyright issue with the Dark Hunters name because it apparently infringed on Sherilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter fantasy series, so it was never widely released.
• Only a handful of copies (rumor has it fewer than a few hundred) made it into people's hands.
• It's a normal book with no fancy features... but you literally can't find it anywhere!

I love the story behind this book. It's a straightforward Black Library novel about a Dark Angels successor chapter with a generic name (Dark Hunters could easily have been renamed to something like Shadow Stalkers lol), yet the book is incredibly rare. Games Workshop never even tried to resolve the copyright issue and rerelease it, which is so weird to me. My guess is that the headache of relaunching a book from a newer author (Paul Kearney) just wasn't worth it to them. Still, I can't imagine the editing and production costs being that significant, but I'm not an expert, so maybe the added expense would outweigh the book sales.

You can actually read this entire book for FREE online: Dark Hunters. It was leaked by an anonymous user and it has decent reviews from what I have seen on Reddit and places like GoodReads so check it out if your interested.

2. Primarch Series Limited Edition Complete Set

Price: Its complicated

• $8,299.99 for full set
• $5,715 for 11 Volumes
• $200 to $500 per single volume

Why is it so pricey?

• Only 2,500 copies of each book were released.
• A complete set is much more expensive than individual books because it's so difficult to collect all 18 volumes. In theory only 2,500 complete sets could ever exist, and realistically there are even fewer due to damaged copies and collectors unwilling to sell individual volumes that they treasure.
• The books feature fancy physical features like gilded pages, presentation boxes, individually numbered copies, etc.

This one interested me because of the massive price difference between a complete set and individual books, as well as the huge variation in prices from one Primarch novel to another. I've only read a handful of the series, but from my research, the biggest reason for the price differences is simply that some books are considered much better than others. For example, the limited edition of Ferrus Manus: The Gorgon of Medusa (which doesn't have the best reputation) sells for around $300, while Angron: Slave of Nuceria often sells for $500 or more. The highest-rated books sell for the highest prices, so your best opportunity to snag one at a good price may be to look for the lower-rated entries in the series.

3. Siege of Terra Limited Edition

Price: Its also complicated!

• Couldn't find an online list for a full set but estimated $6K - $8K (take this with a grain of salt, best estimate I could find)
• Individual copies sell for $200 - $400 on eBay

Why is it so pricey?

• Only 2,500 copies of each book were released.
• It's one of Black Library's most respected series making it desirable for both readers and collectors.
• The limited editions include premium physical features similar to the Primarch series, but in my opinion they're even nicer.

The thing that interested me most about this series (aside from the expensive prices) is simply how beautiful the books look. Out of all 4 books/series on this list, these are the ones I'd most want to own. The books look super high quality and classy, and I could easily imagine them fitting into almost any library, whether it's full of Warhammer books or more classic books. I don't collect as many physical books anymore because of limited space, but Games Workshop really knocked it out of the park with these editions.

4. Liber Chaotica

Price: Over $1,000 per individual book or $400 for the complete edition hardcover reprint

Why is it so pricey?

• Limited edition print run of 300 copies, released in the early 2000s, so finding one in pristine condition is hard work.
• From what I've read, the books are unusual both in their presentation and storytelling. Each volume focuses on one of the Chaos Gods in great detail.
• Artwork by legend John Blanche.

This was the hardest series to research since Warhammer Fantasy was well before my time, and these books aren't discussed nearly as much anymore. From what I gathered, the books are designed to look and feel like in-universe manuscripts about the Chaos Gods that someone might discover in an ancient dungeon or hidden vault. The author also has an interesting background. He worked as an accountant before writing these books and later wrote Liber Necris, a companion book about the undead in Warhammer (also rare and expensive).

I don't know if these stories have held up over time, but they must still be pretty good if even paperback copies continue to sell for around $50 today. Out of the 4 books/ series on this list, these are the books I'm most interested in reading because they seem like such a departure from the usual human (Space Marine) focus of Warhammer 40K.

I know limited editions often sell out within minutes, but they seem to retain their value and even appreciate in value over time. Weirdly they are really good deals if you can get them when they initially launch as they hold their value if you plan to sell them later down the road or they remain cool collectibles for life.
