Wiring harness ends

Wiring harness ends

I’m in the process of putting a 1977 F150 Ranger back on the road. Does anyone know if there is a wiring connector replacement kit that includes all of the wiring connectors for the truck? Short of buying the $1000 harness.

Well boys, we're toast

Tried to make a 50 mile drive going around 60-65. Motor started knocking on the interstate. At least the front wheels are freshly painted👍

I finished stripping and repainting my front wheels

I still need to remove the overspray from the tires, but I think they make the truck look much better already. I will probably work on the rear wheels this weekend and next week

76 f150 390FE going through starters

1976 f150 390FE with a 4 speed. Every time I replace the starter it sounds good but after that first start it sounds like the bendix is just grinding against the flywheel. Flywheel teeth look good still. All starter bolts are tight. Bendix sounds like it's spinning but not engaging the flywheel now. 4th time this has happened in a year. Where should I look next? Shims? New style of starter?

Edit: looks like there's a parts break between 1975 and 1976. I may need a pre-1976 starter to get things going. I'm gonna return my starter and return with results.

Exhaust: stock or not?

Dear community! I own a F150 1978 and I would like to improve its sound, especially inside the cabine. It sounds great at the end of the exaust, but not inside the cabine. At the moment is has manifolds and a single pipe as shown on the pictures. Are they stock or factory? I am dreaming of 2 H pipe to get a good but not too loud V8 sound inside the cabine. What is your experience?

‘78 Coyote swap - first fire up

Been working on swapping a gen1 Coyote with upgraded rods/pistons into my ‘78 using a Holley Terminator X Max for the past couple years. Had a pretty bad motorcycle crash a year ago and wasn’t sure I’d even get to finish. First fire up today was a sweet sweet milestone to hit. More to do, but I’m living stoked at the moment!

We remove the 6.6L 400ci Engine from the 1979 Ford F-150 Frame we got from Long Island, tear it down, and ..it's not all good news. The not so bad news is we can use some of the parts for the DentSide engine rebuild. Then, we look at the 79 F150 frame, and there is some things that needs to be addressed.

Is $1200 for a 73-75 F150 a good deal?

For context there’s this single cab short-bed F150 I’ve driven past quite a bit over the last couple years. I’ve always been curious, so I finally asked just a little bit ago.

The old guy said he’d take $1200 bucks. As far as I can tell it’s a 73-75 F-150 short-bed single cab with a 4 speed and 4 wheel drive. No idea what motor, since I couldn’t figure out how to get the hood open without damaging anything (I would assume a 351M or 300 since it’s that era of Ford)

I’m thinking yes, it’s a no brainer. It’s pretty solid with a touch of rust in both fenders, a minor amount of damage to the door that doesn’t seem to affect anything and it looks really straight and solid overall.

However, I have no idea how long it’s been sitting, if it has a title, or if it’s seized. If I had to guess it’s sat for about at least 10-15 years.
