Is this Velveeta Jalapeño Cheese Sauce in a pouch still good? The only date I could find was Oct 2025 on the box the pouches came in. Everywhere I look up says the color should be orange.
I sew bags from Polish communist era tablecloths that I find in thrift stores
I absolutely love the aesthetic of this period in Poland. There are so many floral motifs, and everything has a total vintage vibe. The goal was to make the bags look like they were taken straight off a Slavic grandma’s armchair, and I think I achieved exactly that.
A huge plus is that these bags are completely unique - nobody else will have the same one, because they are literally made out of tablecloths.
I usually buy these tablecloths for literally a few PLN (maximum ~2€/$) in second hand stores (most of them are from Vinted, but I think this app is popular in several countries in Europe only). Textile items from this period in Poland aren't worth much, but that's a win for me actually - the bag from the first photo is 90% cotton, the second one is 100% linen.
I'm completely self-taught, but sewing is a lot of fun for me. I hope you like it ❤️ And sorry for the model, that's a cardboard life-size Polish strongman we got for marriage anniversary, I don't have any other idea how to show off my bags.

Well, one sliver and I’m screwed. It’s probably gonna be 2/3 smaller by 11p. It’s currently 8:57p. Same thing happened with the 7 Up cake

Recs for a vet nearby!
Looking for a veterinarian in the area that you may have had a great experience with. I used to go to the humane society in Tampa but truthfully I do not feel like making that drive anymore. Lower cost would be great but I’m also willing to establish myself at a good vet that cares. Adding a pic of my cat below for reach. Please pay the pet tax below as well!!
A Strange Discovery While Digging
Update: opened and beautiful! Trying to add new photos here. Can’t seem to be able to. Will do a new post. Here is the update: https://www.reddit.com/r/VictoriaBC/s/gmj5pqPJoM
——————————————————————————
Today, I was digging in the ground beneath my bedroom window to fill a jar for planting. I’ve lived in this ground-floor apartment for four years, and although it’s a public area, I suspect the only other person who might have disturbed the soil is the previous owner. Last year, I added new soil but didn’t find anything interesting when I poured it out.
As I was digging, I stumbled upon a bottle after just the third or fourth shovel. Excitement and curiosity washed over me, but I wanted to wash my hands first. Unfortunately, I got sidetracked because I had a class with a student.
When the student’s guardian came to pick him up, I showed him the bottle. He warned me, saying, “Don’t open it. I’m from Sri Lanka, and older people there believe some Indians do this for bad luck. You should throw it in the sea.” I mentioned that I doubted an Indian person had buried it in that exact spot.
Even though I don’t typically believe in superstitions, his words made me hesitant to open the bottle. Now, it’s sitting atop my fridge, and I can’t shake the feeling that I should just toss it.
I also found this related post (https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/dn2RtdEIZ1). It appears to be from the UK and features a bottle similar to mine.
By the way, the smell coming from the bottle is a bit off—almost like cat pee. What should I do with it?
Alfredo with Tritip and Broccolini
Classic fettuccine alfredo. Roasted broccoli with Pecorino Romano. Tritip steak. Tritip was seared in cast iron then rested tented with foil. Melted butter in the fond and added lavender & sage. Spooned herb sauce over steak as it rested. What do you think?
