Descendants Characters Vs Their Live-Action Disney Counterparts
I've not seen every single Disney live action so I hope this is accurate and I'm really sorry if it's not ♥️

I am obsessed with the children-of-fairytale-characters trope. I don’t care if people think it’s played out I love it. I’m literally writing a book with that trope right now. Every time I watch or read something with it in media, I automatically connect it to Descendants, because why not? It’s my favorite thing to do.
Hook has three daughters and a son? Great—add Neal Jr. from Once Upon a Time in there too.
Maleficent and Hades have Mal and Hadie? Great let’s throw in Faybelle Thorn from Ever After High too. I don’t care if Ever After High uses the Brothers Grimm versions.
And I will keep doing this until Generations are filled does OCs count of course they count
I’m sure you’ve all heard the line, “Perfect princess nepo babies.” This line, as well as the whole song, has been getting some heat. I’ve been seeing a lot of people online saying that the point of Descendants is that they’re ALL nepo babies, and to me, that’s just not true. Especially with Max Hatter.
A nepo baby reaps from the benefit of their parent’s wealth, fame, and in this case, royal status. But the Mad Hatter never had any royal status and lacks all this power. There’s an argument that because the Mad Hatter is well-known, Max would be a nepo baby, but again, there’s nothing really to be gained by being a descendant of the Mad Hatter. Maybe if Max followed in his daddy’s footsteps and also became a tutor he’d be a nepo baby lol. Ooh what a perfect princess nepo baby he’d be.
Yall, I was so hyped when I saw these two! Not only is CJ back, but after 11 years, Harriet has finally made her visual appearance! I have to say, Harriet looks like how I imagined her to be! I was jumping in my chair and I had to hold my chest from having a heart attack lol. She, along with her sister, both look so good! I don’t want to spoil much of the story, but this book is now officially one of my favorites of all time! And just so y’all know, this story takes place between D3 and TRoR, so for those who are still saying that the books and Wicked World aren’t canon to the movies, well, this might be tough to argue with 😂.
I’ve been waiting for this book to come out 4Ever! I’ve seen pics of some of the pages and saw some info that got me more excited. As soon as the release date arrived, which is today, I went and got it! After I have some dinner, I’ll get right to reading it!

What if Royal Prep is the primary school/elementary school for the children in Auradon and then Ever realm Academy is the middle school (even though Sofia goes to Charmswell, most would go to Ambers royal school) and then Auradon Prep is the high school and then there is Auradon University. This could easily make sense as the three fairies are headmistresses like Fairy Girmother is and Sofia is a sequel to all princess films similar to descendants. Enchancia could easily be one of the states of Auradon.
However, how old would Sofia be in descendants because I would love for her to become a live action teen character in the next trilogy following her middle school royal magic adventure. BUT, since she meets the princesses likely before they have children and she has maybe a 10 year age gap between the princesses she is most likely around 30 in descendants so possibly has her own royal baby.
Theres so many things I will never forgive Disney for doing to descendants 1.The Harry hook and Gil Gaston kiss 😭 2.Chloe and Zellie storyline they could have made history with the first same Gender kiss in a Disney channel movie ! That damn mouse !Disney had a same gender couple in andimack Tyrus (Cyrus and Tj) but Disney canceled that and their was no kiss.Disney had four chances but they cancel everything
Maleficent was the enchantress in the (original) trilogy . It's the reason why Beast claimed she was the worst villain of all them. It would make 'when I was your age I was cursing entire kingdoms' makes since
I loved the original trilogy so much, that I couldn't even begin to start with how obsessed with them I was growing up. There was a point in my life where I could recite the entire Descendants 2 script, and would perform it for my friends at recess, I had all the books, not just the Isle of the Lost ones, and I still have my Mal, Evie, Uma, and makeshift Dizzy costumes tucked away in my mom's closet. So, even though I was already a sophomore in high school when they announced the cast, I was excited to hear about Merlin Academy, because I had assumed it was like a Descendants Prequel where we get to see what the villains were like when they were teens. I was kinda disappointed to find out it was actually a sequel, but I tried it out anyways because I thought that it coming out on the day of my 17th birthday was a sign for me to watch it regardless, but I was disappointed to see how it actually turned out.
Not only was the writing and plot development awful (seriously, why would you repeatedly bring up a problem, solve it, then give us no actual pay off?), the costuming looked cheap and unnatural, they used the same 4 sets for everything, the characters are completely one dimensional, the songs were used to replace dialouge instead of provide actual insight into a characters traits, motivations, or inner monolouge, no major life lessons were learned in the end, and it completely violated the world building that was already established.
I said that, even if onlt considered conceptually, it would've been better as a spin off than a sequel, but was labeled as a sequel because of Disney's greed regarding franchising. But overall, it wasn't even a good film, even when considered as a standalone, because, just speaking in general filmography, its just bad and even worse in context.
I dont think Im being too harsh, or not considering the "Its so bad, its good" factor, because I tend to be the kind of person who defends movies that are widely considered as bad movies. I mean, my comfort movie is Camila Cabello's Cinderella, for goodness' sake. But I still get a lot of backlash for not liking the movie. I also dont think its simple nostalgia either, because I could still point out productional issues I have with the original movies, but they arent bad enough to take away from the movies themselves, because at least the movies still follow the barebone skeleton of plot development and musical structure, which is the least a movie could do. Even bad movies with production values cheaper than a good value couch still have complete plots. Is it really just me who cant look past all of that??
He was supposed to be the son of Aladdin and Jasmine. He was shown in the original script and they had an actor but he was deleted from the movie. Was the ere ever a reason why and had his actor ever talked about being deleted?
DESCENDANTS: WICKED NEVERLAND
After the events of Descendants: The Rise of Red and the fall of Wonderland’s tyranny, Auradon enters a new age of unity under Principal Uma. Still determined to reconnect every forgotten kingdom, Uma organizes a diplomatic school voyage to the mysterious island of Neverland, a paradise absent from Auradon maps for years.
The journey begins when a charismatic new transfer student named Petunia Pan, daughter of Peter Pan, arrives at Auradon Prep. Petunia quickly becomes popular, especially after befriending Ender Darling, the adventurous son of Wendy Darling, now a geography teacher at the school.
Despite warnings from the Queen of Hearts that “Neverland and Wonderland were never meant to thrive at the same time,” Red secretly joins the voyage alongside Chloe, her new secret love interest.
The expedition includes the next generation of Auradon kids:
But before reaching Neverland, Uma’s ship is attacked near Skull Island by the fierce pirate captain Harriet Hook, daughter of Captain Hook and aunt to Finn.
The students are taken hostage until the sea itself erupts and an older, terrifying Ursula emerges from the ocean depths. Revealed to be Hook’s estranged former wife, Ursula mocks what the pirates have become and forces Harriet to release the students, warning that Neverland is already dying.
When the group finally reaches Neverland, they discover not a paradise, but ruins. The skies are gray. Pixie dust barely works. The Lost Boys are scattered. Pirate raids have destroyed villages, and children are mysteriously aging.
Hidden within Hangman’s Tree, the group meets Tinker-Ben, Petunia’s boyfriend and former captain of Neverland Academy’s Lost Boys Tournament team. He reveals the truth:
Neverland and Wonderland are magically linked.
One realm flourishes while the other decays.
For generations, Wonderland suffered under the Queen of Hearts, causing Neverland to remain eternally youthful and magical. But after Red and Chloe restored Wonderland, the balance shifted violently, draining Neverland’s magic almost overnight.
Worst of all, when Neverland lost its power, Peter Pan began aging for the first time in centuries. Terrified of growing old and desperate to restore himself, Peter abandoned the island alongside Tinker Bell in search of a cure, leaving his people behind.
This becomes the emotional core of the film: Petunia struggles with the truth that her father may not be the hero everyone believed him to be.
To save both kingdoms permanently, the students must unite Neverland’s divided factions:
Together, Red and Chloe discover that Wonderland and Neverland were never supposed to compete, they were meant to coexist through balance, imagination, and belief.
In the climax, Petunia confronts Peter Pan himself, now partially aged into a bitter, frightened man obsessed with reclaiming eternal youth. Instead of destroying him, she convinces him to finally grow up and take responsibility for Neverland.
The restored harmony between Wonderland and Neverland heals the magical imbalance across Auradon…
…but it also weakens the barriers imprisoning the darkest villains in the world.
In the final scene, the enchanted woods fly over a mysterious tower like Rapunzel’s, and even a frog jumps by, setting up the next trilogy.
It's hard to be excited for a movie that nearly everyone in and out of the fandom hates because of one line from a song. Dear god the whole song isn't even bad but we all gotta harp on that one part and say Descendants is dead, and the whole movie is bad, and anyone who likes it is "reta****" (Actual comment i saw btw).
Look you can love the original three and not like what came next, that's fine and good. But you can also like things and acknowledge that they have flaws and arent as good as what came before, but the internet doesn't know what that is and only focuses on overly loving or hating something.
Actually no Internet, i'm not gonna judge a whole unreleased movie based on one "bad" line from a song. I'm gonna watch it, digest it, and make my own opinions. If i love it good, if i don't oh well.
Coming from someone who honestly liked D4 (while ackowleding it's flaw), I was excited to see what comes next...... but god forbid being excited cause the slightest bit of positive opinion on D5 leads to an overwhelming amount of hate. I can't even look up D5 without the first thing popping up being hate.
Tl:dr- too much hate for an unreleased movie, people arent allowed to have opinions outside the majority. When D5 comes out imma just watch it and have fun, i'm just so tired.
Will Felix be part of hazel’s crew or like Celia me be on the good side
Queen Narissa (Enchanted)
Eilonwy and Taran (Black Cauldron)
Hercules and Megara (Hercules)
Merida (Brave)
The Enchantress (Beauty and the Beast)
Arthur (Sword in the (anvil that they're gaslighting us into thinking is a) Stone)
Happy (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves)
Ariel and Eric (The Little Mermaid)
Jane and Tarzan (Tarzan)
Edward and Nancy (Enchanted)
Besides the four main characters and how well they have chemistry (I haven't mentioned rise of red yet) is there another friendship you'd like to add?
I think the scene will be great in the movie
