2nd volume of the Detective Conan: Ai Haibara science spin-off manga releases July 15, 2026!

A Detective Conan educational spin-off starring Ai Haibara is releasing in Japan on July 15, 2026.

Title: 名探偵コナン 灰原哀の科学事件レポート (Detective Conan: Ai Haibara's Science Case Report)
Authors: Gosho Aoyama (original work), Miho Asada (manga)
Publisher: Shogakukan
Price: ¥990 (tax included)
ISBN/JAN: 9784092274631
Listing: Animate

This is Volume 2 of the Ai Haibara science mystery manga series. Haibara uses her knowledge as a former scientist to solve mysteries alongside Conan by applying scientific reasoning to seemingly impossible incidents.

According to the publisher, the volume features:

  • Standalone mystery chapters (no need to have read Volume 1)
  • Cases set in locations including TV stations, shopping malls, neighborhood pâtisseries, and Teitan Elementary School
  • Explanations of the scientific principles behind each trick
  • Step-by-step science experiments that readers can try at home, making it suitable for school projects and science activities

The series is serialized in Shōgaku 8-nensei (小学8年生), Shogakukan's educational magazine for elementary school students, and blends Detective Conan-style deduction with real-world science. It's a fun way to see Haibara take center stage while introducing readers to scientific concepts through mystery cases.

*SPOILER FILE 1165* Gosho I know we're getting 275 months of hiatus after this panel

Feast to my eyes.

Putting everything aside, it's been such a while since we witnessed a double page on the manga. And dedicated to Shiho. With Wakasa in it.

I'm content.

Can someone tell me why detective Conan has this many episodes

Why is the series still running genuinely from it's plot I feel everything could be wrapped up in 500 chapters MAX. is it just a matter of them wanting more money since the series sells? also where are we currently in the anime/manga

I absolutely love " Detective Conan".

In addition to being a great detective show with amazing plots. I feel a connection to all of the characters. The show does not do any disservice to female characters. I love Ran as a character, she is strong, intelligent and compassionate. The show keeps a perfect balance of the childish aspect and the serious aspect of the show, I love the innocence of Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko, and how it blends with various plots in the show.

Episode after Winter Holidays

Hi everyone,

I'm desperately looking for an episode for a video.

At the beginning, Conan is still half-asleep at the detective agency and says something along the lines of, “We made it through the holidays (it must be winter break, since New Year's is coming up) just fine; it was a few quiet days.” I mean, he's brushing his teeth or about to eat something, right after waking up.

Can anyone help me? PLEASE :D

quality of the movies

i watched up until movie 21 when it released and decided to stop wasting my time on these movies as they were just getting worse story line wise. the movies used to be so good. i rewatched the first four movies at least ten times each but the current movies are a drag to even just finish once. in my opinion, the 6th movie was that last actually really good movie. 7-10 are fine but don’t really compare to the first 6. and from beyond that it just keeps declining and getting worse. the plots are very predictable and sometimes downright dumb, as in you have to turn your brain off to enjoy. the setting becomes stagnant, the story doesn’t move, it all just follows a rigid linear line of events that can be predicted from the start. and the movie’s “uniqueness” becomes about choosing a peculiar setting with a mid plot rather than building an actually interesting story with memorable characters. does this change after the 21st movie or is it still like this?

Almost a New Watcher, Need Guidance.

So, I don't know how to start this but yeah I wanna watch Detective Conan so badly, I have watched a couple of episodes like 5 years ago & liked the series & wanted to continue it but couldn't.

Basically I am currently confused to watch which episodes, I am definitely gonna watch the Canon ones but I got to know there are skippable canon episodes.

Can anyone here help me with skippable canon episodes list & worth watching fillers list?

Also is this watch order according to the release order & contains everything anime like episodes, movies, OVAs, specials, recap specials and spin-offs?

For other anime like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach (btw Bleach is literally PEAK) watch order & worth watching fillers list are easily available.

Edit : Gonna follow this filler guide.

Why is this show criminally underrated ?

HOW IS THIS SHOW SO UNDERRATED ????. The first time I took an interest in it was an illegal stream on my TV. It was a movie about how Conan gets stuck in a VR world where the main villain is Sherlock's greatest enemy, and Conan finds a way out of it. I was hooked after that. I am currently at ep 345, where they reveal Jodie and Vermouth. The anime community talks about L being the greatest detective, while Conan simply exists. You could make the counter for it by saying Conan hasn't caught The Black Organization in 20 years, but damn, he is one heck of a detective. Probably, I am gonna say this is the greatest detective in the eastern hemisphere, rivaling Sherlock or Poirot.

Idea for the future of how the Detective Conan Studio Nano Dub goes in order

Obviously we would all love for the team to go full throttle into dubbing a lot of episodes each year. But I have a suggestion to TMS which should be feasible and it is for Nano to release the corresponding episodes dubbed for each 3-in-1 volume release. That would be a really cool way to promote each corresponding release. I literally just thought of this and it seems like a good way and reason to go in order, plus there's been a lot of this covered already. This would be great for a multitude of reasons because:

- It goes in order of release and cuts filler

- Gives the team about 3-4 months between 4 batches a year most likely of like 15-18 eps which are just slightly larger than what we are getting now

- Is there for people who wanna follow along with both anime and manga or even for readers who want to watch the iconic scenes animated

- Gives a clear release timeline bc readers/watchers will know the exact release of the next batch once the new volume goes up for preorder instead of just random drops that are less predictable of late

If for some reason the dub wasn't feasible, they should at the very least drop the subbed versions each volume release, which they've got a good lead on bc of 123 eps on Crunchyroll. Feel free to let me know your thoughts on this!

Conan's and Ran's first ever voiced appearance (I think), a 1995 Shounen Sunday advertisement

Not completely sure if I can verify the initial release date but multiple sources seem to say this released sometime in 1995, the year before the anime first came out. If correct, while this wouldn't be the first animated appearance of Conan Edogawa or Ran Mouri (both made quick silent cameos in the final episode of the first Yaiba adaptation), this would mark their first voiced appearances to my knowledge.

What makes this interesting is how, even in this very early stage, there are multiple aspects of this commercial that align well with the future anime adaptation. While there are areas of difference like Conan's clothing, the general look of the commercial veers pretty close to the initial look of the anime (albeit with more heavy shading) and the voices of the two were provided by their then-future anime VAs, Minami Takayama and Wakana Yamazaki. It's kind of astonishing that either the voices were already set for the anime or whoever picked the anime voices liked the VAs in the ad so much that they let them reprise for the anime.

I’m on Episode 229 Will Ran Ever Be a Character?

They be putting her in the intros and outros like she really a main character, but 95% of this show she's literally done nothing so far.

Will Ran finally use Karate? Nope. Will she stop dragging Conan away from the scene? Nope. Will she have literally any other character traits than being in love with Shinichi... NOPE.

Like I've been trying to be nice, but I think 200+ episodes is enough. Maybe it'll get better later, but it's starting to feel like Ran's whole role in this show is to be Conan's love interest which is hurting her character to me.

Being honest not only do I think that romance is boring asf, but openings and endings be acting like she really does stuff in this show! Like bro that one opening where she's white, naked, glowing, closing her eyes, and clutching her chest I'm just over here like "Um... When did she get that important?"

I just find it crazy for a character they want to have this huge ass spotlight on in these intros, she feels the least interesting/entertaining out of the large batch of reoccurring characters so far.

Hope this didn't come off as a hate post! I'm just confused why this show tells us Ran is important, but has her do nothing.

EDIT: I'm glad you guys didn't get mad and seemed understanding! I kinda get scared interacting with fandoms these days stating opinions (especially on characters), because things can get hectic! From what I can tell, in some of the movies she'll have more of a role.
