Doing both Heist and Bomb-Maker

Video shows the game lagging since I am recording this in QuickTime Player while playing the game. In order for you to do this glitch after finishing your call with Janus you need go out the way you came from. DO NOT GO OUT THROUGH THE SEWERS! You need to time the peps shooting and police stopping you to check your papers for this glitch to work. Also you do not need to shoot at Tarvos guy with PEPS like I did.

Going up with Doctor Reed

The elevator scene between Jensen and Megan Reed is so well done. It really sets the whole 'lovers' atmosphere going and gives Jensen a huge boost to look for her and then stumble in the huge conspiracy. Then the fucking Pritchard steps in and leaves everything hanging in the air. Just an amazing short cutscene.

Finished human revolution and mankind divided do you think it's a good idea to play first one and invisible war now?

Since I heard these 2 are actually prequels and deus ex from 2000 and invisible war happen much later

Warren Spector retires

LinkedIn post

Let me cut right to the chase. I'm retiring from game development. At least I think so. I've been here before and changed my mind but this time I'm pretty sure I mean it.

I've had a great career. Wouldn't change a thing even if I could. But the reasons to retire are simple: I'm a month away from my 44th year as a developer. I've had the chance to work on tabletop roleplaying games and boardgames. I've worked on more digital games than I can remember -- 17 full games, I think, and 9 or so add-on packs. Gratifyingly, some of those games are still being played 15... 20... 30 years later. And most of them have been in a genre that has had influence beyond what I or anyone else expected. I've run teams as small as a dozen and as big as 800. I've worked for big companies and done startups. I like to think I've helped some insanely talented people along in their careers. (That last is the most important.)

With all that behind me and with age and health (my business) catching up with me I'm feeling like I've done what I set out to do. It's time to write some books, do a lot of reading, do some lecturing, maybe do some consulting. (Feel free to get in touch about those last two.) Also there's a keyboard here just waiting for me to get my piano chops back.

I definitely have mixed feelings about this. I mean there are three games in particular I'd still like to make. (One is very big... one is very small... and one I don't know how to make which scares me.) But the game business has changed and it's just not as much fun for me anymore. Plus there's a new generation of developers coming up who deserve their time in the sun.

To all of you reading this I want you to remember that games are not a solved problem yet -- there is, I hope, plenty of experimentation and innovation to come. And to all you young developers out there, I've said it before and I'll say it again, your job is to make people forget people like me ever existed.

Will I come back? Never say never. But I think it's time to ride off into the sunset.

Now stop reading and make great games.

Used video editing to create a mockup of DLC integration in a hypothetical DXMD Director's Cut

I just made this for fun/because I wanted to, it's not that deep, but I know people will have thoughts, so I'll share mine:

- I am aware that the timing/placement of this is not strictly canon, and that the Delara/Adam conversation that frames the ACP DLC actually takes place later, after the events of DXMD. Since the main body of the DLC is a flashback, and the Delara/Adam convo doesn't really touch on anything relevant, it would be trivial to relocate the framing device to another point in the story

- Should be an optional side mission, which would be very advantageous for the [very vocal] folks who object to Missing Link integration in DXHR. Give Adam a dialogue option to skip the flashback, let players come back and talk about it at any time [or, perhaps, any time before >!martial law!<]

Where are these two exo suit guys in Palisade bank?

I did the versalife vault heist mission and I hacked the robots and turrets and cleared the entire building of security guards, but couldn't figure out where these 2 guys were. Is this a hidden room I missed or are they somehow in a void spot of the map?

Has anyone read this book? Its very similar to what Deus Ex Human revolution is about.

I haven’t started reading it yet, but someone was telling me about A Hacker Manifesto and described it as basically Marxist/class theory meeting the new age of technology and information.

The more they explained it, the more I kept thinking about Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Especially the idea that technology can give people more freedom and power, but at the same time, someone still owns or controls the technology, information, patents, infrastructure, etc. So even though technology is advancing, you end up asking who actually has the power the people using it, the people creating it, or the people who own and control access to it?

It immediately made me think about augmentation in Human Revolution and how corporations like Sarif Industries have enormous influence over something that is literally becoming part of people's bodies and lives.

Maybe I’m making a connection that isn’t really there since I haven’t read the book yet lol, but the similarities kind of freaked me out.

Has anyone here actually read A Hacker Manifesto? Did you see any parallels with Deus Ex, or am I reaching?

Rucker different dialogue

This is what happened after getting to him in stealth. His dialogue is not hostile if you go through the ARC territory without attacking.

NEO Berlin 2087 gamescom 2026 trailer (Elias Toufexis is VA ingame)

Kinda digging the vibes. I know it's not Deus Ex but I think you might find it interesting nonetheless.

Should I play Mankind Divided right after the oringinal?

Just finished oringinal. I know the next one to play is Human Revolution but I have mankind divided from family sharing. How big of a deal is it if I play mankind divided first?

Edit: I’ve decided to play human HR first. Thanks for the answers!

Bugs?

is it just my game? when im crouched, my feet get caught on EVERY little bump in elevation, whether it's 6 inches or 1 centimeter, so i have to jump. picked up and dropped environment objects commonly shake indefinitely until the are destroyed or destroy everything. i get caught on corners when transferring cover often. i'm playing on steam so i should be patched to current, and human revolution was like crystal clean in the bugs department.

Dx universe

Dx universes connecting to each other feels so odd, the idea of it sounds dope but in the game some things bug me off. I just feel like it's better to consider hr md and dx1 iw as 2 different timelines. Though if a new game comes up it probably will be the last piece of the puzzle. You can't just tell me they started to use regular crossbow in the future and all coded door technology had been wiped off.

A question has come to mind. I’m on a new playthrough and currently going through the MJ12 base in NYC. Why does JCD not get in trouble with Manderly after offing every MJ12 trooper?
